  1. When you see the video, he doesn't seems as keen to stay as the transcript suggests, IMO.
  2. Answers my previous question about the Irishman's accent!
  3. If we're going to play practical jokes on players then do it properly, like this! From BBC : A prominent journalist in Kyrgyzstan is bringing criminal charges against newspaper reporters who abducted and threatened to kill her as a practical joke for their newspaper. Nazira Aytbekova, who presents an entertainment programme on Kyrgyz state TV, told the BBC she was kidnapped at gunpoint and taken to wasteland. She says she is still "shaken and humiliated" by the incident. The two reporters have been sacked and have apologised for their actions. Ms Aytbekova said that her abductors blindfolded her on Tuesday near the capital Bishkek and forced her to strip to her underwear while holding a gun to her head. "They took off the sack from my head and said: 'Sing!' I refused. They told me to dance and somebody was standing behind me and constantly poked the gun at my head." Ms Aytbekova says her ordeal got even worse when the men threatened to kill her. "They said to me: 'OK, say your last words. And then we'll shoot you.'"
  4. Actually its not funny, he did his ankle again when removing them.
  5. That's next season I think.
  6. BBC highlights now up. Enjoy. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-union/20175124
  7. Next question, where would you want the semi to be played? I think the parties involved can agree to have the game away from Hampden. Obviously if it is Celtic there is really no option. But say we get St Mirren, which would you prefer - a big day out to an empty Hampden, a more atmospheric Tynie or the shorter journey to a packed McDiarmid? If we get Hearts I guess Tannadice might be the alternative.
  8. Complimentary article here on Butcher compared to McCoist. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/20164993 The sometimes volatile Englishman sought out a newspaper journalist after Wednesday's match to gently remind him of a description used about his players following their defeat by Celtic. "Sunday League players" and "hoofers" were the phrases that seemed to rankle and perhaps fortunately, Butcher could not locate said journalist.
  9. Agreed. Plenty of other clubs have welcomed our fans into their stadium bars. It is stipulated that it would only be opened up to away fans for quieter games and where the police consider the risk to be low, so I don't see how they would have a problem with it in principle.
  10. I have a recollection that the net gate receipts for both semis are pooled and shared equally amongst the 4 teams, in which case the payday is the same regardless.
  11. Here's a question, which of those The Rangers players would get a place in our team?
  12. Hearts are in a precarious financial position and when the semis take place at the end of the January there is a chance that their squad could be weaker than at present.
  13. Aye, Ronald Villiers and his chum provided me with as much entertainment as the actual game did. You'd expect them to focus on Rangers but they were bitter and ungracious throughout. GIRFUY!
  14. Loved hearing the Rangers TV commentators say that it's the league that matters and they now have Alloa and Peterhead to look forward to.
  15. Andy got fouled, Graeme scored it.
  16. "The only man in Ibrox who saw that as a penalty" GIRFUY Rangers TV, what a pair of tools.
  17. There were Arsenal fans on the radio this morning who left when it was 4-2 and weren't allowed back in
  18. Crikey, those goalposts are a bit old fashioned.
  19. Blimey! This makes it onto my list of "newspaper stories I never expected to see".
  20. Issuing shares actually has no bearing at all on the reported loss - but it was a vital source of cash that enabled the loss to be accomodated without unpleasant consequences.
  21. We made a loss of £378,000 last season, which was worse than the previous year due to a decrease in revenues and an increase in wage costs. How does that happen when we must have saved a fortune on win bonuses! Obviously not a good result, but shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. What will the current season bring, with nearly every major source of income appearing to be down? It could be worse, we could be Hearts - they lose millions a year, have massive debts, struggle to pay their wages and and are now being pursued for £2m by HMRC having not accounted for UK PAYE/NI on loaned in players. A director says "administration is not in the agenda" which I interpret to mean administration is very much on the agenda.
  22. No, the budget was just set at a lower level than the previous year.
  23. Hayes is lucky to be credited with that one, cross/shot wasn't going in until it was diverted by a defender.
