Dani Sanchez
I think most of us would have expected Dani to move back to Spain's lower leagues, but he has gone on trial with Wellington Phoenix, who play in Australia's A League. Wellington's manager Ricki Herbert is also the NZ national team manager, and played against Scotland in Spain '82. Seems Dani played in a pre-season friendly just a couple of hours after his plane landed. NZ Herald Very best of luck to him, he seems like a good guy and whenever he got a game for ICT he didn't do much wrong.

Ah yes, the all important "forgotten man" role!

the PaulieB's
Aww, fantastic news, delighted for them. Well done to all 3 involved. Someone should warn them they'll be seeing so much green sh1t over the next few days, they'll think they're watching Hibs. :baby:

Shewsbury Town sign striker Terry Gornell.
This article seems to confirm that theory. Lancashire Telegraph

Aaron Doran
Actually, we could add new forums dedicated to certain players - the Foran Forum, the Doran Forum, Tansey Fanzine etc

Shewsbury Town sign striker Terry Gornell.
Shrewsbury announced yesterday that they agreed terms with Gornell but the sticking point holding up the transfer is that they have so far been unable to agree compensation with Stanley. Even if it falls through, I susepct the prospect of a move to ICT is dead.

You'll no be playing cricket up here, son.

Double signing
Interview with Josh's Dad a few days ago for their local paper. Couple of points of interest - Terry got the tip off from his Ipswich mate Russell Osman, and Meekings is with us because a move to Stevenage fell through. Haverhill Echo

Aaron Doran
But getting back on topic, Sam Allardyce said back in October when talking about youngsters trying to break through into the Blackburn first team: Kean then replaced Allardyce as manager, and not long after punted Aaron out on loan to us. Even though he is young enough to improve further, I'm not sure he is in Blackburn's long term plans and might be best advised to drop a level or two to establish himself somewhere and get regular games. And lets be honest, whilst he looked good for us, on the whole he didn't look Premiership quality. Not often enough, anyway. A Premiership quality winger should be ripping up the SPL and really standing out a lot more than he did. How does he compare with Jonny Hayes for example? Hayes will probably move to a bigger club in the next year or so, but you'd expect it to be Championship at best. What I'm saying is, I won't be surprised to see Doran being loaned or sold by Blackburn this month. So it's well worth making an enquiry.

Aaron Doran
Love it. But "Aaron Brian Doran Cogan" is just about the Trumpton fire brigade in his own right!

Positions/Players Needed for Next Season
At time of year we normally put some youngsters out on loan, and I'm sure Terry has had that in mind when assessing them in the games so far. Who would Elgin want? Who would want to go to Elgin?

Don Cowie
Think he was out of contract so we wouldn't have got anything anyway.

How much is a goodwillie really worth
Like any valuation it goes up and down, and you've got to time your move correctly. Demand too much and the other party might find it too hard to swallow. By all accounts he's quite a handful, but I hope the pressure of a bigger club doesn't make him flop. Competition for places is always tough, but I'm sure if anyone is able to force his way in, it's him.

Trialists
I'm sure we'll see quite a few more trialists coming and going in the next few weeks. Incidentally, what are the chances of us signing a player we are familiar with and who we can be pretty confident will improve the team? It just doesn't seem to happen these days. Not since Ritchie Foran perhaps.

Trialists
I think Tansey is supposed to sign today, officially.

Rooney offski - confirmed
To cheer us up, here's a reminder of what we'll be "missing".

Another Hearts player misbehaving
I had a recollection that he had. I take he's been removed from the wall display of "famous ex-pupils" and won't be invited back to present the prizes at sports day etc?

Shewsbury Town sign striker Terry Gornell.
Gornell hasn't signed for anyone yet as far as I can see, but it kind of sounds like we've given up. Just speculating, but is it possible that this fell through for us because we discovered that Stanley would be due compensation? Tansey was also under 23, but we were able to get him free only because of a cross-border transfer loophole whereby Stockport hadn't offered him a new contract more than 60 days before his old one expired. Don't know if that was the case with Gornell. Any English team will definitely have to pay Stanley, and perhaps the current position is that he has agreed to join the Shrews but they are negotiating compensation with Stanley before finalising the deal.

Shewsbury Town sign striker Terry Gornell.
But he was Terry's first choice, so isn't the obvious consequence that we end up signing someone who the manager thinks isn't as good?

Shewsbury Town sign striker Terry Gornell.
Feck, that's a spanner in the works. Now where do we go?

Rooney offski - confirmed
Delighted for him, great news And it shows other potential signings that joining ICT can lead to much better things.
