  10. Well i would like to second manfers comments about yesterday. I had great crack with everyone in brechins before the game and then we went to ibrox all fuelled up to have a good day even though none of us expected the performance we witnessed. The first half was drab and apart from ryan making the save of the game if not the save of the season not much to write home about. We ddnt test mcgregor very much and rangers had moments where we had had to be abit desperate at the back but we dealt with it well with all the back 4 being heros even if gillet almost undone the good work right on half time. Second half and rangers goal was no surprise. All the crosses into the box looked dangerous and it looked only a matter of time before they got through. The goal is disappointing even though their is a hint of handball by jelavic but hey the story of the day jelavic handballed in their area in the first half and it wasnt noticed evn though looking at the highlights it was pretty blatent. After 1-0 we lost the plot for a while and had to ride the crest of rangers wave for a little bit and a few times we almost drowned. First lafferty should have scored and he even had the option to give jelavic a tap in but we survived that and then papac hit a very sweet shot that smashed off the bar. In between that was penalty shout number 2 when mckay looked to have been pulled back by bartley but yet again nothing doing. Then the game changer ive seen the highlights and it was a very strong challenge by graeme shinnie but he won the ball and as been stated if Rangers were that concearned for jelavic then they should have got rid of it themselves but they didnt so they cant complain when we played on. Tade was quiet but again put alot of effort in and the best bit of trickery of the game to completely mug whittiker and put a great ball across for shinnie to equalise. Their werent many away fans but ever supporter that was their were having a party. Then it was our game to win from then, foran first scored a perfect goal from a delicious hayes free kick but again who would dare take the lead at ibrox especially a bunch of highlanders and we robbed a good goal by the linesman. Mckay just had to show a little more composure when he had the open goal but was slightly off balance and his shot hit the post and went wide. Then hayes ran through the ranger defence like they werent their and showed great composure to take the rebound and round mcgregor before weakly hitting towards the goal only to give wallace time to clear. Any more force and it would have been a goal. Rangers won because for the first time in the game we gave davis room to run at our defence before playing a nice ball for lafferty to score and effectively win. Mckay should have done better against a panicky rangers defence but hit his shot straight at mcgregor. Overall feel half and half, obviously gutted that we created so much and played so well at the champions and got nothing but also very proud in defeat. Esson was great and the back 4 were supurb especially shinnie and golabart who put in a real shift. Up front hayes was again our dangerman but foran and mckay performed well with mckay holding the ball up and causing the rangers defence a few problems. Tade worked hard and showed some real skill to create the equaliser. A very good game and a fantastic performance and if we can do that agait the other teams then we will be just fine this season. COMEON CALEY THISLTLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. just seen the highlights and well the defending was very shoddy. I dont think that golabart should be attacked for trying to make the clearance but his positioning was poor which i think led to the goal. Obviously i wasnt there so i didnt see it all but from what the highlights showed johnny russel really didnt do anything apart from take his goals pretty well but i wasnt there so if im wrong then fine. Esson has been coming in for some stick and i think that is bollocks. He is one is one of very few that have been good this season. He had a great season last season and so did the whole team but to suddenly slate him because he isnt as good as last year is abit over the top. Very gutted about the result, i thought we may have turned a corner at st mirren but for all the ups and downs which there has been more downs than ups i still think we will finish higher than dunfermiline. We do need some experience in defence and i do believe we will start to get midfield cover once jones is fit and he can battle with davies for that role. But cox should have been played at right back not davies and i was going to blame butcher for his red because he was out their but the challenge was needless and could have happened in any position so cant complain their. Rangers next week probably will go, not likely to win but if the boys really want spl football then maybe Ibrox will be the place to show it
  12. bk from the game pretty solid st mirren really didnt look dangerous at all. The last 5 minutes was more about being nervous about our defence than the st mirren forwards. We deserved the win and looked really solid. The goal against was poor at the corner but apart from set pieces our defence didnt look overly troubled. Golabart was great as a shock starter and davis shielded the defence brilliantly. I was impressed with mckay he didnt do huge amount in the firsrt with the service not being great but he was very impressive in the second showing alot of effort. Esson made aa couple of brilliant saves and hayes turned out to be instrumental to our success onwards and upwards i say
  13. i will be there looking forward to it where does people normally meet as i have some time on saturday for a few pints
  14. hey andrew are u going to st mirren ive got some spare time on saturday so i get throught to glasgow earlier where do u normally go before the st mirren games

  15. hey andrew are u going to st mirren ive got some spare time on saturday so i get throught to glasgow earlier where do u normally go before the st mirren games

  16. Agree entirely. first i was one of the of the many outside for the first 10 minutes. They had a turnstille for the cash and a turnstille for ticket only but i only saw a few people walk in with a ticket most people were paying at the gate. I find it remarkable that they didnt just allow people throught the ticket only to speed things up. As for the game decent affair but we have to be disappointed not to win because the goals was our own doing. Just a hoof could cause major problems and skacel 1-0 to easy! Then we get back into it and suddenly we have a light to push towards but we suddenly lost composure and let hearts on to us. It is interesting that people are blaming proctor for the marking. I didnt spot that but the problem i have is why was it just johhny hayes who went out to the hearts players. Leaving him alone and 2 on 1 situation is criminal so thats where i was angered. After that we made no impression and ended up losing against a pretty poor hearts team. But on wards and up wards roll on St Mirren next week
  17. yep count me in
  18. none of the old firm not at this stage would like to progress a little before we meet the big guns maybe county away would do
  19. I was at the game and it will be reflected in my report how angry i feel. I missed the rangers game earlier in the season but from the radio reports i heard up until tokely being sent off for a perfect tackle rangers didnt look like they were making to much of an impression on our goal and that we without creating loads of chances still had enough to trouble them until of course the ref got involved. Today must have been an action replay because up until the sending off celtic did very little to worry our defence, infact the best chance of the game fell to us with Hayes brilliant low shot being turned behind. But i was seething at that scandolous decision and i had a horrible feeling something like that would happen. Earlier i think davis made a great tackle on one of the celtic midfielders who was bursting forward. But instead of us collecting the ball and getting forward into some space O Reilly called it back for a free kick even though davis clearly got the ball. And i agree with everything tht the sportsound team had to say when they commented that O Reilly couldnt wait to get the red out. Samaras is a cheat and a disgrace to the game there is diving to cause an advantage like win a pen or free kick but then there is diving and feigning injury to get another professional sent off. If i was samaras i would take a hard long look at myself but i bet he and his other band of diving pricks really give a toss. With Celtic the ends really do justify the means. Tansey was clearly distraught and yet again the old firm who aint as good as years gone by are just given a wee helping hand here and there just to make sure that their supremacy is untouched. I dont think any of the refs are biased i just think they are plain **** and are helping to destroy scottish football with their incompetance and quality as a whole. But there was a positive and that was that the team put in another solid performance. Davis was exceptional when we had 11 as well the back four being mighty. And as i said in the preview that this game isnt really a game that will determine our fate while it was more important for them, if we had a 11 the longer we made celtic to look enept the more desperate they would become and the greater confidence we would have to believe we could win it but no it was ruined. I also did think it was strange giving celtic the west side which was right next us. They were very awful i sit in the family stand near the west enclosure and sit with alot of families with young children who were having to put up with fans making hand gestures especially when they scored and at the red card totally uncalled for and now explains why all celtic fans grew up to be cretinous ********
  20. i will be there cant wait for this
  21. didnt get to the game but listened o the match and have seen the highlights. The amount of chances deserved us to win to matches let alone not just yesterday, we cant complain about defending for two of the goals as lasleys was a belter and the last one came from a deflection. our goals were well taken and if we can show the same application and effort then we will win games and get off the bottom. I dont know the formation but if it was the 4-3-2-1 then i think we play well in that formation and i think we should use it more often. Gutted we didnt win but onwards and upwards if we continue to play like that
  22. I have to agree with all the posts about this game. First grumble i have was the system. now ross and tansey are centre mids and with shinnie and davis occupying those positions then playing the other two on the flanks is obsurd. If it was the only option then fine cant do much about it but the fact that chippendale who has shown himself to be a handy a wingr on the bench then why aint we playing him in the wide. Ross stayed out wide to be fair but tansey always cut inside meaning we had no width down the right with piermayre being the outball down that side. Dunfermiline i agree deserved they the point but they have shown themselves to be no better than us just better on the day as we were pants. Esson has to be my man of the match because he was a one man defensive line. Davis i thought was vastly improved from last week and tade as usual worked his arse off. I do agree about the issue with Mckay why he hasnt been used more but a 10 minute cameo at the end
  23. was certainly a poor performance where the formation was totally ineffective. The formation i saw was a 4-1-2-1-2 with shinnie in the playmaker role and davies as the sitting player and then 2 wide men who gave no width at all as they aint wide men. the two banks of four for saints totally squeezed the space meaning shinnie couldnt play with any freedom. Foran was poor up front even though the service he got was crap but my dud of the game was davies as he was sloppy and when on the ball took longer than needed when a good pass was on. he kept it and the chance was gone and what was worrying was we had a few periods of pressure on saints and yet not once did we ever look like scoring apart from chippendale hitiing the bar not good but lets keep our heads up big game next week so lets just try and treat it as a one off as i believe we have played mostly not to bad
  24. well another case of dr jekyl and mr hyde here. Great first half entertainment with Caley carring on where we left off from last week playing some really good passing football. We created chances and where the better team but allowed to much space in the middle for uniteds opener as a lovely through ball cut us wide open and the guy (cant say his name) finished giving Ryan no chance. No worry we were level within 3 minutes some good football again aided by some slack defending allowed A Shinnie to put an inviting ball across the face into the path of Ross to score. I expected us to go on and we did create some good chances but we didnt capitalise and alklowed united back into the game. There second was horrific defending by golabart who was axed at half time. Yet again though we cant play for 90 minutes and the second half was poor tade had one chance to level but that was just about it. Butcher brought foran off and sutherland but he played a 4-5-1 which nullified the space for Shinnie who i though had an ok game and sutherland was so ineffective down the flank with tade up front it was like trying to break down a brick wall with a tooth pick. United's 3rd was again poor defending with our players falling alseep to allow 1st the cross to get in and 2nd to give Jon Daley (who just came on) to score a free header with his first touch. After that we huffed and puffed but there was no real quality and united held on pretty easy. There was one guy at the end who shouted ur **** towards Shinnies parents which was very harsh and a small arguement ensued but if this guy though A Shinnie was **** then he cant have any complaints about Graeme Shinnie who was magnificent really solid and bombed forward all game but with celtic next week we must pick up points against st mirren and the next few games after otherwise this could be a long hard season if it isnt already
