Premier Sports Cup 2022/23
Two away wins today with 10 man (again) Livi coming from behind to beat Cove 2-1 and Albion Rovers going to Kelty and winning 2-0, a bit of a surprise. We can’t be complacent about Tuesday’s game against Albion as they’ve run Livi and Cove close before today’s win, but three points will have us in pole position to get out of the group.

2022 Friendlies
Our under 20 team drew 0-0 with Lossiemouth tonight. A Lossiemouth fan said we were nothing special although our numbers 3 and 6 were the stand outs. Ridgers was in goal.

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
You’d think they’d film it from a better angle. Even the poor footage can’t take away from Mackay’s play at both goals, and what a pass by Allardice. The club’s report: https://ictfc.com/match-report-livingston-1-2-ictfc

A nervy ending but job done. Well done guys. I look forward to hearing what those at the game made of it.

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
Livingston have missed a penalty. They put it over the bar after a foul by Oakley gave the spot kick away.

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
Oh oh. Livingston have 1 back with 6 minutes to play. I hope our lack of central midfielders now won’t come back to bite us.

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
Oakley on for Allardice. We’ve a lot of attacking players on the pitch now!

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
That was Mackay’s last involvement as Doran replaces him. A goal and an assist is a good night’s work. Great to have him back!

Goal!! Dan Mackay. 2-0 up.

Livingston down to 10. Their goalie is off for a foul on Samuels outside the box. Boyd and Mckay on for Hyde and Shaw.

Livingston -V- Inverness CT - LCup
Goal! Austin Samuels. Get in! The assist is credited to Dan Mackay.

It is a bit worrying that we have six first team players missing, presumably all injured: Duffy, Devine, Ram, Welsh, Walsh and Sutherland. I have Livingston as the favourites tonight but am hopeful we can grab a result. We will need to start well and maintain that for the full match.

Kelty Hearts (A): Premier Sports Cup: 9 July
From the highlights, it looked a decent work out against a Kelty team who created quite a bit. We created a few chances, which is encouraging, but we need to sharpen our finishing as teams will punish us if we don’t score when on top. I see Oakley has number 14, which Walsh had last season. I wonder if Walsh has taken number 7 now.

Kelty Hearts (A): Premier Sports Cup: 9 July
Definitely. We have underperformed in this competition format, only qualifying once, and if we don’t win the group we are likely to need 10 points to be a best second placed team and get through. It won’t be easy on Tuesday, but it will also give us a feel for how well the squad is coming together. Listening to Sportsound, it sounds like it was a decent game today. We should have had a penalty, we had some decent chances saved, and Mckay hit the post and had one cleared off the line, but equally Ridgers had a couple of good saves. Hopefully our fans amongst the 601 crowd had a good day out.
