  1. Didn't he say recently that he wants to play in the African Cup of Nations? I don't think even Walter Smith could get us into that tournament!
  2. Well the cursed award went to Craig Brown, whilst Aberdeen also got both of the best player prizes. Since the matches which earned them the award, they have been knocked out of the cup by St Mirren and then lost to County.
  3. It's amusing to see that Skybet have Steve Paterson (66/1) ahead of Sir Alex Ferguson (100/1) in the race for the Scotland job. Could Pele take us to Brazil?!
  4. Yes, we will make the 5th round.
  5. Levein gone, so let the debate recommence!
  6. This the 4th time we've been in a cup draw this season and the 4th time we've been drawn away from home.
  7. With the Edinburgh derby bound to be televised I would expect our game to be on the Saturday (1 December).
  8. Not the draw I wanted TBH.
  9. Wooah, it's County away!

I was wondering how prolific A Shinnie had been before joining us, and basically he wasn't, at all. One goal from 30 odd loan appearances for Dundee in Division 1. I remember when we were up against him and he didn't strike any fear into me back then. It may just be the case that he was playing a less advanced role, and for a less advanced club. But it does seem pretty clear that he is improving all the time.
  11. Well after 2 weeks on trial in pre-season training, Lionel failed to impress and has been sent home by Sriwijaya. So he's back on the market, and do we not need a back-up for the rampaging G Shinnie?

With ICT currently being the league's top scorers, it's unsurprising that we have players in the top scorers table. But nice to see all the same. 11 Leigh Griffiths 7 Michael Higdon 6 Andrew Shinnie 6 Niall McGinn 5 Billy McKay 5 Richie Foran 5 Cillian Sheridan It's a healthier state of affairs to have several players getting the goals rather than being dependent on an Adam Rooney. Draper is not too far behind with 3 as well. When was the last time there were no old firm players near the top of the scorers table? Also note the absence of Tade this season. He's obviously been focusing on the Europa League run he left us for. Looks like I was completely wrong about Mackay, I think I said back in the summer that we won't score many goals if we are relying on him and he's a 5 goals a season striker at best. Who is going to end up our top scorer then?
  13. Indeed, the real question is not about who we will sign but who we can keep hold of. The likes of A Shinnie and Draper have been attracting an awful lot of attention. Let's enjoy them while they are here, anything beyond this season is a bonus.
  14. The semi that does not involve Celtic might be held away from Hampden.
  15. It seems madness that we are as much as 40/1 whilst The Rangers are 6/1.
  16. Better a smartass than a dumbass.

The only Rooney-esque unstoppable penalty I've seen from us this season was Gavin Morrison's in the Stenny shoot-out.
  18. Where did Graeme place his penalty, was it the same side as at Ibrox?
  19. Terry must be in with a good chance of being awarded SPL MotM for October. ICT, Aberdeen and St Johnstone all got 2 wins and a draw in the SPL, a better record than anyone else. Lomas got the award for September so I doubt he'll get it again. Its an SPL award so I don't think League Cup results are meant to be taken into account, but I'm sure our victory at Ibrox will be noted by the judges. The manner of our victories and the attractive style of football must also count in our favour. So whilst I think these awards are a bit of nonsense, I reckon Terry will be claiming the champagne (or whatever he gets) for the first time since October 2010...shortly after which I think our season started to go dramatically downhill. Any of our players in with a chance of an award?

How many penalties have been awarded this season? Loads, far more than any other team. How many were we awarded in the whole of last season? Hardly any at all. Why the dramatic turnaround? Interesting to get Kenny Shiels take on it today. (BBC) Shiels said that, if he gave his opinion on the referee's decision, "he could bear a grudge against me" but praised Caley Thistle manager Terry Butcher for his own relationship with officialdom. "I know Terry was complaining that they did not get penalty kicks and I don't think he's got into any trouble yet," he said. "He's politically unbelievably good, how he deals with the press and how he deals with referees. "It's working for him and his work with the referees is outstanding and he's done really well there - I wish I knew the secret." Shiels is a bitter man, and a very vocal fool. It is fair to say that Terry is excellent when it comes to the media side of things, but lets not forget that even he recently got a suspension for comments he made, so he's certainly no golden boy. And to suggest that Terry's approach generates favourable decisions is just plain nonsense. We may well have had a bit of luck with the odd 50:50 call, where last season we got none at all, but I think the increase in the number of penalties is really just a case of fortune favouring the brave. The way we now play football results in us spending more time than before on the attack, and patiently in possession of the ball on the ground in the opponents box, where we have several tricky players who can be a real handful. The outcome is so often inevitable. All we need now is a more reliable penalty taker.

Don't disagree, but our first SPL game at TCS v Aberdeen had a crowd of over 7,000. And technically our first home SPL game against them had nearly 10,000!
  22. Another fantastic result. What a run we are on! Well done guys, you've certainly earned your chips at Auchterarder this week.

    Novelty factor for both sides.
