  1. good result considering the nightmare trip the team and staff had to get down there. Shame we couldn't get the win to really shove it in their face but a draw will do me. Big game coming up next week
  2. what a result. I would have taken a point before kick off. Never thought we would come away with all 3 and another clean sheet. My weekend was well and truly made with this result!
  3. Curtis Allen scored in a 2-0 win over Dungannon swifts yesterday
  4. hopefully that can give the team another boost to kick on with another very tough game next week we need to be ready
  5. on that note my next game is booked. Dumbarton in December. Was hoping to do the Falkirk game the week before but the Mrs is coming with me and the Falkirk game doesn't suit her but i don't mind who we are playing as long as i make the game
  6. while ICT isn't the biggest supported club the supporters i know are loyal to the core and wouldn't walk away because of the clubs current state and reading some comments here that some have walked due to it being depressing/hard to watch then fair enough its your money/ your choice no one forces you to go. But for those that still do i consider them supporters. Back in 2015 it was the dream season for me i got to watch my Local team here Glentoran lift the Irish cup gaining European football and a much needed cash injection and then 2 weeks later coming over and watching ICT lift the Scottish cup. Fast forward a short time to the 2016/17 season i sat week in and week out at glens matches seeing us get stuffed by teams we used to dominate, get knocked out of cups by pub teams that got chinned every other week and listen on the radio while ICT was also on the end of a drubbing. Come May time ICT got relegated and the glens finished a lowly 9th of a 12 team league in what was the worst season in the clubs history. Never once did i consider walking away from either side 4 ICT games i came over for that season was 2 losses (county in august and Dundee November) and 2 wins (Elgin scottish cup and Motherwell the day we went down) an expensive hobby following 2 teams but good or bad i stick by my teams and many times the football results have ruined my weekend and left me in a bad mood into the following week it's something i love doing and no matter how tough it gets or how far we fall i'll still be there for when the good times come again it makes them feel that much better
  7. surprised at this one. I use them for all my trips over and they are normally on time and good. The only problem i had with them was the cup final. My flight was delayed 2 hours but i booked the earliest one so in the end it was no big issue for me. Still made it over with plenty of time to spare
  8. that's what they do. A clone of rangers. Same colors, same songs, same fans. No need for that rubbish in football
  9. its not like the Irish or Welsh teams are busting at the pockets either. While i like the inclusion of the irish and welsh teams in the cup it is expensive travel for the ones involved. Same for the scottish teams traveling down too as you say i'm sure Elgin paid a pretty penny to go down to Wales to get chinned
  10. truly shocking. It was always going to be a big ask to bounce straight back but we have just continued in the same fashion as last season. Pathetic and if we keep at it like this will be stuck in yet another relegation fight
  11. Curtis Allen scores a great free kick for Glentoran in a 2-0 home win over warrenpoint town today
  12. I really hope we draw Linfield or Crusaders away for selfish reasons
  13. what a result. Finally have a smile back on my bake. With other results going our way too lets build on this
  14. after the week we have had we really need a win here. Brutal return to the championship for us can't let this turn into a rut so early in the season
  15. Curtis Allen scored once again in a 2-0 home win over Dungannon swifts
  16. only really back to normal thinking now after another heavy weekend on the sauce in Inverness. Really disappointed we didn't at least take a point from that game. I felt we played all the football and were the much better side. . . . A little toothless up front though, also think the utd keeper commanded his box very well he was a big factor in their win. At first i thought the utd pen was a dive but after watching the video back i think it's safe to say the ref got the call right. One of the few he did get right, another awful referee performance which has become the norm for me watching games in the flesh in Scotland. If Craig Thomson is supposed to be one of Scottish footballs best then i am concerned as his display was amateur on Saturday. Just as bad as the refs in the Irish league. Vigurs certainly deserved the MOTM and i also think Raven had a very good game. Bar the result it was another cracking trip over and i already can't wait for the next one. I also walked through the right turnstile this time too
  17. can't wait to get over. Flight leaves tomorrow morning at 9.50 all being well i should hopefully be having a pint in the caley club by 11.30. Looking forward to seeing the new team in action
  18. this happened to me on a trip over a couple years ago. I'd had a few too many beers pre game and walked in the wrong turnstile i was supposed to be in north and ended up in the main stand. I walked over to the door that leads to the north stand and the guy let me through without issue. last time it happened the door was chained and the guy said no. I explained that it was a silly mistake and i had a few but no give from him so i had to exit and go around to the correct gate only to have to keep a calm head and explain what had happened again to the operator as he wasn't going to let us in with our now ripped tickets. Eventually he did let us go but we missed KO and i couldn't help but wonder why we were let in the main stand in the first place with north stand tickets. Felt **** as it was my Mrs first trip over in a while and my dad's very first trip over. It left him with a sour note. Wont make the same mistake a third time. . . . I hope. I can understand health and safety, security and all that but an exception for good ol Johnny Foreigner here
  19. took a wee break from football forums for a few weeks but i am back now and have my flights booked for the first league game of the season. Bring on utd! I'll be in the caley club pre and post game. Hope to see as many of you there as possible
  20. must give me a shout if you are over again. I remember that game unfortunately. Ricky Rea is a nice fella. He loves giving ground tours
  21. Very kind words. I'll certainly be over as much as possible next season as i have done this season and past seasons. I aim for 4 games a season which i have hit this season. I'll be aiming for the same again next season. The welcome and hospitality i received on my very first game over a few years ago will stay with me forever along with all the other trips i make over. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of walking away because we got relegated
