Never mind Annan Athletic, we are only a mere 18 points off the top of the table, and we are Inverness Caledonian Thistle. Anything is possible (except controlling Bert). C'mon Caley - we love you

I think that we have to be brutally honest and face the fact that football crowds in 2024 will never again be like those from the last century. Going to the footie was a really big weekend event when I was younger, the highlight of the weekend, before a more sedate day on a Sunday. The crowds were huge at games. TV coverage was very limited, but even at home, when the results came in silence was demanded while people checked their pools coupons. Nowadays it is just one of the very many weekend opportunities available both in the real world and virtually, and people just don't want to commit so much time and money to one event. I have no idea what wages are for the boys at our club, but I don't think clubs at our level can afford to use high pay as a way to lure players to their club. We must accept that players have to really want to play football as a career, whatever the wages are, and that they cannot expect to be paid more than other young people earn in the area where they live. This does make attracting players difficult, but we have to live within our means. When big money becomes the over riding incentive to any player, then something is lost - the main incentive should always be the possibilities on the pitch. -
I think that despite everything, the good times may just be here again.

I have absolutely no doubt that our boys will win again this week. Being the underdog does suit us, and it's against the top of the table again - bring it on! Have fun lads

Everyone has a bad day now and again, but onwards and upwards ICTWFC

Who do P&D support I wonder. It would be great if they could write a tune for the club.

I put my hands up to having no idea about the legalities concerning the land around the stadium, but it would be wonderful to work towards making the area a destination for more than just football. I read somewhere that there was talk of having the official start/finish of the NC500 there, which would be great, especially if there was some sort of start/finish monument for photos. The stadium could provide toilet and shower facilities on weekdays (and weekends too over the summer), and if there was some type of restaurant facilities available, even better. Merchandise wise, hats, scarfs and tops with an ICT/NC500 collaboration on them (could the vast quantities of kit be adapted?) could bring in some pennies and mini stadium tours could also be offered (for a fee). The bar could open in summertime, with seating outside. There are probably a million reasons why these ideas would not work, but it would be great to see the area busied up a bit, and if we all keep throwing ideas in the hat then something is bound to be a money spinner. -
Best of luck to our small but perfectly formed, titanium squad for tomorrows game. Making short work of the deducted points, starts here, one game at a time, and we have faith in you all to do just that. Enjoy it, lads - the future for ICT starts here.

What would you expect really, they love to stick the knife in even deeper. It has always felt that where ICT are concerned they really can't stand it if we try to rise above our lowly, wee highland club, station. -

Why stop at a book? When Eden Court reopened in the noughties after a big transformation, they had a competition to write a Highland musical for the grand reopening. At the time I thought that ICT's speedy rise through the divisions would have have been a good subject, and so much more has happened since then. Of course it would have to be in the fictional Inversneck and any resemblance to real life characters would be by pure chance. It does upset me that DF, as he took his little box of tat away with him, did little to conceal the bitterness directed at the fans who stood up to the Kelty nonsense. He does not have a poker face - his thoughts are always written all over it despite what his mouth is saying. It goes a long way to explaining why we heard nothing from him as he sulked his way through the summer break. I had always hoped that he would start to listen to some of the advice that he was hearing regarding his tactics on the field, and I finally thought he was beginning to on Saturday, but that was obviously just him past caring anymore. He comes across as a very vain ('the players love me' - who says that about themselves? - it is for others to say') , not too sharp individual who refuses to consider any view point other than his own. He had no interest in our club and our city, other than to use it as a stepping stone in his career. Our young local talent did not stand a chance of progressing as he was always looking to bring in players from elsewhere, and we are well rid of him. -

Sorry to cause anyone offence, but that just makes me really glad he is gone - what a fan*y. -
On the whole, I like the location of the stadium - it is near enough to walk to from the town centre if you don't have access to a car or fancy a drink or two, and you are not competing with traffic travelling to other events around town. It is central enough for fans from both the east and west of the river without going into town, and for those without transport this is important as crossing the town centre (using public transport for instance) is time consuming and expensive. I can remember many a fine afternoon spent there in the past with a great atmosphere, but it does take a larger support than we have now. The North stand is also as cosy as is possible for the most part if you are nearer the back. The size (seating wise) is obviously too large, but there was no control over that at the time we first entered the top flight, and indeed it was a source of pride that the North and South stands were put in place so quickly, so we are stuck with it. It would be wonderful to have a standing area, but again we were not given that option at the time that the stands were put in place. I still feel that our disabled supporters could do with a little more shelter than they have - maybe a heater in their shelters, like in railway stations, to improve their match day experience, but this is in an ideal world, not an administration situation. I don't really get why the North standers cannot use the facilities in the main stand, it would be good in wet weather and also to touch base with Main stander friends at half time but maybe there is a reason. I'm happy to put up with it and it's imperfections, but if the time came for the stands to be replaced we could opt for smaller, with reduced seating and a standing area. I think you have to make your own atmosphere to an extent - get chatting to those sitting around you - we have made some great friends in our football neighbours over the years.

Could not have put it better. The people who complain about the lack of supporters at games are usually the same ones who moan about the fair weather, glory hunters at cup finals and the like. Even as a season ticket holder who wants the best for my team, I have found it hard to get motivated to go to games at times, so why would people who have no great interest in either football in general or ICT want to spend their hard earned pennies coming to games? Each to their own I say, we have to cut our cloth accordingly, and I am just glad that the 'glory hunters' do come to cup finals or we really would look pretty sad. If you look at the attendances at other league one games you may think that we are doing pretty well, attendance wise.
-
I was also disgusted by this. I'd like to see what these waste of space types would think if it was their family or friend getting mistreated like this. It must take real guts for Ferguson to come on the pitch at all, after all the abuse he and his father have had online.

White Flag by Dido has been running through my head all morning - a very sad day. But thankyou to (nearly)everyone connected to the club over the years, we have some fantastic memories to take forward with us, and for me ICT will always be TITANIUM

The SFL will be delighted to banish us as far down as possible - we're not central beltish enough for them.
