  1. No, they saw the "incident" but not the offence. Anyway, the charge failed at the first hurdle, and we'll never know if it would also have failed at the 2nd and 3rd hurdles ie proving that it was deliberate and would have been a goal.
  2. Full text of the statement: The chair of the Judicial Panel Tribunal convened to hear the Notice of Complaint against John Meekings has issued the following note of reasons: “Further to the judicial panel hearing yesterday involving Josh Meekings, the panel considered initial submissions from Mr Meekings’ solicitor. In particular it was argued by him that under protocol 13.4.1.1 the judicial panel was not entitled to determine the matter. The panel considered that as the incident (but not the actual alleged sending-off offence of handball) had been seen by one or more of the officials it was not entitled to consider the matter further. It accordingly dismissed the complaint without any consideration of the merits of the incident or the decision arrived at by the referee.”
  3. Living in Perth, it was great to be surrounded by all the cup final buzz and build up last May, and it made me very envious that ICT weren't in the final. Perth is quite similar to Inverness in terms of being a similar sized place that generally doesn't have a huge amount of interest in its football team, even one which punches above its weight. But the whole place got right into the cup final spirit, with schools, shops, local papers, the council etc all getting involved, so I really hope Inverness can rise to the occasion and for once give the team the backing it deserves.
  4. He could emulate Jean-Marc Bosman in becoming synonymous with a certain situation. Fan 1: "Is Smithy not suspended for this week's game?" Fan 2: "Nah, he's available on a Meekings."
  5. It's even worse than that - they also knocked us out of both cups in 08/09, meaning they ended our participation in all 3 tournaments that season!
  6. From BBC interview with Vincent Lunny, the former compliance officer. Lunny revealed that it is is the first time under the current disciplinary system that a notice of complaint has been issued for an allegedly deliberate handball. "It is the very first one of the four years of protocol," he told BBC Radio Scotland's Sportsound programme. "It's been discussed previously in theory at the various annual reviews." ".....but the SFA have only decided now to exercise their right to punish someone for handball because Celtic have made such a fuss" he might have added.
  7. ***EXCLUSIVE*** That letter from Celtic to the SFA has now come to light!
  8. Nah it was 3-2 in normal time, with us scoring early and late and them being in control for pretty much the rest of it.
  9. More recently, Adam Rooney was very reliable. Sneckboy we need some stats here!
  10. Here's my "glass half empty" thought for the day. We've now played 6 semi-final matches in the major cups, and over 90 minutes we failed to win any of them!

We could bemuse the global TV audience and revive one of my favourite chants from when we were regulars at the Falkirk Stadium, "I'd rather have a monster than a wheel!"
  12. Do you mean for the league cup final? When it was St J v Dundee Utd in last year's SC, Network Rail arranged engineering works for cup final day and closed the line between Perth and Glasgow.
  13. It's interesting how high the crowds have been for non-OF finals, but they've usually involved one of Scotland's other better supported teams. I think this final will be only the 2nd in 80 years not to include a team from one of the big 4 cities. Another way of looking at is that the participants this year each get only about 3,000 home fans at their bog standard league matches, and that combined core support of 6,000 must surely be the lowest ever Scottish Cup Finalists and will lead to the lowest ever attendance.
  14. One of the many incredible things about all this is that, amazing as yesterday was, it is still only my 3rd favourite Scottish Cup victory over Celtic.
  15. We've got some great ones to choose from!
  16. Interview with Raven reveals he got cramp in his groin when he scored the winner. I will dutifully offer my services to provide any massage required!
  17. Well done to Sportscene for demonstrating what Tansey and everybody in our end knew at the time when we got a free kick outside their box - that the ref allowed the wall to be far too close, only 7.9 yards from the ball!
  18. A blessing in the end, you didn't miss much.
  19. We'll need extra capacity for all of Tansey and Raven's Liverpudlian mates, as it transpires they'll be free that day after all.
  20. He's the LAST player you'd have wanted that chance to fall to, but thankfully he was up to it. Just the 3rd goal of his 11 year career - what a moment for him, and for us!
  21. Tremendous team performance and by all the individuals involved. But Graeme Shinnie = PURE CLASS. Nobody wanted this more than him and it would be entirely fitting for his last act as an ICT player to be the lifting of the Scottish Cup.
  22. We'll be playing Falkirk in the final.
  23. The Record actually followed it up with an April Fool story on the same topic, saying that Airdrie fans with tattoos of the club crest would be forced to remove them! Trouble is, it wasn't much more ridiculous than the original story.
  24. Can't abide these glory hunting part-timers! I recall sitting next to you at our first semi-final v Dundee, when you flew in from China. This was at the time when H5N1 Bird Flu was sweeping through the Far East, and you kept on sneezing! Hopefully this time you won't be bringing Nipah Virus with you.
