  1. Last night saw the Monthly meeting of the CJT Board members, to which there was a discussion regarding a Youth Group set up and the activities we'd like to be able to put on... The general idea, as has been mentioned before, is to get teenagers and Young adults together and more involved with the club. Because CJT is operated by volenteers and already subsidize funding towards Supporters Buses, the Street League and other projects throughout the year, there was a discussion as to costing, when best to host activities as well as who would organise them, who would run them and how many people would be needed etc to make it all viable. Venues and activities were also talked about. Overall, it seems that a Sunday afternoon (2pm-4pm ish) would be the best time to host such activity days. This is because most of us work during the week, have prior commitments in evenings, and the obvious matchday's occur on a Saturday. Depending on the activities that get arranged would depend on how much we ask people to contribute to attend. There will be no activities organised for July, but I personally hope to have a few activities organized and penciled into my diary for the month of August, and posibly into September. Depending on how successful, or unsuccessful, these activities prove to be depends on how regularly or irregularly we put activities together. What we'd like though is more ideas for activities. So far, going by feedback, we seem to only have interest in 5-a-side matches and computer games sessions. What else would people like to see?
  2. Seemingly some young ladies have asked about a girls 5-a-side also. The CJT Youth Group is for all youths, not just boys. So if any girls want to join in on any of the activities that are eventually organized, then feel free to tag along. (Granted if there are events not permitted for certain ages, as an example if there is a games night where the games are age restricted, then we'll let people know in advance) So far nothing has been set in stone. As was mentioned before, it's merely an idea-gathering session at the moment. There is a CJT Board Meeting at the start of next month, whereby we'll be discussing all the options around getting these activities off the ground. One thing we need to remember is the Health and Safety and security aspects of organizing these things, as well as the costs involved and also making sure we have a decent number of personel able to oversee the events as they happen.
  3. What amazes me about this topic is that people are slating him and saying they're glad to see the back of him... Well, if you were that bothered about what he DIDNT contribute to the team/club and how USELESS he was, then why are you bothered about talking about him? He's gone. No longer at the club. Wont be back for pre-season. Wont wear an ICT jersey again. In my personal opinion I thought he contributed as much as he could to the side. He came to the club as a striker and was constantly played in midfield. Is it any wonder he didnt get stuck in as much as one might hope? Lets not forget what he DID do whilst here... Set up 2 and scored 1 in the 4-0 win over Utd. - Our first win of the last campaign. He scored the equaliser in the 3-3 derby day draw in the Scottish Cup. He scored the decisive penalty against Stenny in last years league cup. Not to mention he set up a few goals in other important matches, not least the 1-0 win at parkhead.
  4. Thursday night kick about are just a general kick about, not connected to CJT. The more the merrier.
  5. (... is a kant...) The Paulibees (Birmingham), King beastie (Leicester) and the amigos Gringo (Coventry Nil) were a part of the E&WMBotICTFCSC (East and West Midland Branch of Inverness Caledonian Thistle Football Club Supporters Club) The PB's, Beastie and myself have all crossed the border to live in Glasgow and Inverness, whilst Mr and Mrs Gringo remain in Coventry Nil. There are others we dont so much hear from these days, such as DaveICT (i think that was his name) who lived in Bristol. We also cant forget IHE who lives where the feck he decides to drop his marbles.
  6. No news yet on any dates for activities for the new Youth Group we are looking at, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks we'll have something organized for a kick about. In the meantime, if there are any lads (or lassies) keen for an hour-long kick about on a Thursday evening, then why not pop along to Millburn Academy where Davie and John hire out the all-weather pitch. Numbers have dwindled in recent weeks as some of the regulars now play in the Inverness Welfare League, meaning we could do with a few more faces. It's £2 per person and paid on arrival. (Not too sure if Davie has age restrictions mind. I shall ask him to clarify)
  7. Not heard anything about Liam Keogh playing for Auldearn. As you expected, they play in Inverness leagues and not Nairn/Forres/Elgin. Edit: if he played against Auldearn, then he would have played in the Inverness League, meaning he's probably played for another team despite being registered at another club.
  8. Maybe what was mentioned to me is rubbish. Maybe it isnt. I Can only say it came up during a discussion over insurance money and player registrations. We've no doubt all been in a place where the conversation includes other chit chat regarding the same topic - in this case player registrations and insurance. Welfare football or not, a player is registered to the sfa as playing for 1 team. You cant then also play for another team in a different league because you are already registered. For instance you cant play welfare midweek in inverness and be registered there and then also play in another team in aberdeen at weekends. Its one or the other
  9. I play in Nairn for a welfare team and I did hear that a Kyle White could potentially be banned for up to 2-years having played for one of the welfare teams in a competitive match when already signed up for Clach, despite being warned about the ban before playing. (I also heard the team he played for went on to lose)
  10. I'm you're man for that, although give me to the end of the month as I'm just switching from one firm to another (and I want the commision) There's some cracking scenary in the area and if you guys like walking there's some real gems. Glen Affric is a particular fave as is the Cairngorm National Park. Loads of routes to walk. If you're after a little more activity rather than a walk, theres paintballing on the way to Nairn, quad biking in Aviemore and I have hear the G2 acivity place there is fantastic. Zip-wiring all around the trees at Rothiemurcus (spelling). If you're after a few sherberts, try and book onto one of the booze cruises on Loch Ness. They usually operate during the summer months so worthwhile looking into. I'm fairly certain they still run and are operated by Jacobite Cruises from the Caledonian Canal.
  11. I may just have to meet you so as to simply sing 'SOTV'... (as a lad from Coventry with a father who followed the Blues as a lad, not to mention two of our former star strikers having moved there in recent years, it seems only right for to take up the opertunity!!!)
  12. I like it too. It's much better than the poor attempt of blending in with the stadium brick-work. Well Done
  13. HeScoresWhenHeWants - If you know of other lads or lassies that you think may be interested in different activities, feel free to ask them their opinions and ideas and relay them back to me. Also, feedback from anyone in the upper teenage range through to early 20's can contribute ideas. Maybe you like paintball or things like that? As a Highland Marcher I enjoy heading out for walks and I will probably look at doing something around Culloden Forest or even just along the canal and get some sort of barbecue organised for warmer days in summer.
  14. Hows about a Student Diary/Calendar? IE July through June instead of Jan to Dec. I'd prefer one of them, and it can incorporate the fixture list onto the dates too. Not only that but players who have left the club by May wont be emerging on the calendars from June onwards...
  15. Robbo was in fact going to join us this year, but unfortunately some work and other commitments prevented him from being able to commit to the event. What a week he missed though. One of the best events to date (despite the results of both games)... There have been a few minor updates to the Highland March Website and there'll be photo galleries from HM10 and HM11 to be uploaded in due course. There is also the HM Twitter and Facebook accounts should people wish to follow. (We tend to update these more often than the actual website)
  16. I believe the likes of Millburn Academy astroturf, Charleston academy and of course Bught Park are places we would consider for a 5-a-side event. It may be possible to use the Sports Bar at the stadium for the computer games events, although we appreciate that something closer to the centre of town may be prefered. Perhaps the social club as has been mentioned. The idea is to make gatherings of youths a regular as possible affair. get them doing things and meeting new people. It's also a chance to get these youths involved in the club some way or at least feel like they are as big a part of CJT and the club as any adult.
  17. I'd like to invite any youngsters of this forum (or even their parents or other forum goers) to give some suggestions as to what you would like CaleyJagsTogether to do for you to allow you to be more involved with the club and meet more people in your age group. So far, Fraz and Myself are only seeking ideas at this stage, although we are already looking into possible activities that could commence before the start of the new season. Ideas such as a regular 5-a-side kick about or computer game tournements (FIFA, Guitar Hero etc) are ideas we have ourselves. The club already has the Hot Shots activity for the wee kiddies, yet there's not much for teenagers and young adults. The more ideas we have, the more activities we can plan.
  18. We started the game with one up top (myself, 9) with Colin Clellend (10) playing just behind. This seemed to work well initially, especially with RossP on the left and James Mc on the right. Because it was rolling subs, I came off for Davie (15) with about 15 to go int he first half, and replaced him again with 30 to go. The idea here being to keep the same formation and shape without burning ourselves out. Unfortunately neither of us were able to get too involved as the final ball lacked somewhat. Quicker deliveries into the box or an extra pass hear or there to set us through may have made a difference but who knows. I dont think the kits clashing played any role to be fair, but agree it looked like the county fans were more familiar with eachother. I think the majority of their squad of 18/19? played in last years game, where as we had just 5 faces in a squad of 14 that appeared the last time we played. It was a little disappointing to see the County players going down easy and will say the ref seemed too lenient with them at times. To tell the bench to make a sub instead of sending the lad off was a little strange. Either way, the result is the result. We'll take it on the chin, dust down, and look forward to regrouping for next year.
  19. Unfortunately, it's 2 from 2 for County as they secured a 3-1 victory today over us at Jubilee park. With ourselves in control for the first 10 minutes, yet unable to create in the final third, it was County who went ahead through a superb strike across goal what seemed like a fair distance out. Not long afterwards it was 2-0, as County started to get a little grip on proceedings. A little mix up at the back allowed their lad to smash home from about 10-yards giving our keeper little chance. Opertunites to get back into the game were limited as again the final ball was either non existant or poorly presented. However, after a little trickery in the box and some great balance under pressure, it was 2-1 as James McMillan slotted under the County keeper with minutes to go before half time. After the break, County looked good and created the better chances, however with 5 minutes of the half gone James McMillan was unable to get over his volley from a corner and could only hit his effort high over the bar. Little seemed to happen for ICT fans after that, although a few juicy challenges had by now already started to emerge from both sets of fans, with the referee at one stage telling the County bench to substitute their man before he'd be shown a red!! County secured the lead by piling on pressure following a small series of set pieces. Despite a couple of good challenges ICT couldnt clear their lines and 3-1 it was to remain.
  20. What a truly remarkable fellow. :clapping: :clapping:
  21. Reminder to all about tomorrows match. I for one am really looking forward to this game. Last years clash was really good. Some excellent play from both sides with a little bit of niggle and banter thrown in, as you might expect. Now this game is in the Highlands it'd be great to have a few more fans get behind their teams. BRING IT ON
  22. HT 1-1 FT 2-3 McKay Sproule 6069 7mins
  23. All troops about to have their brekkie before the final assault. We should be in Dingwall for 1130-12ish What a great week we have all had. To quote Field Marshal General Yompa, 'magnificent' See you at the game people
  24. The Gringos have surprised the troops with a visit out here in Stromeferry. They even brought out tonights scoff - curry!!! Excellent Today goes down as probably the shortest EVER highland march stage with just 13 miles clocked up. Tomorrow is planned as approx 15 miles only, but the way we're motoring along, we'll be in Dingwall for Sat lunch time...
