  1. itll never happen, not for free, if he has a good season and proves hes worth a move 07/08 then he'll be able to pick whichever club, league and country he wants to play in source?
  2. [img width=600 height=284]http://www.apwj49.dsl.pipex.com/cathkin20.jpg was here today in the wind and rain for the first time (been meaning to visit for about 5 years since hearing the place existed) it was in a better setting and bigger than i was expecting, great looking old ground and a massive warning to clubs all over the country not to let property developers take over your team. so i was goign to ask, have any of you old f#ckers ever been to a game there back in the early sixties?
  3. well done to both of them, its those two that make me proud to be an ict fan (ian black and roscoe next up!) hastings is one of our best players and deserves some recognition for getting beack into his national side
  4. best odds for lottery betting is on the sis 49's. think £1 wins you £54 with 2 correct numbers, never taken noticeof the rest of the odds! i do know 6 numbers doesnt win you millions
  5. ""On a more local level yobbish behaviour. I well remember the beer can that was aimed at the head of the Ross County goalkeeper from the away terrace not so long ago."" yeah i get the urge to throw a can of beer whilst standing at a bus stop or taking a p1ss everytime, youre spot on infact this cup of teas getting it when i stand up and leave the desk for bed... shall post a bit more soon, that comment from sophia just really stands out there. sh1t :018: i wrote st**d again, will be back soon
  6. ive got copies of those maps at home, used them to track the development of the longman around the citadel area for something, been good to see them again after a couple of years ta :011:
  7. having read some of these stories i have to say im pretty angry about it id advice the supporters trust folk to not give mike smith the satisfaction of allowing him to explain himself in person or in writing on this one but rather support a wider movement for better/fairer treatment of fans, which would include the problems with away fans in the home end for old firm games, ticket pricing, access to merchandise etc. all backed up with the threat of non-renewal or returning of season tickets if nothing changes when the club take you seriously then things will get better. as things stand, this website doesnt have a wide enough reach over our fanbase to make an impact (no matter if its first hand witness statements from yesterdays game, or any incident) to effect a long term change of attitude towards our small but loyal support. this story should be played out in the press at first so all of our support locally are aware of the incident and what action the trust intends to take. when 500+ people (at least) are given the chance to pitch in with suggestions/opinions/support on the problems rather than 20, to the trust, that ive posted above, the club should be given the chance to respond. that should probably be to the trust, then mend mistakes from there. at the very least they might be aware that the fans exist. and we're capable of making ourselves heard. when they know we're watching and noticing that stewarding problems (for example) dont improve then they will have to act for our benifit the club cant exist without us :011:
  8. never liked mike smith, only time ive ever had a problem it was reffered to him personally, which got me nowhere was left very disapointed with ict for the first time ever and even though 2 years ago it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth, that the money (admit its a **** of alot less these days than it used to be) that i volunteered to the club was being wasted on his wages he should be grateful he has a job at all, football fans are customers of a product we could all live without in reality, his attitude towards us should reflect that. if there wasnt a singing section today what would he have actually dowe to earn his fee? he has to go over the summer
  9. i just noticed! it wouldnt let me delete post whatever you like here itll be wiped away forever soon
  10. cant see anybody talking about this today which is a big surprise, considering that the full back page of the daily record was an ict related story for the first time ever (friday, in the glasgow edition at least) id like to apologise for previous comments to our new chief exec if the whole story about our scouting network in eastern europe and new links with manchester united are true! here it is on the front page of the site - http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk ""BY GHEORG! CALEY SIGN WORLD CUP LEGENDS Hagi and Popescu are hired as super scouts By James Traynor INVERNESS CALEY THISTLE are on the verge of signing up World Cup legends Gheorghe Hagi and Gheorghe Popescu. The Romanian heroes are being lined up as super scouts for the Highland club as they try to break into the Eastern European market. And in another astonishing twist it was also revealed that Inverness hope to establish closer links with Manchester United to help boost their summer recruitment drive. Inverness have already forged links with Hagi and Popescu in what is being seen one of the most important developments in the club's 12-year existence. The idea is that this most unlikely of partnerships will help Charlie Christie get his hands on the best of Romania's young talent. Apart from hoping to plunder the Romanian playing fields Caley Thistle have been planning a major scouting drive behind the former Iron Curtain with Poland and even Kazakhstan in their sights. Following talks with Inverness representatives it is understood Hagi and Popescu, who are both coaching in Romania, have agreed to play a major role with Christie's club. The two stars have very close ties with agents who have also agreed to help the Inverness club make the breakthrough. Chairman Alan Savage is using his multi-national firm Orion Engineering, which is already strongly embedded in Eastern Europe, and he revealed: "Our director of football, Graeme Bennett, is going to be going over to Romania sometime soon. Advertisement "Orion Engineering has a setup in that country and he's going to take advantage of that. It's not like we'll be stepping off the plane and asking directions. We have personnel over there and strong contacts. We're going to be seeing Popescu and Hagi to talk about bringing players in from Romania, initially. "We've actually had some information on players from Kazakhstan as well, where the firm also operates. "Also, there are 500 Poles working for the Orion group, so we have strong connections in Poland, where we also intend to tap into the potential for young, top-quality players who can fit very well into our wage structure. We've appointed a Polish scout. "And we will work to strengthen our contacts and links in these countries in the hope of looking at players and recruiting maybe two foreign players next season." Hagi was capped 124 times for Romania and scored 35 goal, starring in the World Cup and European Championship finals while Popescu, one of the best defenders of his day, won 100 caps. The pair have been co-operating closely with Savage's people and all parties expect to make quick progress. Savage, an Old Trafford season ticket-holder who has strong contacts within the Premiership champions, said: "We've very much been talking to Manchester United recently to build what could be a fruitful relationship. "But we've also spoken to Celtic and have been offered players by Rangers as we look to next season. "So, ideally, I think you will see us bring in maybe two loan players, two from Europe and there will be a signing to replace Darren Dods. "We hope to persuade Craig Dargo to stay but funds will be available for his replacement if needed." Christie is excited by the potential to bring in talent at a modest price and said: "You are talking about quality players and it would be great to bring in talent from Romania. "It makes it all much easier if we can liaise with people of the quality of Hagi and Popescu."""
  11. sadly, like labour, they have alot of votes to lose in scotland. which is what on the face of it seems to be the reason neither want to put the independance issue on a ballot paper for us. what is annoying to me is the fact that in an independant scotland they might actually have a chance of someday being in goverment or becoming the main opposition to labour, maybe its not enough for them? under paddy ashdown they had a leader with both credibility and passion for the party, which theyre never likely to see again, even then they couldnt pick up anymore support. wasted votes.. well done inverness west :017:
  12. itll all end up in the hands of a lawyer or taxman some way down the line, nobody will get rich from this
  13. looking back it does seem like he talked alot of p1sh when he took over. off the park developments look to include little more than a prefab bar, which will be awful (similar setup to club shop and north/south stand catering no doubt) with no prospect of a 4th stand or permanent structures at the stadium of any kind. marketting improvements to get more people to games have extended no further than a couple of posters around town and another free bus, these were in place already and werent exactly earth shattering to begin with. no word on american tours, partnerships or overseas investment coming in over the summer; all of which were widly publicised when he first arrived.. ive actually no problem at all with any of the above, just wish when he arrived he said 'things will carry on as smoothly as they have been and we'll look at other projects in the future'.
  14. yeah i know itll change in time and it has a better chance of taking off in toronto than i nalot of the other mls cities, im just taking a rare chance to be a snob about scottish football! 90% games played in this country mean nothing for the most part and have no atmosphere at all, the rest (such as the saints v dung relegation scrap) are in the 10% that no franchised league or new clubs could ever recreate in terms of emotion and atmosphere. good luck with toronto
  15. would it be easier for me to get somebody up north to buy my ticket for me than to pay for it myself and have it sent down here? this isnt a dig at the club but ive never had confidence in that system! so i dont normally buy them myself over the phone but im not sure who is and who isnt coming down. anybody want to help me out? nod? rig? frasers? etc
  16. fair enough then ill meet you off it. staying in town to watch the fa cup final after the game
  17. thats an insane time to trek all the way down for a st mirren game
  18. can you get your ticket refunded :017:
  19. assume form that we'll be bringing in a new young forward, defender and keeper. maybe ridgers will stay now?
  20. when do you leave?! nutter
  21. the same record low attendance accusations? we did record the lowest attendance ever though and we did get to join the league, wheres your problem gretna are allowed to join the spl (should motherwell not finish last) and they will break the lowest league attendance record, not accusing anybody of being a diddy team or unwelcome in saying that
  22. yes because the snp had agents within the electoral commission 2 years ago when they first decided to count the ballots with a scanner :017: another astute argument against independence from the literary genius that is charles bannerman, why am i shocked.
  23. doesnt look like the snp will win by enough of a majority to be dominant in the parliament, we knew that anyway though.. will be close overall between them and labour but nothings actually changed nevermind 'sleepwalking to independence', scotlands been in a bloody coma for 50 years
