  1. Thought we more than deserved being level first half...we were the better side. But the second half was a different story..sat back and hoped to play on the counter which I couldn't see working! I think that we, and other teams, have a good chance of beating this Celtic team when we play on the front foot which was proved in both the semi final and again first half today! But teams fear Celtic more than needed which gives them the initiative! In the end I think Celtic probably deserved the win but I left slightly less disappointed as the players proved what they can do when they look to be the forward team! On to next week and hopefully a good 90 min performance and 3 points!
  2. IMO every game of the season is important...including Celtic games! Last year we took 4 points off them, and had one reasonable away result against them! Those 4 point were huge for our season for a few reasons: 1) the 1-0 home win kept our run going at the start and gave the players confidence to push on and pick up more valuable points. 2) the four points that could easily have been dropped and forgotten about gave us that little cushion towards the end of the season so that when we had pretty bad run it gave us time needed to get over the finish line. 3) that draw the week before the semi final was, to me, huge in how our season finished! Not only was another point on the board but it gave the players the confidence going into the semi final that they could match up to Celtic which they certainly did! So given that it's another league game that we can pick up points from and having watched Celtic last night as well as previous games this year, we should be going for this and treating it the same as every weekend!
  3. In previous years it has been mentioned that the spfl could look to play a game or two abroad (probably America). This debate has started up again with the suggestion that Celtic and Dundee are in discussions and Now in yogi's latest interview he has backed it! Wat would others think? Good idea or not? Would it help the club? And would you travel out to watch our team?
  4. Fon Williams raven. Warren. Meetings williams . Tansey. Draper polworth. Sho silva. Mutumbo . Storey subs: esson horner tremarco Devine Vincent vigurs wedderburn. strong line up if you ask me, and although it's taking a chance I'd play with attack in mind as Celtics defence hasn't been great! If you wanted a stronger bench then obviously one or two changes could happen but I think we should have a go at them! This line up can obviously only work should all players be 100% fit but we can only hope!
  5. I'd be disappointed if we've seen the last of Ryan and it would be a big loss...but it could benefit Sutherland! With Ryan gone, he surely would go into the line up and it's going to give him time to get into the swing of things! With hopefully draper and Roberts back in the next couple of weeks then it might just give us the chance to move on from Ryan! And at the end of the day I think he'd have gone in the new year anyway. By February Celtic could and should've established a big points gap between them and hearts/Aberdeen! So Christie will get heaps of chances in the premiership when Celtic are changing the team about! All this said, it doesn't mean I'm happy to see him go or that he has finished with us, I'm sure with one or two players back and give Sutherland a good run in the team that we'll be fine!...maybe even Lopez and storey could form a good partnership
  6. Well then me might as well all give up hope of seeing fans through the gate! Clubs like ours aren't going to get anywhere without the help from the sfa! And honestly can anyone see the club going rounds the schools telling the kids to go when it's the adults that have to take them! I dunno what else teams can do to bring people through the gates other than drop prices! Also, as stated somewhere before, you can go and watch German clubs and many other clubs around the world for less than a tenner a game, nobody wants to pay through the nose to watch football...other than the die hard fans or those with money burning a hole in their pocket
  7. I agree with what everyone says about growing city, getting kids into the caley mind set...my cousins came out from stornoway to live and since then they've both become caley daft, one of which attends most games through thick and thin! My point being that, despite all the different ways the club could act upon this, if football authorities were to help clubs drop ticket prices then our club would be one many that would benefit! If didn't cost £30-£40 but instead it cost £15 for a match day then we would, I believe, get at least an extra 1000 people through the gate!
  8. I thought that was much improved..certainly compared to the last 3 games! Other than the pen and one or two other moments I thought the defence were better and fin Williams much better! From midfield to the two at the top it was a far better display! Vincent looked more comfortable and like himself for 70 mins in the centre, polworth had a better game, tansey looked himself playing the ball forward especially from such a deep position and it was also a good penalty! Vigurs also had some good passes although I think draper would have to play if fit! Then williams and Christie showed signs of wat they're capable of going forward. Williams with some great runs off the ball that only his first touch let him down on but certainly a threat! And Christie really put himself about and of course won the penalty! Big boost seeing warren back, foran took part in some parts of the warm up although that only told me really he's more involved with the coaches! Everyone else bar doran seemed to be walking about with no limps which hopefully means some players back in the next few weeks! By no means a totally dominant display or cause to get excited but certainly an improvement and hopefully we can keep it up!
  9. For those who want yogi to stay there could be one other reason he may stay! If being away from his family is the real reason he wants to move then he has 2 choices just now...1) leave the club, be unemployed with a risk of not getting anything closer to home and 2) stay another couple of years, and earn the right for a move to a club closer to home! wat he must remember though is that other than Hearts, (Hibs maybe) and possibly either Dundee team he isn't going to get a Premiership club to manage so he may yet have to live away from home or drop down leagues which shows no determination to succeed! And of course as we all know...he certainly isn't going to walk into any of those jobs which just leaves him as great family man with no money!
  10. Finally others are starting to wish wedderburn would get another chance! I thought in both games against Astra he played very well...his passing was good, he wasn't afraid to tackle either! Having wedderburn in the team would give us the anchor in midfield that a) protects the defence b) allows tansey to push on and c) is the best cover for Draper! Tansey is having to take on to much responsibility in sitting back protecting the defence, yet still being asked to push forward, spread the ball and looking after whoever partners him when Draper isn't there!
  11. looking at the squad list .... Foran - injured (or unfit?) Doran - injured Warren - injured Draper - injured Ferguson -- not sure ? would have him on bench if fit Brill - injured Lopez - not sure ? would have him on bench if fit Mutombo - injured Sho-Silva - injured Roberts - injured the rest are all young lads who may or may not be registered (not sure how registration works for LC) WHO else would you have on the bench ? My concern for this season is that both manager and fans alike are placing a massive amount of emphasis on our injury crisis. Only 3 of those players will provide a genuine improvement. I'd say a few more than 3....if we had doran and Roberts available then we'd players that could actually play on the wing..mutumbo could come under that category as well! Plus with at least 2 of these players available we could have Williams at LB instead of tremarco! Warren at cb would be another change, draper in CM! I still have worries about Fon Williams after tonight, not necessarily his saves but with the ball at his feet and even his distribution! Sho-silva would be another option up front or on the wing because, other than his dive, he could hold the ball up and run at defenders plus win Aries challenges! So really, minimum four of these players could have a huge lift on the team but really you want as many as possible so we have options to change...having all seven would very much increase our chances of a good season!
  12. That's was nothing short of a disgrace today and for me it was the players that should be blamed, they were slow and getting the ball away from get not making runs and not shooting when space opened up! Fon williams didn't look comfortable today, raven was okay, Devine and meekings seemed solid enough but again slow on the ball, tremarco was isolated! The 3 in midfield were shockingly slow, Williams was sitting far to deep, tansey tried to move the ball but was getting nothing aim at and pol worth was just terrible...I tend to defend him, but the more I watch him the more I think he's another Shane Sutherland, had potential but wasn't given enough time when he first broke through and now is getting used when the team is short and missing 1st team players! The 3 attackers didn't have a good game...Christie was no where near as positive and forward thinking, Vincent didn't want to commit and tried to play to central and storey had a real off day, holding the ball to much and not making his usual bursting runs! Sutherland should have been on much much earlier but suppose it's unreal to think we'd use more than one sub before the 87th minute Hopefully we'll get draper and mutumbo back for Tuesday...but given up seeing anyone else in the squad!
  13. agreed...that post one of the worst I've read yet! John Hughes was the manager that led us to 2 cup finals, one trophy European football and good passing football (most of the time)! Yes the squad he took over was developed by butcher and co but he couldn't get us to a cup final and he never got us European football having missed out with a poor performance in Dingwall and if I remember correctly he was the manager when we were 2-0 at half time in the challenge cup final to Dundee team who were nothing special and we lost! Highes got us through one semifinal with 9 men, got us playing far better football and the other achievements which I've already stated! IMO Hughes should be offered a contract with some added improvements! And in terms of player recruitment...maybe all he needs is a decent scout...just as butcher had in Steve Marsella!!!
  14. Can we still join the championship or is it to late?
  15. I might be thinking to optimistically but I can't see Hughes going to Utd...I think that if its true they're going to announce someone on Monday then it's a free agent and most likely McCall seen as he could well be out of his Scotland post within the next week! Saves Thompson paying any compensation and still getting a decent enough manager! I doubt that Hughes would want to leave stability that he has here for a mess of a club like Utd and I have a feeling, after reading Cameron's statement, that a contract may have been offered or is in the pipeline...this however just going on the fact he said they wanted Hughes for the remainder of this season and beyond.
  16. The simple fact is yogi cannot reject a contract that's hasn't been offered! If the club put down a first offer then it'll give him something to think about should he decide to talk to dun Utd...does he accept the contract, gain at least a little stability and carry on the great job he's done so far or does he accept a contract from utd and face being out of a job and no wages in a 8 months should it not go to plan done there! Yogi might also reject Utd for any number of reasons but that does not mean we're keeping him...so at the end of the day I think the board should be putting a contract offer on the table and work at it from there. in terms of contracts for players I do think we should be offering players, that are the back bone of the team, contracts so we're not yet again keeping fingers crossed through January!
  17. Bloody delighted!!! Wat and atmosphere the guys created in the away stand, but yet again I was left disappointed at being stuck in amongst people who make as much noise as mouse fart! Then when I tried to move, I came up against an ******** steward! How ever, enough of the negativity, another 3 points, not far off top six and gives us extra confidence for the forth coming games and of course the quarter final. Great shift from everyone of them but a poor referee as expected! Let's get Hughes signed up and then storey too
  18. who'll replace Christie? And with 4 players back in contention who'll miss out? I'll go with: Fon williams raven. Devine. Meekings. Tremarco Draper. Tansey Vincent Polworth. Williams Storey subs: esson, Lopez, sho-silva, vigurs, Horner, Sutherland, and mutumbo i'd keep the as much of the team from last week as possible and I think polworrh deserves the chance.

    R C Tickets

You need to phone Ross county for tickets if our office sells out their allocation. The number is 01349860860
  20. I take it those who want rid of the league cup won't be at the county game and won't travel to watch the team should they make the semis/final? The way I see it is it's a chance for a trophy and more exciting days out. Plus I'll go and support any game I can!

    R C Tickets

No singing section...when I asked on Saturday the lady in the ticket office said she hadn't been given enough tickets to dedicate a singing section (or something along those lines! Just get as close to the back and make as much noise as possible then you're effectively in the signing section
  22. Normally to win the cup you'd have to beat the best so I'll go with a home draw against Celtic...it'll be they're second string and tbh I see there being as much chance of us beating them than anyone! Obviously if you want a big shot at another semi final then Morton or Dundee Utd would be 2 of the better draws but there's more chance of making the final and going for it if we can beat Celtic early on! When it comes to semi finals and finals they start playing a stronger team so catching them when they're weaker would be better. Either that or hope that someone else can beat them and we beat our opponents.
  23. .what the hell are they doing In training when foran, tremarco, sho-Silva and Lopez are all missing from the bench? 4 of them have barely played in weeks
  24. so another big game...looking like a decent attendance, going by posts on Facebook by the club and the etickiting stadium view! But more importantly, what's going to be the starting line up? Anyone think there should be changes after Wednesday's game? I'm going with: Fon Williams raven Devine meekings. Tremarco Tansey Draper Williams Vincent Christie Storey subs: Esson, foran, sho-silva, Horner, mutumbo, vigurs and Ferguson/Sutherland Provided all that are there are fit then that's the squad I'd go with. fed up of watching Lopez, bout time one of the development lads get a shout as the only way they can prove they're up to it is by getting a chance...same as Christie did! Lopez has already proved time and time again he's not up to it(yet) and until he does then we're better off giving someone else a shout.
