  3. Although I work on the ground, I see this kind of passenger/customer arrogance every day. Mostly from snooty sods (usually heading to london) who think they are gods gift because they buy The Times or claim on expenses. Classic example is when the ground staff call the easyjet flights. There's a long announcement that starts off 'This is an information announcement for easyjet flight ___ to ______, please remain seated'. Guarentee everyone stands up and heads to the gate. The staff will even say 'to speed up the boarding process we ask all passengers to remain seated until groups are called forward'. You can guess that not many people stay on their backsides! Now for people like those who read The Times (i.e. people who like to show their intellegence and superiority), they aint half flamin stupid!!! The plane aint going anywhere until everyone is on board, so whats the big flamin hurry. Ok rant Over... lol. :_talktalktalk: I say fair play to Steven Slater!!! The man has just become my hero!!! Maybe I should put the news headline up at the till-points at work... lol

  8. WHAT THE CLUB COULD DO... I think when CaleyD was the announcer, the half time chat and entertainment seemed to come across better than simply something read from a script. The music choice was better also, and this I think encouraged more fans to get involved. Noticing the tune to the 'johnny hayes' chant, the appropriate music was played and it got the fans excited at half time. Perhaps someone who can emulate CD's enthusiasm on the tannoy would help lift some folk. there was the idea of a singing section, which obviously faltered due to SPL (and other )rules etc, but this was, in many folks opinion, over indulged by a certain former member of backroom staff. Perhaps Darren, Kenny or someone else can look into possible 'loopholes' and communicate to the fans what we can and cant do. CAN: Stand when appropriate to do so - CANT: Stand up constantly CAN: Create Banter with the opposition - CANT: Use sectarian or potentially offensive language (the 'g' word for etc). WHAT THE FANS CAN DO... Put the damn sweeties back in their wrappers (in fact just leave them in your pockets, or better still, at home) and get behind the team!!! (I know many people who sit in the main stand, and I know that they're more than capable of chanting - proven when in the pub, away days, functions etc) Sing with those that do generate atmosphere, instead of giving them grief for it. If you fancy joining in with a chant but are too embarrased to chant alone, move to where the atmosphere is and join in. (The more the merrier!)

    PLANK

In October last year I created a cartoon based on stupid folk, known as PLANKS The first episode saw 'Plank' as a football steward, to which 90% of people seemed to enjoy. Later episodes saw 'Plank' in predicaments away from football, and also included a 'Mrs Plank Special'. It's about time 'Plank' came back to football - so here it is... Plank: World Cup Check it out
  10. Has anyone else noticed that there are only 2 former players coming back for this match? No mention of Wyness at all on the official site... Textbook error :_thumbdown:
  11. You can choose your seat from those available. You can get your name on your seat, but this costs extra You can pay by installments, but at the APR it is cheaper paying by Credit Card!!! :_chaching: I got a season ticket 4-years ago. I had my name (Gringo Jnr) put on the seat. I bought another ticket the following season, and didnt request name on seat, but it was still there. I havn't had a ticket the last two seasons, but my name is still on the seat :_doh:

  15. I realy like it. Love the come back of the stripes. That swoosh from the last shirt was shocking.
  16. Quite possibly, Smee, but at the end of the day the main thing is that there will be a tribute.
  17. The club are planning some sort of tribute to Peter, according to the Highland News.
  18. Sorry for not posting sooner, but I have not been on the ball with any organising for an event. I've been unable to dedicate much time in the last couple of weeks to look deeper into the posibility of an organised charitiy walk/event, and with weddings and a family holiday forthcoming, I cant see me finding much time between now and the new season, which is fast approaching. Obviously, Peter's efforts were amazing and this should not be forgotten. Also, as a devoted ICT fan who died in the teams colours on everest, I also think he is still deserving of some sort of tribute. Failing A.N.Other taking the task on board in looking into an organised event, may I suggest something that is perhaps rather more low-key but a mark of respect all the same... that all ICT fans wear a bonnet and scalf as a mark of respect throughout the match, and have a minutes' applause after the championship flag unveiling against Celtic.
  19. I thought I would share with you a few stats from testing this theory. All info is from before the world cup. I have bet ?45 on 9 initial bets of ?5 each (or ?50 total on 12 initial bets f you could greyhounds). Based on just the football bets, the best streak before a defeat was 5 games, which would have netted ?48.78 had I not placed the 6th bet. The 6th game would have been a return of ?78-?80 at odds of 6/10. Unfortunately for me, as mentioned by BA before, this wasn't the case... I have lost 3 times on the initial bet Had I not put on 'that next bet' and banked instead, I could have had a total return of ?98.69 there have been 18 matches bet on in total, giving a 50/50 win/lose ratio. All in all, I think the theory has some element of plausability, considering the average defeat has come on EVENS or AGAINST bets, where as most wins have come using ODDS ON. The longest odds bet was 15/8, which lost, with the more successfull bets being at odds of 8/11 and 4/7
  20. Uraguay v France... Interesting to note: - France have won just one of their five matches against Uruguay, losing twice and drawing twice.
  21. What a good game that was... but it's amazing how frustrated i got every time mexico passed the ball back, rather than crossing into the box. :( The only other time watching a 'neutral' fixture I have felt so frustrated was Romania v France, when constantly Mutu would have a pop at goal, when all the time our then forward Marius Niculae was in a much better goalscoring position. Anyway, davieb, good shout on the 17/10 shot :D
  22. SA/Mex draw was 21/10 at william hill and looked tempting, but mexico have had a good-ish build up with a recent good performance agains england and a win v italy.
  23. I'm going to be going along with testing the theory game-by-game. I start with ?5 on Mexico at 13/8. If I win i'll stick the cash on the Uraguay/France match. All my betting is done with William Hill
  24. indeed i am
