It's a lovely thought to have though isnt it. despite the ?2m max. Judging by bob's 'screwing' of his bets over a couple thousand, it's unlikely you'd be able to be high for long anyway. on the odds of 8/13 though, you'd need a streak of 27 matches to get as far as ?1,300,602.27, as the next match could net you just over ?2.1 million. On the odds of 2/9 (which were celtics odds last sat v RC) you'd have to get a run of 65 matches to net ?1,890,519.89 Chances are though that there are maximum bets in place at all bookies? which means, like yngwie said, you'd need to be a millionaire to start off with anyway :P

A friend of mine down in Coventry suggested one year that I put ?5 on any one game at the start of the season. Should I win, put all the money onto a game the following week. Should I win again, put all that money onto the next week and so on and so on and so on,... Anyway, the thought has crossed my mind as to how much you could potentially win in any season should you win every week... I have just done a very quick Excel formula to find out. Starting with ?5 only, and assuming all the games you pick are 8/13, you could win ?374 by game 10. come game 20 you'll be at over ?45,000 A full 36 game season will amass ?97,415,483.25 If anyone tries this next season and is successful, i'll be looking for a nice wee packet for mentioning it... I'm definately going to try. :D EDIT - just to mention that even if you went by Celtic's odds on saturday of 2/9, then you'd be looking at over ?5,600 during the course of a 36 game season...

was there not rumour that roy mcbain had signed a pre-contract at county around january? Not sure though Anyway, I'd love Hayes to stay, as with the 'spine' of the club i.e. foran, rossco, esson, rooney, cox, munro, golly and dare i even say it, russell duncan... I would, however, like to see backup for duncan and golly. Stratford and JibbyJabby dont fill me with too much confidence. I also think Narius will come good but he needs games. How good is Kyle alison should Esson get injured/suspended... is he as Fraser for Brown, or as Ridgers for Fraser?

no... Go for three wins

So you dont want anyone to slag you off because you are not as thick skinned as Kath, but you find it quite acceptable to slag off Club staff and even call for a "red card" for one of them. Unbelievable display of double standards. If the supporters have trouble getting information, and the club are struggling to get information, then surely the issue was the Supporters Club getting the information out there. They shouldnt need to be chased. Anyway, getting infromation 'out there' seems to be a side issue in the wider scheme of things. I have used the bus before and Kath has been generous enough to allow one-way seating when people have been stuck in the past. I cannot thank Kath enough for her hard work and it surely seems like it's a thankless task. I also don't think it is entirely Kath's fault, if at all, and that a 'clique' had formed amongst those who use the bus. It is this 'clique' that has singled themselves away from other supporters because of comments/remarks made/reacted to, a 'your face doesnt quite fit' attitude (something noticed in a few posts today) and finally a 'comfort zone' that they dont want interupted by new comers - by this i mean the away day routine. IMHO it has nothing to do with drinking on the buses, or indeed stopping in Perth on the way back, but I for one would prefer to get to my destination in good enough time to meet my pals, get the craic, have a few shandies etc etc. Leaving late knowing roadworks could make me miss kick off, stopping in Perth on the way down so someone can have a smoke, or even being told to turn my personal music player down so someone else can read in peace, doesnt really strike me as decent pre-match craic. The solution, as mentioned before, was to have 2 departure times for buses. one at 8am for those wanting the above, and the later 10am bus that currently operates. This was mentioned a few times, and the earlier bus has certainly proved a hite the occasions the Trust/Innes/CTO laid one on. I just hope the Supporters Bus runs in some capacity, as it'll be a complete shame for those who depended on it, to miss out on their away day. Once again though, thank you to Kath and her team

I'm not so sure the standards have fallan, but then again I'm not convinced the lesser teams have improved overly either. Personally, I think we're in a 'stall' and need a bump start. European leagues have raised their game and scottish football standards stalled when the SPL introduced the Split. the only way to kick start it again is to get rid of it (the split) and expand the top league to 18 and give us back football. By that i mean slack off the rediculous rules such as stadium minimum capacity, terracing (to a degree) and standing during games etc. The league would have more challengers and a better appeal IMHO. Playing teams 4 times a season is just dull!!!

I just read on BBC website that David Moyes thinks standards in scottish football have fallen, hence the reason teams such as celtic struggle to get a top manager. Now, these comments have only come to light since RC beat Celtic in the cup semi. But are standards falling, or has the rest of the scottish game caught up?

I had another little dabble on roulette last night - played for almost and hour and lost ?5... lol Most I got up to from ?20 was ?53, so i'm not really that bothered to only lose ?5. Luck of the spin I guess. I'll hold off the remaining ?13 for now and use THAT for the weekend coupons. :)

Does this mean you're not going to west brom for training? Bit late to re-joing Highland March but there's always next year mate :P I'm Supervisor at WHSmith in Inverness Airport. Have been at the airport over 3 years now. Prior to that I worked in the Hospitality and Catering industry with the Thistle Hotel :tonguecheek: , Warwick University :tonguecheek: and the Village Hotel in Coventry :)

:P I'd won a treble on the foreign live-play matchs tonight, approx ?40. I transfered half to the casino, just to mess about with, whilst leaving the other ?20 for my football coupon this coming weekend... Well, what a mess about it was too. 3 successive wins got me quickly to ?50 (10p minimum bet), and I kept going from there. I finished up with over ?300... Thats Highland March digs, food, fuel etc sorted, with a few pennies left for a drinky poo at the end. chuffed!

I've read one or two posts but not all, so forgive me if i cover old ground. But for me, the bigger result was ourselves in 2000... All credit to C*unty - they played well and never really looked threatened. But they (Celtic) have an interim manager, a team of new faces still gelling and are have lost the 'fear factor' they once had. every team now wants to play them because they are not the celtic people once feared! If you look at ourselves, there were few teams who could boast knocking out any of the OF since Berwick Rangers all them years before. We were very much a new team in the Scottish Leagues (just 6 years old), still with players that graced the Highland League previously. Celtic had huge names in football at the time. Mark Viduka, Ian Wright, Mark Burchill, Lubo, Johnny Gould, Berkovic etc etc. They also had their 'hero' King Kenny at the club! All they have now is Keane and Lennon. Like I said, all credit to RC, thoroughly deserved and many congratulations. I just think you'll always be compaired alongside our great victory(s), which means our 'shock' is ultimately bigger!!!

It certainly goes to show there are no easy winners, and football really is a funny old game. Bets like yours bob forever remind me that you can lose just as quickly as you win. I certainly wouldnt have the bottle to be prepared to lose that much in one day... Just remember one of the many 'golden rules' - DONT START CHASING WHAT YOU'VE ALREADY LOST... YOU'LL END UP LOSING MORE!!!

Partick @2.75 please *This game should ultimately now be a draw, considering Gringo has again backed Dundee *

I had a little nosy at the various football league 'outright' odds around europe. Bayern and Inter look not bad odds in their respective leagues mate. William Hill were offering.... Inter Milan 8/13 Bayern Munich 4/9 I'm not so sure Norwich City at 1/66 is particularly worth it myself

I stick ?1 on for each memebr of my family... Mrs - Don't Push it 20/1 wee man - Tricky Trikster 16/1 other brat - Beat the Boys 100/1 Me - Can't Buy Time 33/1 I've also got a combination tricast of Niche Market 18/1 Big Fella Thanks 10/1 (F) Ballyholland 15/1 I'll no doubt have my eyes on the football though...

Because over-confidence can lead to severe disappointment through the pressures to deliver. Take Dundee, again, for an example, again. They were 13 points ahead and their confidence was at it's highest. One little blip has severely dented their over-confidence and they even resorted to replacing a more than decent manager in an effort to stop the rot. Which, ultimately, seems to have failed thus far. I have no problem with confidence, after all you have to have it, but it can bring un-needed added pressure! Hope that makes sense.......
-
if someone offered me a draw right now, i'd take it. Although I am hyped up and urging us to win the league, I have to mit there is a little doubt. It's this over confidence that I dont like. therefore, i'll sit at 6.5 out of 10

save from a penalty my fault for not proof reading

The reverse of that would be if you decline the payout. technically, if you dont take the payout, then the machine hasnt paid out at all  Roulette is my game. Love it. Two ways I've played are 1) half the wheel (opposite zero, 14 to 27, and an extra chip on 17).or 2) 5 and 34 neighbours. This covers about 1/4 of the wheel. One guy I used to watch play regularly used to devide the wheel into 6th, pick one of them and play that all night. Sometimes he'd walk with thousands, sometimes lose thousands, but that was his way and it seemed to work the majority of the time. I dont trust online casinos though, although I do dabble at bingo and poker from time to time.

Not that anyone was going to join me anyway, but i'll not be walking to dingwall after all... Mrs off out at night, so i'll be resorting to radio broardcasts and matchday thread. I'm still going for a walk though, just earlier than i planned.
