  1. if he pulls off this new stand deal then he'll secure their finances virtually forever. the fact there will be residential flats and a hotel on the site will make tynecastle one of the most valuable stadiums in scotland, theres also the potential to develop the other three stands in the same way if the main stand redevelopment comes off. its costing them 51 million, the club are already in debt to the tune of 12 million now gordons gone, the plan is for the new development to make enough profit to pay the clubs debt and have the remaining debt transfered to the new flats/hotels/corporate bit, which will have a real market value far in excess of whatevers left over. the group that romanov owns is growing all over europe, the mans personal wealth will be taking off big time over the next few years ..does that qualify him to run a football club? clearly not! he wont leave hearts in the lurch though, he has a long term plan for the club and im sure all these dodgey lithuanian managers are a short term fix before the club can really start prospering. if i was a hearts fan id be pretty excited right now
  2. apparently hes playing for the dons today :015: what an opportunity to gain some support from his new clubs fans
  3. ... and another misses that we signed cowie fast, intelligent, fit, eye for goal.. maturing into a player who looks as though he can gel with tokely to give us a good 5 years of quality on the right hand side? not sure where zander fits in with my plan :017: between him and baz coming off the bench then i have to say sorry wilson its time to do a golly and go on loan in january nobodies allowed to tell me thats harsh.. stuart was our leader through the most important period in our short history, when his time was up we punted him with no fuss whatsoever, barrys next
  4. though they do get to vote in a president, who has to campaign for the position by telling the fans what they will do for the club that others couldnt.... im not going to get into that, ive only got 1 weekend off this week :017:
  5. im not sure the barcelona model would work for a club with 6-7,000 fans max people leave barca money in their wills ffs
  6. DC> you give don no mention? he will be first choice right mid this season and will start over 30 games scoring 7 goals :003: its true
  7. so if duncan shearer is his number 2, does that mean when aberdeen part with calderwood in 18 months time brew goes there and we get shearer and wilson as the new tag team? or does shearer goto aberdeen with brew? :024: hmm.. its a complicated one, nobody really knows which way the sh1tes going to hit the fan next, or perhaps the sh1te will just be piling ontop of more sh1te until we finally get our heads round the fact cronyism aint working? time will tell
  8. its decided then, me and king caley are going to get into property see ye in 10 years alex :sillywave: :017:
  9. david proctor? :015:
  10. if the question is 'should the people decide either way' then theres no argument at all
  11. i never said we'd go down, i dont think we will, but the post i replied to said its (edit! - NOT) something we have to worry about when clearly it is
  12. you want to have a look at the league table
  13. its because we over estimate how successful people are while in inverness guys who have suffered from the 'curse' like proctor, hislop, pele, robbo etc all had their problems and obvious shortfalls while in the employment of ict
  14. hello... hello brewster muct go brewster must go :sillywave:
  15. barry wilson
  16. go to the game smee and give brew as much sh1t as you can :022:
  17. of course he received death threats alex, we all know that and its as good a reason to do anything in life, nermind giving up a game of football i think the part of that statement you missed out was "attempt to bridge gaps" im going to try and find some of his quotes from that period, when he speaks about it Man and Bhoy his language is about 30 years out of date compared with the recent political situation in northern ireland (even 5-6 years ago) and panders to every stereotypical oppressed catholic stereotype going. there was actually never any evidence of a death threat, yet he still tears into the environment and the political establishment in northern ireland, who had been doing a f#ckload to route out bigotry from the ruc and the wider province at the time. if he had gotten involved with the campaigns to change the place with other football people like sammy mcilroy or gerry armstrong then he would of had a **** of alot more respect. if he doesnt want any part of it, then thats fair enough, it takes a brave man to bring about change and not everybody is cut out to do it. what gets me is that instead of making a stand against the bigots, what he actually did was profit and make a career that focused as much on a background and an upbringing that he was so far removed from by the time he was at celtic, as his footballing ability
  18. rightly or wrongly (wrongly) the man carries so much baggage this side of the border he would be a burden to any other club other than celtic if he had made more of an attempt to bridge gaps or make ammends for leaving the NI international scene then he may have had a future up here, but he played on his background to carry favor with the celts support through his many on field sh1te spells even if he had taken on the role of pantomine villan he couldve got away with it, but there was always something more sinister with him if grassa, savage or whoever honestly made an approach then they shouldnt be in a position to decide on the next employee to run the first team, it was a terrible lack of judgement which thankfully wasnt recipricated by lennons advisers. could you image in the bile that would spew forth on these pages from both sides of the old firm if the approach had gone any further? could you imagine the effect on the club and fans at every other ground in scotland? we arent ready for that kind of attention, no club outside the old firm is, a state of affairs helped least of all by the man himself
  19. shouldnt that be spelled '*******' petitions people are entitled to have their say no matter their emotional state, after all its just a football game and nothing more, if we were having an impassioned debate about britains involvement in iraq or the un's lack of action in sudan then perhaps calling for everybody to calm down would be appropriate... but no here we're talking about a football club and its future. football clubs dont operate in the real world, they have a totally unique client base and an unprecedented ability to draw media attention that sets them apart from any other form of entertainment or business. its madness does have its casualties, this week thats charlie christie, who was letting the fake overpaid world of football get ontop of his real life and had to call it a day. the rest of the circus is carrying on as normal without him and if im totally honest ive loved every minute of it this week; from the legal posturing from the club against the mods, the media speculation regarding brewster/warnock, the realisation of many that one of the last true caley/thistle men have quit the club, conspiracy theories, bitterness, calls for the head of this and that person all the in-sniping and petitions/votes everywhere on on the board with unresolved on field issues like defensive cover, marius, rory etc all still lingering....... this has probably been the most confusing and interesting week i can ever remember as an ict fan and im 100% confident that no matter the managerial appointment this weekend we will come out of it a **** of alot stronger. ive been calling for things to be shaken up for a long time, both on and off the park, i think that when we reflect on the last few days later in the season it'll only serve to highlight how boring and predictable a club we were to support under charlie christie (i have to say that it wasnt his fault) its interesting that the club seem to have had an eye on this website throughout, i only hope they appreciate that not everything thats said should be taken as it may first appear. the internet allows us to immediately publish our thoughts in whatever emotional state we happen to be in at the time of writing. its very easy to say things in the heat of the moment without giving yourself real scrutiny or thinking about how you will come across to other users, themselves accessing information in often very emotional states. its also difficult for most users to appreciate that the people theyre moaning about could well be reading the website as theyre writing, the internet removes all barriers that once existed between fan and footballer. anything thats posted on here should be written for all audiences, by that i mean both the person/people in question and the writers peers on the website though nobody HAS to consider anybody else when contributing on here, thats the beauty of websites like these, 99% of what people say is what they genuinely feel and the emotion thats been displayed this week has come from real anger or affection... which can obviously upset some along the way, but those people will have to grow broader shoulders or go back to letter writing in shoot magazine [img width=500 height=651] i think i meant the other shoot magazine
  20. there cant be any truth in this
  21. robbo gave black his debut back in the pittodrie/brian prunty era
  22. my message wasnt posted there?! ill try again :015: the killie thing was just his only way of not turning his back on scottish football completely, as you say he wasnt altogether at the time and he felt really let down by alot of people he considered friends on this site, all in the past though and hes actually been to more ict games than killie since then (think hes been to rugby park once). the guy is still an ict fan if he likes it or not, hes stuck with us, hes a stubborn person but he had to admit after we lost to hibs 2-0 away last year that watching any other team play couldnt be compared whatsoever to watching an inverness game for him, he still felt the same buzz he had done for his previous 12 years as a st holder. no matter the specifics of the candidate in question, most seem to have a problem with the clubs outlook and lack of ambition in short listing brewster. for making the same accusations bingo_legend was called a 'judas', 'scum', 'traitor' and received threats of violence, all because he said the appointment of christie would seriously jeopardise his enthusiasm for iict, which it ultimately did! i hope there arent anymore casualties over this one, from personal experience i would have to plead with anybody thinking about turning their back on the cause, or indeed if you feel like you have to... just dont, youll regret it in the long run.
  23. when looking at the stats for robbos record in the spl it has to be remembered that we played 11 games at pittodrie under his stewardship. from all of our ex mamangers he has to have the best record doesnt he? pele would be an emotional choice but potentially a fatal one and brewster steadied us up to secure bottom half spl mediocrity forever, the fittest and strongest team in the league will never go down i wouldnt have any of them back
  24. almost 2 years ago bingham legend was chastised by the entire forum for saying he would consider never coming back if christie was appointed, as it represented a disturbingly unambitious new approach to hiring new personnel wonder if any of the above posters will receive the same backlash
