Celtic's 3-0 defeat of Falkirk is no surprise but according to the BBC they had 42 shots on goal to Falkirk's 0. That must in itself be some kind of record. I'll be happy to avoid Celtic till the final.

The league sides edged them at the end. That was probably due simply to lack of match fitness. Similarly, Morton equalised in extra time against East Fife and went on to win in Extra Time whilst Dundee Utd got a winner against Partick Thistle in injury time. Nearly lots of upsets, but in the end, not very many.

Just wondering if County have achieved another first here. Are they the first Premiership side ever to have been dumped out of the Scottish Cup whilst no less that 3 Highland League sides remain in it?

Yes, I was rather looking forward to his interview. He's not usually so camera shy.

That was a terrific performance all round. The work rate was fantastic. County were trying to play the ball out from the back, as is Yogi's style, but despite some fairly crisp passing, they constantly got closed down and resorted to the long ball. Three real quality finishes for the goals but helped by some pretty poor defending. Toddy was given so much space for the first goal that he had time to recover from a slip before rifling the ball home. In the league we've not been scoring much, but those strikes must give confidence to the lads. It is as well that games are decided on the number of goals scored and not how often you can hit the ball against the top of the stand. If it was, I think we would have lost 4-2!

3% would not be enough. The best description of the system used to calculate the votes is from "The Ferret". They describe it like this. "This system allocates seats by taking the number of regional votes a party gets, and dividing it by the number of MSPs that party wins within that region, plus one. For example, if Party A had one MSP elected in the region through the constituency vote, their number of list votes would be divided by two (number of MSPs + 1). So if they received 20,000 list votes, their number would be 10,000. Let’s say this was higher than the next highest, Party B, who received 8,000 votes and had no MSPs elected in constituencies. Party B’s vote would be divided by 1 (Number of MSPs + 1) and stay the same. Party A would then win the first round and get one MSP elected. In round two, this MSP would be added to Party A’s calculation, so their 20,000 would now be divided by three (number of MSPs + 1), giving them 6,667. This would be lower than Party B’s number of 8,000, so Party B would get an MSP in the second round. This would continue until all the regional MSP places are assigned." The percentage needed for a seat is not fixed and would depend on the way the votes are split between the various parties. A party standing on just the regional list would probably need at least 5% of the vote, For instance, in 2016, the Greens in NE Scotland got 4.9% of the vote and got no seats, but they did win a seat in West Scotland with 5.3%.

The current polls are looking broadly similar to the 2016 result but with the SNP having captured a bit of the Labour vote. Whether Ross is perceived as doing well or badly, I can't see those who have supported the Tories in the past not doing so again, nor can I see them attracting new support from elsewhere. I like Rennie, but politics has become increasingly polarised and folk just aren't voting for the middle ground these days. The Tories and Lib Dems are going to be largely irrelevant to the outcome. Sarwar is the key to this election. The SNP's success has been at the expense of Labour more than the other parties and hence it is Labour who are the party most likely to take votes from the SNP. Labour have been badly served by their leaders both at UK and Scottish level. Leonard was so poor that at FM questions he had more difficulty reading his questions than Sturgeon did in answering them. Sarwar has made an impressive start as leader and could well make some significant inroads into the SNP's lead. With Salmond taking a slice of the nationalist vote too, the SNP will do well if they manage to equal their vote share of 5 years ago.

This was a huge win for us today. At the start of the season the number 1 objective must simply have been survival as a club and then maintaining our position in the Championship. It has been a difficult season in so many ways, but this run of 10 points from 4 games means that a win away at Morton in the next league game should dispel any lingering concerns of relegation. We've looked pretty nervy at times in these last few games, but the hard graft has taken us to a position where we've really nothing to lose. It's been a great effort. Time now to do our neighbours OTB a good turn and knock them out of the cup so that they can focus on their relegation battle.

10 points in 4 games but we've only scored 3 goals in those games. We have not been creating much at all, but in the brief time Scott was on the pitch, he demonstrated some of the quality and vision we have been lacking. We have some tough games ahead and Scott may just have what it takes to get us into the playoffs at the end of the season.

Because the SNP are set to get so many MSPs as constituency MSPs, they are unlikely to get a large number through the Regional lists. If Salmond's party is only contesting the regional lists, then potentially they could secure a significant number of Regional seats leading to a large majority of pro-independence MSPs at Holyrood. On the other hand, if only a relatively low level of SNP supporters switch to Alba, Alba may not get enough votes to secure more than a very low number, but they might take enough votes from the Greens to wipe them out and enough from the SNP to reduce their number of Regional seats. The net effect of this might be to hand a majority to those opposed to independence. The Holyrood electoral system was devised to prevent the situation we frequently get at Westminster where a party with a minority of the votes gets a majority of the seats. No system is perfect though, and the current situation shows how a bit of tactical voting by a relatively small proportion of the electorate can radically change the composition of a Parliament designed to be more representative. It's all very interesting, but I am not going to be foolish enough to predict what the outcome will be.

Well, that was as poor as I've seen us play, but a win is a win. The conditions were a great leveller but Buckie showed far more desire than us across the park and more quality in the final third. We will need to play far better to beat Arbroath on Saturday in what is a really important game if we want to keep clear of the relegation zone.

Very blustery conditions and a bobbly pitch make it difficult to play good football. Buckie look dangerous from balls into the box. We need an early goal into the 2nd half to make things a little more comfortable.
