  1. surely they can't be waiting for tomorrow's tie! Either way, the old firm will have to be on different days and it's inevitable they'll both be on telly so I don't see why they can't just tell us that our game will be the sat or sun! I'd imagine sky sports will get 2 games and BBC one game, so why they can't just say that Rangers and Celtic will be live and pick one of the other ties! But no, it's got to be the hard way, screw the punters and make Scottish football worse than it already is with **** poor crowds! Anyway I hope to go but I'll only get if it's Saturday so hope it works out!
  2. The hibs game will be undoubtedly a hard game, whether they have 3 or 4 out! At the moment, so do we! But I think we could go there and counter attack! Their fans will be wanting them pushing up the field and there's weaknesses in that defence...for a start both full backs push high up and leave no cover! If we have Raven and meekings back then we will have a strong back 4! We just need to hope that these 2 plus Williams and at a push Vincent are fit and we'll have a strong squad! Also, Hibs might be doing well in that league, but like some of us seen in their game vs livi, they can be pretty p*ss poor! So theirs no reason we can't win this tie! I think in the semis I'd take anyone but Celtic! I wouldn't be screaming for a Rangers game but again I don't see why we couldn't beat them! More favourable would be us vs Dumbarton semi (at mcdermitt park) then pumping the not so noisy neighbours in the final!
  3. Watching the Dundee vs St Johnstone game and the more I watch Nick Ross the more I wish we'd kept him and made use of him! He's having a great first half and although he's playing more central we could certainly have used him! We really have to get players like Vincent, Williams, Doran signed up for next season!
  4. Interesting to hear quite a few of the supporters down at yesterday's game saying that we deserved to win, better team and so on. Well both the "sportscenes" commentator and "open all mikes" commentator seemed to think that Motherwell should have been the team to score and that they were the better side! Whenever I listen to either, I can't help but think that the commentators are looking for reasons to slag us off! Is it just me or does anyone else think this?
  5. Absolutely delighted today!!!! Never got down to game but it's a wonder you never cheering when score came through on sportscene results...my dad tried and failed to hush me( he's a sheepshagger)! But in all seriousness the team done excellently getting us through and scoring late instead of conceding! Questions is: who do we want next?
  6. Yeah we'd like to have seen him and McKay or storey but to prove us wrong I hope he and McKay fail and wind up without clubs again in the summer! Showing no ambition...if only they could all be like storey
  7. Fon williams raven. Warren. Devine. D.williams . Tansey. Draper mutumbo. Polworth. Roberts Storey subs: Esson, tremarco, Hughes, R.williams, vigurs, foran, wedderburn. Cant see any of our injured players returning! I would like to see us have D.williams in midfield but i read that yogi hoped to start Roberts last week so wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him start tomorrow! If not then Williams in midfield and tremarco at LB! Although if Vincent was to return I still couldn't see him starting!
  8. People assume because it's an official club statement...not a journalists view or story, not a statement from another club or manager! It's an ICTFC statement which is something the supporters are always crying out for. Now we get one, and the odd one or two can't help themselves but to find every negative, from this whole saga, and make up their own views. I also agree with another post where the person said he would need convincing not to move and double his wages...I'm almost 100% it would be the same with anyone else on this forum. and finally, your tesco story....total bollocks
  9. Great post. why people can't move on from It I don't know...there's always got to be negative posts on this forum! The clubs announcement on GT staying being cleverly worded? I don't think so...he said previously he made a mistake leaving and clearly he doesn't feel like making the same mistake...he's staying, end of!!!
  10. We seem to be doing exactly what we criticise the press of doing...over speculating. Of course we were worried about losing tansy but imo the club statement clears it up and we should look forward to seeing him spraying balls round the park again! Like I said in a earlier post, nobody actually knew if tansey actually wanted to go and so far, this is the only real evidence that suggested he didn't. Yet again it's agents that are controlling transfers and I'll bet this one will end up wishing he kept quiet! I dont want to see either club fined or penalised for this, I'd rather Aberdee apologised, Caley accepted and the clubs move on with no bad blood before next weekends game. But only time will tell as to what comes next...
  11. So what we have is foran, draper Tansey, Hughes, ryan Williams as cm choices! D.williams, Vincent, Roberts, mutumbo, and polworth as attacking players who can play wide! Also wedderburn and vigurs if need be! Hughes and D.Williams can be utilised as defender and the other williams can be used as a wide player or attacking mid! IMO we have probably enough midfielders but could now do with these two proving themselves and succeeding. Should this happen I'd let wedderburn and maybe vigurs go in the summer! Defence we could do with a CB who'd be comfortable in LB! And up front we have storey, fisher and Sutherland (who needs some game time)! If Foran felt fit he could also press further up the field using his experience to assist storey plus he can win a header! However I wouldn't say no to another (proven) striker coming in.
  12. This Tansey shituation is a bit messy to say the least! I'm delighted the club are sticking up for themselves but since when did we become so brave that we're causing havoc in a transfer saga? I'm guessing that the sheep haven't used the correct channels to speak with Tansey given that we rejected the offer yet somehow he's still agreed to move? The club isn't going to let a player speak with another team unless a bid has been accepted! Pretty poor from a team that consider themselves as second biggest in Scotland now! however I do worry that this has now unsettled a key player and that he won't be played between now and the end of the season! Sayin all that, does anyone actually know if Tansey wanted to go! I've read all the reports but then I've also seen that he wasn't so keen on the move and also been told he's sacked his agent! On the striker search, again we've been left disappointed slightly yet not surprised! At the same time, unless we were going get someone on loan then the window shitting makes no difference! The frustrating thing is Hughes made it clear we wanted stokes but it was never really going to happen IMO! Yet when it comes to searching we never make it that clear who we're actually going for! It's always a few trialists! The new signings have given me a little confidence though. one has been in first team action for the last few seasons a stuck with one team whilst the other is apparently a decent free kick taker and was signed by Brentford who are a good team...it was just a case of he couldn't break into the first team!
  13. Sky sports has just confirmed that we've accepted Aberdeens offer
  14. Tansey for me is the most vital player in the squad and is without a doubt my favourite player. This deal wouldn't surprise me though and this would be the most gutting loss of them all. If hughes has thought it through and the club do sell Tansey then I hope we're going to use the money and try for a decent midfielder before midnight! I don't know much about Stuart bannigan or Abdul osman but some tell me they're both decent midfielders! Could the money be used to buy one of these? I think both are out of contract in the summer so it could happen
  15. Fon williams raven. Warren Devine. Tremarco Tansey polworth. Draper. williams Mutumbo . Storey subs: Esson, foran, Roberts, Sutherland, brown, vigurs, wedderburn. Unless vigurs plays instead of tremarco then I think this will be the starting line up! Tansey seems to drop deeper than draper to pick the ball and play out! And I've noticed that we still try to play with someone in behind storey! This to me is probably the strongest line up at the moment, certainly from players that are fit! I'd like to see Roberts get a start but I can't see it coming tomorrow! If Foran was fit to start then I'd like to see him either supporting storey (winning headers especially) or along side Draper/Tansey with the other pushing in behind storey! Hopefully the game will go ahead and it'll be the start of a decent run again! I also hope the to coverage doesn't put off people coming out.
  16. Absolutely delighted that they've signed up! 2 big players for us! Draper especially...but Esson is still a good keeper and I'm sure will turn out to be a great coach for us! Both deserved their deals as they've played a huge part in the clubs success and can hopefully contribute to another 3 years of it
  17. Where do people get their numbers from seriously? Our average attendance is well below 4000, in fact it's below 3500! Apart from the Celtic, Abereen and hearts games, we never have more than 3500! And those are the clubs that bring big away supports! The county games have a higher attendance but even these games are bringing less people through the gates! If you look on the club website fixture list, it gives you the attendances for each game and no where do I see a huge rise from last year! And even if they are slightly up, if you look at 2007 the attendances are well over 4000 which we hardly see for a game against Motherwell, dun utd etc. Also, there is far more than 50000 people in Inverness now and I'd bet a lot of supporters are from outside the town! So I don't think we can base low numbers on the population of the city! We need to stop looking for reasons as to why the attendances are going down and just accept that football is to expensive and there's not enough interest anymore! The tv issue really gets to me now! This is also a reason as to why less people attend football but it's not an excuse for our club as we only get around 5 league games a season! But live screening of games really has ruinied football especially when tv company's can basically determine when a game will be played instead of when it's going to suit the people that want to go and watch it! In reality, we should be getting around 4000-4500 a week but I can't see it happening anytime soon!
  18. I agree, yesterday was basically same crowd, loss of money! Go back around 9 years and you'd see 4000 as an average! in terms of doing much more, unrealistically the club could go and spend £50m and start winning lots of trophy's! But realistically I really don't know! You can't get away with pay what you can and other huge discounts every week or we'll just end up like DFS...a club with a constant sale! And of course we'd be losing money. The simple fact is it's not just us that struggle for fans...numbers are constantly on the decline, apart from Aberdeen and hearts, in Scottish football! And the only reason they're getting them is because they're winning games more often than not! In truth, we won't see bigger attendances until the price of Scottish football drops right down, but I fear by then the standard will dropped right down.
  19. Well I can't say I'm surprised that Hughes may have been questioning commitment because that was dreadful...infact shambolic! The defence were pretty solid, but from there on it was just sore to watch! Tansey played side to side (but had no options) draper just didn't seem to be up to it and vigurs was just a disgrace! Mutumbo tried but seemed to think he was playing rugby always running into trouble and Williams didn't seem to be involved in anything! Storey as usual ran the channels, done what he could but just isn't getting chances! Why was polworth not playing? Him over vigurs any day! And how can Hughes not see that when we're putting in a performance like that a change is needed! Foran, Sutherland, Roberts...3 players fit again and can make a difference yet none of them were used! I couldn't even take a positive out of that, top 6 or not, it felt like a defeat! We can only hope that the hearts game next week triggers the kind of run we had last time!
  20. I'd agree with most of that...but for me Vigurs has a lot of improving to do! Apart from the goal on Tuesday, he doesn't cover nearly enough ground than the others do and his passing has been a fraction of what he can do! And this is nothing to do with previous clubs..vigurs is one I want to see doing well! Storey for me has to be it so far...his goals and running are what's keeping the front line going, his attitude is great...even when things are against he believes he can make the difference! Polworth would be second choice so far...improved so much and is also now a key player in the first 11! And for me Tansey and draper would fight for third! The rest of the squad done well to keep us going, we just need a little consistency in the team and for these bloody injuries to ease off...gutted for fisher
  21. Yes, and I'm not one that would go for someone just because they've played in this league or because they're available! It could be that he's just never had the right mentor! He was obviously good enough for utd to bother buying him when they were in a very good spell! Plus from what I've seen on him he has the pace and skill to do well! But if you're gonna judge him on this season then I'm guessing you wouldn't take any of the Utd players because they've all been short on confidence and not playing well! And on the scoring, well he's not a striker, so I wouldn't expect him to score a lot! This Is just my opinion, and like i said before it's pure speculation on my half but if we had any say then I'd definitely go for him
  22. I don't see why he wouldn't! It's not like he's made a huge name for himself! Besides, I can't imagine his wages are going to be huge as he was still on his first utd contract. And he's bound to be looking at teams pushing higher up the league and that need someone like him. This is a young guy who's come from Queen's Park and never really been given a chance under utds new manager! So it's not like any "big" teams are going to be chasing him! Hughes wants young, fast players in the team and we're crying out for someone that can play wide so they could well work out...but of course we actually have to offer him a contract, because this has been pure speculation from me.

    Pies

The derby at Dingwall at the beginning of last year, there was 5 of us! I got 5 hot dogs and 2 hot chocolates for just under £16! On Tuesday, I got 2 pies, a tea and a Coke it cost me £9.20! And the guy short changed me too! 2 thing to take note: 1)our caterers are seriously over priced...especially when you compare them to our neighbours. 2) the staff in there can't count cause I dunno how many times I've been overcharged and I've heard of others having the same problems.
  24. Would anyone take in Aiden Connolly? I would...young, likes to go forward and can play on the wing
  25. I don't have Twitter so I don't know what else has been said on his page!! But if anyone can guarantee that Meekings is referring to yogis comments then I'll get worried...but until then I'll ignore the fact he ever said anything! Yogis comments though are very risky. After what the majority of these players have done for us and him in the last 2 years, there's no way should be questioning them! But again, like said before, it could all be real quotes, maybe just parts have been missed out! I'm sure Hughes is smart enough to know that he, if not anyone else, needs his players onside and supporting him.
