  1. The sfa have issued Hughes with an order of complaint over comments he made about the ref Dallas. Why can refs who have a bad game not be criticised for it? So long as it's done in a measured manner. Hughes is one of the most humble managers out there and readily gives credit where it's due, including towards referees, so why can he not make honest critique when it's necessary. Maybe if refs spent more time taking constructive criticism on board and less time telling teacher they'd do a better job. Players get slaughtered for bad games. Managers slaughtered for bad selection. Why are refs immune?
  2. If he continues to show flashes of the quality in setting up the opener against hearts then I'm happy. That simple.
  3. I thought everyone knew that every successful signing this club has made since 2003 was ok'd by me. The others. I was usually hungover and missed the email.
  4. Just pick it off and put your own one on... Now there's an interesting legal conundrum. Someone purchases an item of branded kit which includes a club's badge, the design of which is presumably the property of that club, but replaces with something else the logo of a sponsor which is also on that kit as a result of a legal agreement between club and sponsor. What does the law say? The buyer, having paid for the item, can do what they want with it? Or the buyer still has no right to corrupt a legally copyrighted design? By the way, observing from the sidelines, with a total of over 150 posts across the two threads, this issue seems to be creating an incredible amount of angst!!! Well I'd probably just put my nickname or something if I done it. Haha! Very unlikely they could do anything anyway. Just tell them that the print came off in the wash and they should be thankful you never went for a refund. I personally think Subway looks tacky. Cairngorm Brewery would look nice. One for the future. I still might buy the shirt.
  5. You don't raise your hands. Every player knows this. It's that simple. You don't give a ref an easy excuse to send you off. And hitting someone in the face is the daftest thing to do. His own fault. Our player perhaps didn't cover himself in glory. He's probably not thought about it. Other than I've been hit, I should go down. He's young and I'm sure Yogi will remind him it's not really appreciated in Scotland. It's nothing to really worry about or discuss. We're missing the real Storey of the night in that we were Miles better than we've been of late and won the game well. Looking forward to the next game now and I think the players will be too. Great!
  6. Or had the fans carry him up perhaps, the 12th man, always supporting the team. Seems that according to BBC preview Meekings, Vincent and Foran are available. Silva and Storey also in contention.
  7. Fon Williams, Raven, Meekings, Devine, Tremarco ; Draper, Tansey ; Christie, Vigurs, Williams ; Lopez Subs: Esson, Horner, Wedderburn, Silva, Storey, Polworth, Vincent/Foran. I see no point rushing long term absentees back into the first 11. Get Vincent and Foran on the bench and ease them in. They'll be lacking a lot of match sharpness anyway. See no point dropping Lopez unless he's not fit to play (or not been good in training but I'm not privy to that.) and with the 3 I picked behind him there is plenty movement around to allow him to get in scoring positions instead. Meekings has to start if fit. He's as tough as an ox anyway so I see no issue throwing him in. Get a balanced defence asap to give us a platform to build on.
  8. Darn it. If only that game came earlier, and we'd have got 100m for our under 21 sensation. I'd rather have him or Gauld in the full team than Forrest. Who just gets the ball, runs, forgets to cross and overhits it over the bye line. Fast but little else.
  9. We ARE only a small club. A nationally renowned club but with a regular fan base of around 2500 and a small budget we are undoubtedly a small club. That is quite simply a matter of fact. *losing As for the shirts, it's not a matter of when the shirts are available but that the fans buy them when they are. If you had the money to buy one in June why not keep it aside? Though I do feel a pre order system at least would help. We are now an established SPFL club and Scottish Cup Winners.. as for attendances we are only ever going to increase the gates by showing ambition and by being a progressive club. Apart from the big boys our attendances are competitive with others in the division. I would like to see our net spend for this year (in terms of new contracts) compared to last and with others in the division because I am sure we are well behind the rest of them. No, its not a matter of simply keeping money aside for strips. When are you more likely to buy a new strip? a) when you have just won the Scottish Cup and are competing in Europe with the hope and expectancy of the new season or b) when we are no longer in Europe, memories of the Scottish Cup win are fading* and we are 6 games in without a win and scored only 4 goals and worse yet - County are flying. That's for existing fans. What about new fans that we could have attracted after the Scottish Cup Win, are they still likely to keep money aside for a new top? It's supply and demand. We had the demand and still have no supply. Also Cabrini? The fans are paying the same price for football tops that are being made by an inferior brand ... Imagine a new fan or a fan that is being swayed towards ICT, went to the final celebrated with the rest of us. Loved it! ICT release 2 new nice as **** adidas tops (just for 1 season) ... guaranteed sales. Fans delighted walking about wearing these tops, others see them and also want one.. sales spike and ICT has not only made a profit on purchases but also have recruited a new set of fans. An adidas ICT top is more of a pipe dream but even stay with Errea for one more season and just make sure that we have tops available for any potential new fans! If making a new deal with Cabrini ... insist that we have our new strips before now... better yet get ahead of the game and strike a deal before last season had ended!! Show a bit of organisation .... do your job. * to be fair will take a long time before I forget that day Admittedly not having strips well into the new season is a bit of a joke. (Though I only ever get mine for Xmas anyway. Hopefully be in the shops by then). The club is noted for being slow on it though so perhaps we need to learn to expect it, whilst venting our annoyance at the poor preparation. Whether we are an established SPFL team or not, doesn't directly impact on the size of our club and in comparison to others ICT are relative minnows. Probably only similar to St Johnstone and Ross County in this league. Hamilton perhaps also. But that makes our success all the more satisfying to me. The fact our resources are limited but we use them so well.
  10. Younger strikers often have skewed appearance to goal stats and you can't read too much into them. This will hopefully be the year he evens it out. Any idea what his youth records like?
  11. What are you on about. The subtext is pretty obvious. He's delighted to sign for the club he supports and who his father before did also. He's every right to be ecstatic about it. And he's showing no disrespect in doing so. Especially when he later states he's got to get his head down and hit the targets with us that have been set. That's showing an immense amount of professionalism and respect for one so young. Really hope that the move works out for him and he goes on to play for Scotland. I'd be more gutted to see him stagnate on the bench there. And unless something drastic happens he'd always be welcome back at The TCS.
  12. Silva might be cover for Doran and Storey the striker we need. But I'd rather spend double the money available on the striker and give Ferguson and Sutherland a go to cover for Doran.
  13. The only way to find out if Ferguson or Sutherland are good enough is to give them ago. Though I think Yogi might want to do that from the bench in games we're winning. Ease them in. However sometimes throwing a kid in can be the making of them.
  14. Although the Scottish 'correspondant' on SKY Sports News was just saying that he understands that Celtic have a clause whereby they can recall Ryan 'at any time'! ....that's just pants! Of course this would be pointless as they wouldn't be able to register him until January anyway.
  15. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9975134/inverness-sign-miles-storey-and-tobi-sho-silva-on-loan Miles storey - England u19 striker and fellow front man Silva in on loan till January.
  16. Let's face it, a buying club will always try and get the best deal for themselves. It's an opening bid, but it then puts the ball in our court as to whether the offer is acceptable or not. We have options. Accept. Negotiate or rejec.
  17. We ARE only a small club. A nationally renowned club but with a regular fan base of around 2500 and a small budget we are undoubtedly a small club. 18. Folk forget that we tried to sign Ofere, JJ Hooper was on trial. Others have been mentioned. I'm sure others went for. According to Hughes in the above interview (quoted in OP) we had one arranged for last Monday but were let down. It's not like the club haven't been actively trying.
  19. We've got pretty much a whole team out. Any team in the league would struggle with that. Missing both first choice centre halves who have been mainstays for 2-3 years. We're also lacking goals. Hughes has admitted this. He's trying hard to rectify this. The injuries are outwith our control. The missing striker is a problem that a process of rectifying is ongoing. If Arsenal and United can't identify one for £50m though then it's fair to say it's not easy. Aside from these issues which have impacted our form then I don't see much wrong. A couple of wins and we could be back in the top half mix. The international break will hopefully allow for injured players to return. Until then, I think positivity is the best solution.
  20. No. Just No. Already joined hibs. So thats irrelevant. As for Daly, Hibs offered him a deal also apparently but he had already said that he'd sign for Raith and wanted to stick to his word. Fair enough. El-Bakhtaoui looks (sounds being more accurate having never seen him play) a prospect but it would still be debatable as to whether he'd be able to go straight in scoring goals. Which is what we need. Someone that's going to provide goals from the off, directly or otherwise. And that seems to be what Yogi is struggling to identify.
  21. Ok ok, I lured you in. Things right now are pretty bad. We've got a whole team out, are struggling to score, our defence is makeshift at best and we've got just 2 points, sitting joint bottom on account of less goals conceded. But look at the table. 2 wins and we'd be up in the top half and all would be seemingly rosey. We're not cut adrift and we've barely started. It would not be the first time we've had a bad start. Just be patient. See where we are in a week. Maybe we'll have a new striker. Players will come back from injury over the international break. Stop being so darn negative. https://youtu.be/EiUWAJswAho/ Hughes post match interview from around 4 minutes 10 "that's where we need the supporters. We need a hand" Get behind the team when they need us most. Don't be a fair weather fan.
  22. Well we're never going to get Mr Right as they'd cost a bomb. Ideally the boy would be strong athletic, with pace, around 6ft tall and likes to play off the shoulder. Oh and can score goals.
  23. Well no wonder you felt short changed. You left early. Silly!
  24. What makes you so sure no bids have been made ? Our club seldom conducts it's business in public. Well Hughes as good as said there's a new club linked every week but nothing concrete has been made. That's not to say clubs haven't sounded up his agent etc. Most deals have a lot of behind the scenes to-ing and fro-ing long before an official bid is made.
