  1. Having seen the highlights, I'm not sure Tade was offside at all. It's hard to tell, but he looks to be level with the defender who is next to the keeper. And you'll note that none of the Pars claimed for offside, they just dropped their heads and started their walk back for the restart.

    You beat me to it!
  3. Blimey, looks like the Tottenham fans are pretty darn unhappy with this draw.
  4. The Ramsdens Cup is the new Bells Challenge Cup. Not for big teams like us!
  5. Has anyone actually seen confirmation that Tade was offside for his tap in? I wasn't really paying attention to Tade's position when Foran headed, as it didn't seem relevant at the time.
  6. Well I was thoroughly entertained today. A few things Terry needs to sort out, but we have the makings of a decent team there. Can't see either of these teams going down. I was a bit disappointed in Jonesy after hearing such good things about him. Should be an immense phsical presence in the middle, but just didn't seem involved enough. Also disappointed that the Pars wing play (Cardle & Burns?) was better than ours, Hayes and Doran were wasteful far too often. Hayes doesn't seem able to beat a man any more (not fully fit?), and Doran was really ineffective. But Johnny looked very sharp to pounce for the 2nd goal. Full marks to Tade for levels of effort and energy that put others to shame. Don't know if that will be enough though. Oh, and Barrowman is still a waste of space. He had his chance to show us what we are missing, and certainly did that when he got the ball in a good attacking position and ran it out for a throw in.
  7. It's ironic, and incredible, that football clubs going bust only became a regular occurrence once huge amounts of money started pouring into the game. Prior to the 1990's, clubs generally lived within their means. The movement in money since then is basically: Fans - worse off, paying more at the gate Armchair fans - worse off, through paying TV subscriptions Investors/club owners - worse off, having pumped much of their fortunes down the drain in pursuit of glory Clubs - worse off, most are in debt and run at a loss Players - here's where all the money's gone! Agents - don't get me started. At least the players have talent.
  8. Apparently Rangers latest European humiliation is actually bad news for us, financially. UEFA make payments to the leagues which provide the teams in the group stages of the CL, which then get shared out amongst all the teams in the league.
  9. That's the lippy gaun oan.... Buffy x My choice of make-up is none of your business!
  10. Our first win in 6 games!
  11. My first game for months!
  12. Scotty added one not long after IHE joined the site!
  13. I always used to enjoy trips to Forfar. Wouldn't mind East Fife either, as I've never been to the Methildome.
  14. It was just the SPL. Blackburn were ?17.50 for the same day out, thanks to ?10 match tickets. SPL price league table But I wonder, are they really comparing like for like ticket prices? How do I actually get a ?16 ticket for ICT next time I come up? And is there really no way of paying less than the standard ?21 for St Johnstone? The survey relies on how each club's office staff filled in the questionnaire. And the title of the this thread should really be about the cheapest football day out. Value for money is something else, and takes into account the quality of the product - which remains to be seen!
  15. The other news from Tynecastle is that rather than sacking Craig Thomson, he's just been sent on loan to Kaunas for 3 months.

Getting (slightly) back on topic, were the Home Fans well catered for? With it being first home game of the season, I was half expecting to see a topic about high prices, slow service, burnt pies, running out of stock etc. Does the silence mean they got it right? Or have we just learnt to have low expectations?

  18. You expected flack, and thoroughly deserve it, mun. One of the most ridiculous suggestions of all time!
  19. When I saw that Wales was the diddy team in our group, with Macedonia the next "easiest", I thought here we go, it'll be Spain, France, Argentina and Barcelona next, but the rest of the draw was actually pretty good for us. From top to bottom it's about as even a group as you can get, and all the teams will take points off each other. Anything could happen.
  20. If he continues to do well at Birmingham, I would certainly consider giving him a second chance here.
  21. So is it time for Terry to re-sign?
  22. feck feck feck how did we lose this?
  23. My thought for the day : it's curious how the words "resign" and "re-sign" are so similar, yet so different.

You've looked like one for years. Well done to all concerned.
