80 mile round trip for me each game but I broke from tradition today and left early ... 15 mins early .... when it was 2-0 to St Mirren ... but tremendous fight back lads, well done ... just absolutely gutted I missed our goals

I didn't see how it ended but certainly saw the start of aggro in the Main stand refreshment stall. As an Inverness fan (no idea who the Inverness culrpit(s) were), I was embarrassed/ashamed. It started with some friendly banter from a couple of possibly well-oiled but decent-natured Dumbarton fans at the head of the catering queue offering to sing a song for us . However it developed into aggro machismo nonsense and aggressive posturing imho because an Inverness fan came down into the refreshments area initially shouting random frustration about Vigurs but then turning his frustration/aggressive shouts towards the said Dumbarton fans (almost as though he thought they were specifically addressing him ... which they weren't). In truth, the Dumbarton lads were just looking for a laugh. I didn't perceive any ill will at that stage from them. I was close to telling the Inverness fan to pipe down but thought it might just antagonise him further and hoped it might just peter out. My aged father-in-law did actually ask him politely to stop shouting in his earhole (because that's how it felt from his close proximity). The female steward on hand was out of her depth and the Dumbarton fans having been served were encouraged to remove themselves by another steward that came on the scene ... which unfortunately involved the Dumbarton fans having to pass said Inverness fan. By this time, the Dumbarton boys had (possibly understandably) lost their sense of humour and were getting a bit aggro themselves. To be frank, I'd have been annoyed had I been in their shoes. There may have been a physical exchange back outside the refreshment stall area with that or another Inverness fan after/in the course of the Dumbarton fans exiting the refreshment stall area. Naturally, I don't condone either side throwing fists but, like I say, I didn't see how it ended. Well done for the club taking a firm stance on this. I remember when there used to be a tannoy announcement before home matches that said we're a family club and we should kindly refrain from foul and abusive language. It may sound corny these days but it saddens me somewhat that a very small element of our support seems to have moved away significantly from behaviour that's acceptable.

Lol the possession stat looks even more ridiculous looking at these highlights ... well done to George for the assist ... made up for the header miss of Ronnie Rosenthal epic proportions

I can't fathom that possession stat at all. Looked much more like the reverse from where I was sitting.

Well, for me, that was the best team performance at home this season. Lacking maybe in goals but no lack of application and energy. All over the pitch we were 100% committed to pressing and picking up loose/2nd balls. Deserving of a wider margin of victory. Utd were played off the park and their threat snuffed out. Difficult to pick out a man of the match. Doran must start more. Mackay needs more game time. Almost wish the season was just starting now. Well done all!

Yes indeed ... and watching back on Alba today, his regaling at half-time of teamtalks from the 03-04 season also leaves warm glow.

If we had won today there was still a slim chance of catching Morton given our games in hand but I think that now is that. The focus now is win the cup and finish safe in the division.

According to Jim "i'm such an arab my hair's tangerine" Spence, we're completely dominant but wasteful and should be well up. Same old ICT! Hope we don't pay for the wasted chances but fear we may.

Ah yes. Haven't tried that van but just saw it for the first time yesterday ... just after finding out the usual caterers had completely ran out of pies. Utter farce! I'll be trying the same van as you next time.

I get that facilities need big improvement but improvements cost money and we are already running at a huge 6 figure deficit. I was again really frustrated yesterday with the standard of catering. It was much worse than Ross County's before relegation ... but it's even worse now. That said, last year we didn't have a proper club shop. Now we have a big improvement there. Things take time. Fans previously didn't feel the love because of a lack of communication ... but that also has improved and the recent chairman's statement has highlighted the stark financial shortfall and the need for higher sales to help us keep going (along with investment). That may also help with the other improvements we all want to see.

Yes, even Scottish Cup win didn't stimulate a marked ongoing increase in interest so I'm also at a loss there as well. Might the fear of insolvency? Don't know. I'm in complete agreement with your comments on price. I live an hour away but I would happily renew the season ticket even if it increased. I would go further ... if we're serious about wanting our club to survive and thrive, then we'll not just renew but also buy what we sensibly can from the shop as well. Yes we've fallen from where we were ... but we need to remember where we came from ... non league football ... it's been some journey with ups and downs but I would hope that genuine fans have the stamina and the love for their club to continue and renew.

Austin is slower than a week in jail. Should nickname him "sick note". We were better off with Baird. Seedorf naive for challenge that led to penalty. Missing Mulraney and Donaldson today. A post, a crossbar and a disallowed goal. League season over

All I was doing was complimenting you ... nothing more. Think you're reading too much into my last post. I totally got what you were saying/speculating. Was just grateful for a lack of sarcasm.

I am well aware of claims that Wikipedia is not entirely reliable. What makes newspaper reports more reliable? I don't think we should throw the baby out with the bathwater. As noted in snorbey_snowman's helpful contribution, the figure is curiously precise. I didn't say it was right or wrong but it attracted interest and was looking for someone who might know/corroborate the actual facts of the deal.

The Wikipedia page has no end of useful stats on the club but one that stood out for me was the record transfer fee for Ryan Christie. I thought it was way more than that. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverness_Caledonian_Thistle_F.C.

Maybe. Caley D said on ICTFC FB/Twitter last week that he was coming away from it and that he'd be grateful for patience with the newbie. Seems a glaring oversight though ... even for a newbie

Quite surprising that he said/thought that. I know they are part-time but they've played in every European club competition that there has ever been. I suppose it was a chance to reach the final of a competition outside the Northern Ireland goldfish bowl.

Pie and Bovril is often good for extra insight from more balanced opposing fans. Today is no different ... 1. When we've been 11 players over the last two games, we've been the best team they (Falkirk) have faced. 2. The sending-off changed everything. Who knows the result if Mulraney hadn't had his inexplicable meltdown. 3. Mulraney should be fined and ICT should pay that fine to Falkirk to pay for the damage he apparently inflicted on the dressing room door. 4. Why did we bother getting Baird and Austin when we already had Mackay at the club.
