  1. I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty annoyed with the performance tonight! I thought that we'd be able to knock the ball about well going forward but at times (mainly first half) I thought it was shocking! And when we were passing, it was about 15 yards further back than when we do it in a league game! But as others have said, it's a cup game and we're through so we'll just have to hope that somehow, Hughes can get them back on form because the last week and a half has been pretty worrying! Mutumbo and storey the only 2 jags on the field worth a mention..mutumbo ran at them all night long...and for spells, again in the first half mainly was our only hope going forward! Storey done what he could and if one or two through balls had been better he may have had a proper clear cut chance! One real positive was seeing Roberts and foran! I thought Foran actually done well and seemed to move more freely than the last couple of appearances which we can only hope is a good sign
  2. Am I the only one who doesn't think we'll be in a relegation battle! Clearly there's a confidence problem atm after the Stirling game but on league form that's our first loss in 6!!! Killie will drop away...that was their first home win since October, and they'll begin to slip up again! Motherwells confidence has taken a hit after their thumping! And Patrick, I think, could well struggle as well! In all honesty I cannot see us being so poor until the end of the season that we're in danger of finishing below that 3! Worst case scenario is 8th place! But I still think pushing st J is a very real target. A good performance and some goals on Tuesday night will get them going and hopefully take that on to sat and hope that Aberdeen do us a favour on Friday.
  3. Stupidest comment yet? And I thought half on my answers was me talking sh*te! Anyway, back to the real world! Cummings and malonga won't happen...one will go to an English club and the other will end up in scots league 2. Nicky Clark would be a decent signing IMO, he can score plenty of goals. But I couldn't see him cumming to us! El Bakhtoui would be well worth it though and like stated in other comments Dunfirmline won't let him go on the cheap! And I understand that the club can't throw money at transfers and that even if they gave Hughes money he might have others lined up!
  4. Fon Williams is a great keeper but personally I think Brill is the better keeper all round! One thing that could prove to be decisive is that brill had the same 4 in front of him for the majority of last season where as FW has had an unsettled defence. That said, brill looks more confident when the ball is back to him and is better in the air! Brill also gets at his defender all 90 mins of a game keeping them sharp and alert which is something I haven't seen so much of from FW! I would love to have these 3 keepers on the books next season but if I had to choose it would be Brill and Esson!
  5. Ah well...nothing new! Give the supporters hope we'll get a big name player then let down at the last! Never know...he might have been useless! Anyway I Wont hinder on it..instead we should still look to get someone like GMS or this young lad that they've been raving about!
  6. Williams on the left, Doran on the right and polworth behind storey! That would be my choice! I hope to Christ that both Doran and Raven will be offered deals! Williams is one of our most attack minded players so I don't see how anyone wouldn't want him in the squad! I wouldn't be all that fussed to see Tremarco, mutumbo, vigurs, and one or two others! But Vincent still has plenty to offer, as does Doran, Raven and Devine
  7. yeah I guess so, Motherwell just seems to be a game I never expect us to win! Not that partick games have been that great but rhers just something about Motherwell I hate! Got to beat any team to win the cup so this ones no different
  8. What a shitey draw! And I'll be the one to start on about the OF but yet again Sevco are home and Sceptic get an easy draw...there's a surprise! None the less, we won it last year and there no reason we can't again! Just a little bit tougher to start with!
  9. Fon williams raven. Warren. Draper. Tremarco . Tansey. Polworth roberts. Vincent. Williams . Storey subs: Esson, vigurs, fisher, wedderburn, mutumbo, foran, Sutherland if roberts isn't fit then mutumbo! Other than that we need pace on the wings and wedderburn struggled against Stirling albeit in the wrong position!
  10. I dunno about others but I think I'd rather see main stand and on part of north stand open to make what's going to be a quiet stadium a little noisier!! cant see their being more than 2000 there...I hope I'm wrong though! But I think it would look a little better just filling the main stand (closed parts) and if need be then letting some through to north stand!
  11. Esson raven. Warren. Devine Williams . Draper polworth. Tansey. Roberts . Storey. Sutherland subs: fon Williams, tremarco, Vincent, Foran, mutumbo McRae! I'd like to see one or two changes but nothing crazy! Esson deserves a chance, Roberts needs some time on the team provided he's fit enough and give Sutherland a chance with storey! Although we don't wanna give them chances I'd like to see us go for goals with 2 halves of attacking football but keeping tight at the back as well!
  12. We're all going on a European tour... One or two signings along with no big departures and we will be pushing hearts and st Johnstone..I don't doubt it!
  13. I was delighted with the win but I'm going to be greedy and say I wish we'd made the most of the second half! First half was more county's yet we got in 2-0 up...and for a nice change dominated the second half! But that's the sort of game we need to be capitalising on and scoring goals! However, enough of the negatives! Fantastic day, excellent turnout and we're on a we roll, currently unbeaten in 5! Don't want to get my hopes up to much but I can't help thinking that this time last year we were in 5th place and finished third! A long way to go, but if Hughes can keep them fit and have a good second half of the season then there's no reason why we can't challenge hearts for the European spot! On to next week and the defence of the Scottish cup begins...buzzing!
  14. I can't see us keeping tremarco but I think Raven is a good a right back that we can get. Hopefully Roberts will impress but I'm not getting my hopes up for about the others! Hopefully we'll keep storey and get one or 2 in! The one thing I will say is that I'm still certain we can push for top 3 as we're only one place behind where we were this time last year! And that's after a struggling start...imagine what we could achieve if we go on a good run and keep our players fit... and a run in the cup to at least the semis would be nice...but I wouldn't say no to 2 big days at Hampden
  15. I always wanted to see polworth getting a proper chance and he certainly hasn't disappointed! He has stepped up to be a very important player for us and I hope that the club can sort out a good contract for him! As we seen on Wednesday he is also a player that will hit a ball from outside the box which is, unfortunately, something we don't see a great deal of! Liam can only get better from here and I hope we get to see him in his best years!
  16. I think we will bring them back down to earth...they're five points ahead of us yet they've had a great start to their season and we haven't! Wins on sat and away at killie will have us chasing hearts and st Johnstone and hopefully with a little luck and concentration we can challenge those 2 for 4th place! Saturday could be the start of county's down fall! anything can happen in a derby but I'd like to think that our bigger and better players will show county just who's boss in the north! Not that I believe it for a moment but the main stand appears to be full or very close so hopefully we'll get a decent support out to back the players! Let's have a happy start to the new year....
  17. No which is why they'll regionalise it where possible. They wouldn't have suggested that idea in the press release if they didn't have a plan in place for when such occurrences happen!
  18. Could be wrong but I'm certain I read that storey was happy and was possibly looking to stay! Mutumbo started well but the way things are going for him now I'd rather see Aiden Chippendale back! Vigurs so far hasn't been great but he himself has come out and said he's not been happy with his performances so hopefully he'll improve! Sooner Lopez is gone the better! Sho-silva looked like a good find against hearts in his 10 minute spell but hasn't done a thing since! Storey is a must, as is resigning most of the current squad! Unless we lose some of our players then we only really need a striker and a winger IMO!
  19. I seem to be one of very few that is glad to see a change! The league cup is another chance for a trophy and some excitement! The only thing I ever had against the competition was that you only had to win one game and you were in the quarterfinals...which is far to short! having the group stage makes the competition far more interesting and more competitive! Plus a chance to see us play against one or two other teams! My only disappointment with it is all the group games being played before the season starts! Why not do the groups through September and October, move 2/3 league games and have the cup games as weekends to attract more punters and big up the competition! Yes it means league games being midweek but there's 38 league games a season, moving 2/3 to improve a major cup competition shouldn't be a problem! The regionalisation is a good idea as it would mean we likely play county, Elgin, highland league winner and either st Johnstone or Aberdeen! And for those who want to see a European place for the winner then keep dreaming cause there's no chance of that happening anytime soon!
  20. Daniel Bruhl and Iain vigurs
  21. Would have to disagree about the tansey/draper partnership...they were after all the centre of our most successful team!
  22. By the time this seasons final is played......this dvd will have been watched more than any in my house :-)
  23. Fon williams raven. Warren. Meekings williams . Tansey . Polworth. Draper. Vincent Storey. Sho-silva subs: esson, Horner, mutumbo, vigurs, tremarco, Devine, Sutherland. would sooner see Sutherland on bench that Lopez! Draper and tansey could swap in rolls I'd have them in...just think it suits tansey to sit deep and spread the ball whilst draper likes to get forward and can always take a chance by making a target of himself for crosses!
  24. Good start to our defence...by no means will we just turn up and win it but certainly a very winnable game! Looking forward to a wee trip down the road! I'm sure either team will get a decent home crowd...hopefully there'll be a good number of our own fans there too!
  25. Yogi and Mr Rice sign on...fantastic!! On wards and upwards!
