  1. What seasons were these? As for those saying the expectation this year was avoiding relegation, I'll repeat myself and point out how close we were to the UEFA Cup last time out, our expectations were much higher this year as they should've been. Butcher had his rocky spells, lets not forget during our "transitional" season that saw the influx from down south and the departure of the old guard we spent a large chunk of time bottom of the table and struggling to win and keep players on the field...no matter how well we played. Some people wanted him gone for what he was doing and the board backed him by giving him a new 2 year contract and after that season he never looked back. Under Butcher we climbed our way back up, held our own and beat some odds but it was probably a full 3 seasons before he got us anywhere near to fulfilling our potential. Im not saying its gonna be that long under Yogi and tbh after seeing this team at there best there would be no excuse for taking that long to get them playing like that again but patience really is necessary at a time like this. The only extensive time Yogi will get with the players to implement ideas and strategies without the pressure of the league is pre season, as well as recruiting some new bodies. Only after this has been should we really judge him. Where have I ever said I was a fan of Butcher? The transitional season you're talking about had Dunfermline in the relegation spot for the entire season unless my memory has failed me, we were never in any danger of going down. Our first season back in the SPL had us challenging for 3rd right up until the new year, so its not as if it took 3 years for Butcher to turn it around. I don't dispute the transitional season being a downer but necessary, when he was questioned on his approach, he had already earned the right to do what he wanted with the squad having gotten us straight back up in one season imo, Hughes has nothing in his track record to automatically deserve the fans respect.
  2. Under what circumstances would you call Hughes position to be questioned?

  4. How about a goal once every 8 hours of football?
  5. For the record, at the time Butcher left I was delighted and I suspect form the excitement on these boards at the time most other people were as well, I never sensed any sort of disillusionment after he left. It was the right time for him to go and it was the right time to bring in somebody new to stop us being complacent and falling into the trap of having terrible downturns midway through the season, which we had for all but 1 of Terrys time in charge (when we got promoted). Nobody in defence of Hughes should ask 'what would Butcher have done differently?', Butcher wasnt an option, he had left.
  6. Maybe if you want to use Aberdeen or ex Aberdeen you should maybe consider Fergies start at Man U. If you lot were on MU's forum at the time, no doubt you would have had him ... 'Lost the dressing room' ... 'lost the fans' .... ' lost the plot' BUT the boy did good! Well sort of good anyway! I however am concerned about our goal drought and our silly mistakes at the back but rather than sack the man, I would prefer to see less teeth at the dugout and more fist waving from him. He does come over as a players pal and that is not always a good management platform. HAd hughes won the Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen in the recent past, I think we would go a bit lighter on him lol.
  7. Come on now lads, get behind the Boys! Together we achieve!
  8. Whats laughable about asking this question? Plenty of players have come and gone in less time than Hughes has been here, nobody should be immune to review at any stage of their tenure at any level. I suspect the SPFL Chairman of the Year will not be questioning anything himself far as Hughes role is concerned until well into the summer if at all, as it will be an admission he made a mistake. Had Hughes had a better CV coming into the job then I would give him more time. That said, even I can admit at this stage heshould be given until the end of the season to see what he can do to turn things around.
  9. At the start of this season the expectations were far higher than avoiding relegation, don't forget we only missed out on Europe on the final day.
  10. We were in second place clear by 5 points when he came in and already in the semi final of the league cup, which we got through against the worst team in the SPL on penalties. Dress it up however you want, the fact is Kenny Cameron has made a terrible appointment, the media blackout during the process and the assistant manager farce was just the prelude to what we will see between now and May.
  11. Calling Yogi a retard was a bit strong so I apologise for that but the rest of my post stands, we have 10(?) games left, 30 points up for grabs, 2nd is back on as far as I'm concerned.
  12. Motherwell away tomorrow, win that and our game in hand and we will be above them on goal difference. ATM we are 9 points behind Aberdeen and have to play them again in the top 6. To finish 2nd, we need Aberdeen to drop 3 points, otherwise its in our hands, time to put alot of the pish thats gone on behind us and start again. We're lumbered with a retard in the dugout but we arent dead yet.
  13. I thought it was pretty funny tbh. Both what he said as well as the man himself.
  14. I might have been hallucinating at the time but was there not talk of moving the train station and opening up all the land currently occupied by thin air between Longman Road, Millburn Road and Harbour Road? Maybe in another dimension we have a stadium there.
  15. I'm sure staying at Telford Street was never a serious option, not in the face of some blazers 'vision' of the future.
  16. I suspect the same. The more I hear about the merger process and the ambitions and ideas tabled at the time, the more I'm convinced the whole project was hijacked by clueless idiots at each stage. Especially with regards the stadium design, cost and location. I wonder if we would have stayed and developed Telford Street had we known a Victoria Park sized site was all that we required? I don't think the 10,000 seat rule was in place until later but I'm sure somebody will correct me on that.
  17. I've never understood the traffic opposition issue with regards to possible stadium sites, theres stadiums of 50,000+ seats in city centers all over the world. Even in Scotland theres plenty of bigger stadiums than ours in "poor" locations. etc etc
  18. CaleyD playing hardball now...! I'll up my fee to £30 for a donate button.
  19. I'll be able to do that in 2015 when my debit card I already have linked/blocked on paypal expires lol.
  20. Same story here wynthank15, even after jumping through all of their hoops, the paypal account remains dead in the water.
  21. Everytime you spend bitcoin you increase the value of the rest of your bitcoin. No matter how convoluted it can be, its worth spending them every chance you get. As long as you've the means to replace them at the same price of course. Just a tad off topic...!
  22. CaleyD's minus happyclapper slogans.
  23. It'll take you 2-5 minutes once you get into paypal CaleyD. It's worth at least £20 for the flag even if I'm the only one who uses it! Get google checkout, nochex, merchantinc, skrill, bitcoin even... paypal is prehistoric.
  24. Agree with Renegade. Presume CJT have paid a few quid towards the flag to have their logo on it?
  25. Its hard if you dont have a paypal account lol. All they have to do is click on merchant services, all the links are there to create a donate button that can be posted here, I think they even have a forum code option. Rather than having to have a non-locked paypal account and be logged in to send money, a link will take you to a new page where you can either pay via paypal or by using a credit card. Could be done in about 2 minutes.
