  1. The same journo has just tweeted that this deal is not now happening.

I noticed earlier today that Cheltenham released Terry Gornell. Who he? We tried to sign him in 2011 as the replacement for Adam Rooney, but he turned us down. Gornell was leaving Accrington at the time, but since then he has been very unprolific at a couple of clubs. Meanwhile ICT had to make do with some chap called Mckay. Also noticed that Alloa have loaned in ex-ICT/Falkirk/Dundee misfit Philip Roberts, as well as striker Greg Rutherford from Hartlepool, who a year or so ago someone on here said was about to join ICT.
  3. It was a year ago this weekend that we faced the Edinburgh side in the neutral venue of Edinburgh (for the 2nd year in a row). Got two players sent off, were losing in injury time, and then, well you know the rest. An absolutely incredible experience for any ICT fan who was there, and I dare say for those who weren't there as well. What are your memories of that day?

Yes, I agree with you. I'm sure we do put clauses in place, for number of games played or future sell-on fees - it's just that we don't always hear about them. I think we got a 'windfall' (although the actual figure wasn't disclosed) when Barry Robson moved to Celtic from Dundee United. I seem to recall that when we sold Don Cowie to Watford in the January window part of the deal was that we got an additional sum if they avoided relegation that season, which they did. I wouldn't be surprised if we at least tried to get something similar given Wigan's predicament.
  5. BBC match report says it should have been a penalty. "Pictures revealed that Reguero had indeed clipped Watkins and he struggled to retain his balance before tumbling."
  6. That's 4 points dropped in our 2 home games against the worst team in the league.
  7. I suspect very much we'll see a loanee coming in from England in the next couple of days. We won't pay transfer fees and there are so few free agents of good quality kicking around at this time of year that they tend to be in high demand. I'm not criticising the decision to selly Billy or release Sekajja, but it must be an extremely rare situation that a team in contention for a European place and not far off the top off the league finds itself going into a big game without any strikers - not because of bad luck or injuries, but because it effectively decided to put itself in that position!
  8. ICTFC Official Twitter: "Pitch passed as playable at 9:00am, however we will continue to monitor conditions as weather passes through during the morning."

I read that Billy's been handed Shaun Maloney's no. 10 shirt. Should be a good fit!

Time to start a new chant. "He leaves when he wants, he leaves when he waaaaaants...."

If you take last Saturday's starting line-up and assume we've seen the last of Billy, then none of our top 4 league goalscorers would be in the team! (Mckay 10, Wakins 6, Doran 5, Christie 3).
  12. It doesn't help ICT to publicly state Brill's condition, but it might help the opposition with their gameplan.

This medical seems to be taking a long time. Maybe Wigan are concerned about Mckays small "k"?
  14. If this was the first time it has come to this, could the beneficiaries be described as Guinea pigs?

I think I'm right in saying that since Billy's arrival at the start of season 2011/12, and despite his lack of goals in that first season, nobody has scored as many goals in our top flight. A quick bit of addition suggests he has 54 in that time, whilst Commons has 43, Michael Higdon 40 and Niall McGinn 36.

I've been getting all misty eyed watching Billy's goals from 2012/13 and 2013/14. If I were a Wigan fan watching those, I'd be absolutely wetting myself with excitement.

Ched Evans is still available - actually best not, cos 60,000 of our 3,000 fans would be in uproar!
  18. Souns like your missus did you a favour.
  19. Can you imagine being left without any credible, proven strikers? It would be like.......Ross County.
  20. That's according to journalist Pete O Rourke at least, who tweeted within the last hour: "Wigan are closing in on the signing of Inverness striker Billy McKay" Can't tell from that if he is suggesting PCA or immediate transfer.
  21. Option a)
  22. And not just Saturday. Shinnie decided several months ago that he would be moving on, and has probably known for a good few weeks (at least) that Aberdeen was his preferred destination. One of our very best and most consistent players throughout that timeframe.
  23. Interesting you should mention the Hamilton game. Entrance was only 10p as a tribute to the service departing manager Alex Neil and his assistant Frankie McAvoy had given to the club. The vice-chairman was quoted by the BBC as saying "We look forward to welcoming all our loyal supporters, and perhaps some new ones, to send Frankie, and Alex, off with the acclaim they deserve." Clearly they didn't want 2 great servants of their club to leave but they understood the guys wanted to develop their careers. Rather than being branded as traitors they were lauded for the service given over the years. Yes BUT Hamilton would not have taken that approach if the move was to Motherwell rather than Norwich, no way. It's also easy for a club to be gracious (and generous) when receiving a very hefty sum of compensation.
  24. He had no choice but to sign for Aberdeen after the Richard Donald Stand displayed this chilling banner for him. (For those that don't know, it was actually Standard Liege fans that did this to welcome a club legend who signed for rivals Anderlecht)
  25. Can't blame him for doubling his wages (apparently) but somewhat puzzling that he had a more lucrative offer to play at a higher level down south (also apparently) but opted to join our rivals instead.
