  1. DAILY RECORD TRANSFER DEALINE PAGE HAS JUST PUT THIS UP Greg Tansey’s move from Inverness to Aberdeen is dead in the water. It is believed that Aberdeen are fuming with ICT after they pulled the plug on the deal for the midfielder. 2. Here is the full article in the Swindon Advertiser where chairman Lee Power talks about the future of Miles Storey THE future of Swindon Town’s two strikers Miles Storey and Michael Smith is still undecided according to chairman Lee Power. The duo have had contrasting experiences away from the County Ground, with Storey having netted seven times during his time at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, while Smith failed to find the goal for Barnsley, having made just one substitute appearance since mid-November. Lee Johnson will not be extending Smith’s stay at Oakwell, with the 24-year-old due back with Swindon next week, while Storey will only stay in Scotland if both clubs can come to a sensible arrangement. “I know Miles would like to stay up in Scotland so we are in talks with them at the moment to see whether we can extend his loan until the end of the season,” Power told BBC Wiltshire, as he looks to reduce the numbers of the squad during the January transfer window. “We have got Smithy (Michael Smith) looking to come back the first week of January. “Until they come back it is very difficult. “We have had people phone up and certain teams want to buy certain people, both Miles and Smith we’ve had clubs on for. “Miles wants to stay there and he has done brilliantly up there. “We’re loaning players and we have to pay the going rate and certain things and that is what we are in negotiations with Inverness over. “Hopefully, if everyone is fair, then he will stay there until the end of the season. “He is out of contract then. We’ll re-engage him again because he is under the age stipulation and then we’ll take it from there.” With Momar Bangoura already being let go by the club, Power has suggested that more will leave before he sits down to sort out who needs bringing in. Share article “We’ll sit down and go through what we need to do then, but you can only do that once you know you have moved on or sold certain other people,” he added. “There were 28 training so it needs to be narrowed down a little bit.”
  3. The basis of the report on STV said the club has tabled an new offer to his Agent . Hughes said he would only sign a new deal if it felt right. And was right for him Which clearly indicates the offer on the table is not He then went on to say I can assure the supporters that I will still be here until the summer that is when my contract runs out.
  4. STV interview with John Hughes just now is the clearest indication that Inverness CT will be looking for a new manager in the summer obviously unhappy with the contract offer he has been made.
  5. Would love to hear how Stephen Thompson tells Mixu "Of course you were my first choice"
  6. And Breathe ! Jim Spence ‏@JimSpenceSport 2h2 hours ago Mixu announced tomorrow as boss as @dundeeunitedfc refuse to meet Inverness compensation for Yogi, ruling out chance of talks.
  7. The Dundee Evening Telegraph Chief Football Writer has just tweeted that he is almost certain its Mixu but he also says Hughes has been given permission to speak to Dundee United Tom Duthie ‏@tomduth 16m16 minutes ago Utd talking to Mixu but deal not done yet. 8 retweets2 favourites Reply Retweet 8 Favourite 2 More Tom Duthie ‏@tomduth 2h2 hours ago Yogi gets permission to speak but 99.9% certain Utd have gone for Mixu
  8. I have not seen the small print of John Hughes contract but he signed a legally binding contact until 2016 and no he can't just resign walk away and sign for a rival ICT could enforce his contact legally through the Courts. John Hughes would be put on gardening leave if he tries to force matter. ICT could take the same stance St Johnstone took with Tommy Wright and say he is not available regardless of financial offer.
  9. I think the Chairman and the Board have sent out a very strong message if you read their statement carefully. If they U-turn a few days later accept a financial offer for Manager John Hughes they would lose all credibility with the support. Yes Yogi is in a win win situation but the bottom line is he still remains a ICT employee under contact until May 2016 and legally unless Inverness release him from his contract Dundee United are not allowed to speak or approach him. Also Hughes owes a huge debt of gratitude to the chairman and the club for resurrecting his career and is very unlikely to resign from ICT and face the legal consequences of breach of contract action. Remember Dundee United probably need a manager in place this week so now Stuart McCall is free of Scotland duties now and unlike Yogi does not require a financial compensation settlement so he will probably be announced on Wednesday. ICT Chairman Kenny Cameron Statement “On behalf of the Board of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC I can confirm that Dundee Utd have, today, requested permission from the club to open discussions with Team Manager, John Hughes "The club have stated previously that we wish John to remain with us for this season and beyond. This position has not changed and the approach from Dundee Utd has been rejected."
  10. I also think as far as Billy McKay is concerned his wife and son have remained in Wigan and he is travelling home to them from Dundee So in logistical terms he is 120 miles less travelling by signing for Dundee Utd rather than ICT my feeling is he will not sign a permanent deal at Tannadice it will be enough to get him into Northern Ireland Euro Squad by playing regular football on loan for the moment.
  11. I noticed the comments of St Johnstone defender Brian Easton when he referred to the proposed move of his manager Tommy Wright to Dundee United as a side step. He is right apart from Celtic and Aberdeen all the rest of the clubs are based on survival to remain in the Premier League. Dundee United in the past perhaps classed themselves as a big club however today the reality is they are not. There is nothing Dundee United can offer Tommy Wright in football ambition that he can’t achieve with with current side St Johnstone (apart from increase in salary). This would also apply to our own ICT boss John Hughes added to which should Steven Thompson and the Dundee Utd Board turn their attention to Yogi I think it would now appear to be very unflattering to be considered fourth of fifth choice as various preferred candidates turn them down. The final and probably most important hurdle to any future manager of Dundee United especially Wright or Hughes how could they work with the interference of Steven Thomson after they were left by current Chairmen Brown and Cameron to make their own decisions.
  12. ST Johnstone Chaiman Brown issues statement giving a pretty clear hands off message to Dundee United Chaiman Thompson With speculation rife linking manager Tommy Wright with the managerial vacancy at Dundee United FC, Saints’ Chairman Steve Brown has this morning moved to clarify the club’s position.Brown said: “The manager has never indicated that he wishes to leave the club and I have spoken with Tommy regarding this particular matter and he has reiterated to me that he is more than happy at Saints.”The Chairman continued: “Since I appointed Tommy, I have had a good working relationship with him and we are both striving to maintain the success we have enjoyed in recent seasons and therefore, regardless of any approach and any level of compensation that might be offered, it will be flatly turned down.“It is important to me that all St Johnstone supporters are assured that we intend for Tommy to remain at the club beyond his current contract which already runs to June 2017.”
  13. Stumbling block at Dundee Utd is they have agreed the £200k transfer fee with Wigan for Billy Mckay but wages they are offering is £2500 max and will not match his wages of £4k a week he currently gets at Wigan Hibs are willing and can afford to pay these weekly wages ...doubt Ross County will be serious contenders at that price nor given his respect for ICT do I think Billy would go to Dingwall
  14. Sorry Sneckboy it was 2005 and we did win the match 1-0 the 2008 match you refer to was the clubs second visit to play FC Nordsjaelland
  15. Inverness Caledonian Thistle's first experience of European Football was beating Danish Premier League side Nordsjaelland 1-0 in Copenhagen in July 2005 with David Proctor scoring with a glancing header.
  16. Spoke to one of the guys who went tover to Romania with Celtic told me not ony tfly but stay in Bucharest as town where the Astra stadium is located is a one horse town with no decent restaurants or bars. About an hour and a half by taxii around 100 Euros return split with four in a taxi that was only 25 euros each Also says its a cracking stadium
  17. The SPFL Youtube footage shows clearly Nadir Cifci slamming his forearm elbow into the back of Gary Warren's head it doesn't show Warren's retaliation but Cifci sneaky elbow (you see him looking for to make sure ref is looking away from him) to Gary's head should have been a straight red. You can hear in Greg Tansey after match interview also on Youtube that he was at it all night
  18. Are the Europa places for second, third in League and Scottish Cup winners and 4th in League if Celtic win the cup
  19. Southend United reject Inverness Caledonian Thistle's bid for Lee Barnard Lee Barnard - wanted by Inverness Caledonian Thistle share on Facebook share on Twitter share on Google+ email (1) comments print First published 14:22 Sunday 1 February 2015 in Bluesby Chris Phillips SOUTHEND United have turned down an offer from Inverness Caledonian Thistle for their out of favour striker Lee Barnard. The 30-year-old failed to make the squad for Saturday’s clash with York City. But Blues boss Phil Brown revealed Barnard is keen to fight for his future atRoots Hall. “I spoke to Lee and he’s told me he wants to stay here and fight for his place which I admire,” said the Shrimpers chief. “He’s seen me bring in two new strikers but is keen to try and get back in to the team. “Of course that could change and someone else could come in and whet his whistle which I don’t think Inverness did so we decided to turn down their bid.” Barnard spent time on loan with Stevenage earlier on in the season and has not appeared for Blues since October.
