Lucky, lucky Celtic
[terrible, contrived tabloid headline alert!] [obscure literary reference alert!] If Celtic get knocked out tonight because their striker scores an own goal, would that be a Maribor Stokes Nightmare? By way of an apology, I will not only fetch me coat I will also provide my own tumbleweed. :tumbleweed:

I'm genuinely surprised that none these guys ever featured for County! Speaking of which, remember Mark Hately? Milan.....Monaco.....Rangers.....Dingwall.

The ultimate journeyman
I caught part of a radio interview the other day with an eccentric sounding foreign keeper who had some great stories to tell. I missed his name but later googled some of his former clubs to identify him as Lutz Pfannenstiel. Can't say I can recall ever hearing of him before, but what an interesting career he had, which including "dying" on the pitch after a collision. His aim was always to play as much as possible, never setling for a place on the bench, and that led him all over the world to rack up a remarkable 25 clubs before he retired at 36. He would often play all year round by moving continents when one season ended, and became the first footballer to play in all 6 FIFA confederations. He spent over 3 months in a hellish Asian jail fighting for food and fending off rape attempts, after charges of match-fixing. The odd thing is he was accused of conspiring to win games! After asking to be released from a contract in Albania, he claims the chairman pulled out a gun and said "Let's negotiate!" The fans there were apparently crazy: one week, after a win they gave him an eagle, then soon afterwards after a defeat they put bricks through his window. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17593237 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lutz_Pfannenstiel If I was a footballer I'm sure I'd find that sort of career to be more rewarding than going to Kilmarnock and Motherwell every few weeks!

6 months since Celtic last lost to a Scottish side (Aberden) and 20 months since they failed to score in the league.- Inverness CT -V- Celtic
They've been reading this forum! As Sneckboy said last Saturday: "It'll be very difficult to keep Celtic quiet for a full 90 mins next week - but if we can....we'll be close to our all-time shut-out record! Let's say we do keep a 'clean sheet' on Saturday - that will be our current 418 + 90 = 508 minutes. Tantalisingly close to our record of 513! That was set back in 2006."- Inverness CT -V- Celtic
Fantastic result. You can only beat what's put in front of you. That doesn't apply to Celtic though, who couldn't beat what was put in front of them.- Summer transfer targets
According to a Facebook account of the same name, for a footballer from Port Harcourt (home of Dolphins), he actually lives in Edinburgh. Profile photo looks like him in what seems to be a Stoke away top from 2011/12.- Ex-ICT players' news
I nearly crashed into Big Marv half an hour ago! Was at the roundabout near Broxden services, presumably he was stopping there on his way up to Elgin for their game today. This vehicle pulled out when it shouldn't have done, forcing me to brake, so I had a look at who was driving and thought he looked familiar, then I noticed a Trinidad flag sticker in the back window and a personalised number plate along the lines of SOCA as in Socca Warriors. As for why he pulled out when he shouldn't have......maybe God told him to go!- Summer transfer targets
Dundee Evening Telegraph has reported that St Johnstone are looking at our former trialist Ayina.- Summer transfer targets
Or the unsafest, given his history of injuries.- Ex-ICT players' news
Dargo's goals per game ratio: At ICT: 0.6 After ICT: 0.1 What a waste of talent. All because St Mirren offered a higher wage.- Derek Adams - going, going.....gone!

Sorry for reviving this old thread - well I'm not actually, cos it still makes great reading I was surprised to see the other day that Steve Marsella is still at Hibs - but he has effectively been demoted, now reporting in to Graeme Mathie who Alan Stubbs has brought in to be responsible for scouting and recruitment. It appears that Stubbs was pretty appalled at the scouting set-up he inherited, saying that player recruitment will no longer be done "based on Wikipedia and one person's opinion." Ouch!- Motherwell -v- Inverness CT

What an optimist he is! Scored with a deflected effort when it was 5-0 in the 2nd half, but runs into the net to retrieve the ball and sprints back to the half way line, punching the air towards the Utd fans as if to say the comeback is on!- Motherwell -v- Inverness CT
