  1. Disappointed, was hoping to attend but me and my mate can't make the Sunday. Probably won't even get to catch it on the TV. Every time we draw one of the Edinburgh teams we get an odd date or kick off time. So irritating.
  2. Celtic vs ICT team news: 20/2/2016 Club captain Richie Foran (calf) remains out while Alex Fisher (ankle), Josh Meekings and James Vincent (both knee) are unlikely to return for the Parkhead encounter. Long-term absentee Aaron Doran (knee) is still out but goalkeeper Dean Brill is closing in on a return from his knee injury. Inverness (from): OF Williams, Raven, Warren, Devine, Tremarco, Tansey, D Williams, Draper, Polworth, Storey, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Vigurs, Sutherland, Roberts, Ferguson, Wedderburn, Hughes, R Williams, Brown, Esson. I asked for this thread to help CTO users keep track of the mounting injury list at the start of the season and the confusion it caused. The information is out there. I cross reference a few sites to check the information matches up. Admittedly I could be more regular with updates. Admittedly it would be preferable to get it from the official site and straight from the club itself. They only ever seem to make new signing/contract extension team news on there though. Anyway I hope this thread helps.
  3. Always wondered why few teams in Scotland have looked into hybrid pitches like they have now at Murrayfield and Arsenal, City, United, Liverpool, Everton, Leicester. From what I gather only Rangers and Hibs use it up here. "Desso GrassMaster is a sportsplaying field surface composed of naturalgrass combined with artificial fibres. The artificial grass fibres are injected 20 centimetres (7.9 in) deep, and cover about 3% of the surface. While the grass is growing, the roots intertwine with the artificial fibres. The designers claim this anchors the field to create a solid, even structure with good drainage and 'playing comfort'." The artificial turf injection shortens the recovery time for the grass. And it also makes it more durable. You'd think that this might be worth looking into in a league where many teams struggle to maintain their pitch over a long winter (usually Motherwell)
  4. Team news for ICT v Aberdeen - Monday 15/2/16. Reported that Inverness club captain Richie Foran looks to be out for the season after tearing a calf muscle. Alex Fisher (ankle), Josh Meekings and James Vincent (both knee) also remain on the sidelines. Dean Brill is still not ready to be considered as he continues his rehabilitation from a long-term knee injury while Aaron Doran (knee) is further away from fitness. Inverness (from): OF Williams, Raven, Warren, Devine, Tremarco, Tansey, D Williams, Draper, Polworth, Storey, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Vigurs, Sutherland, Roberts, Ferguson, Wedderburn, Hughes, R Williams, Brown, Esson. Last 5 league form: D W W L D.
  5. "Inverness have new midfielders Liam Hughes and Ryan Williams in their squad. Alex Fisher (ankle), Josh Meekings and James Vincent (both knee) remain out, as are long-term absentees Dean Brill and Aaron Doran (both knee)." From BBC.
  6. Think you'll find that's a flare and I think you'll find like this one, many have smoke. Sometimes white, sometimes the intensity of the light adding colour. Either way they both burn at high temperatures and are not safe. As for the question about whether ICT fans have had them... Irrelevant. It's a general point. Basically about just because they do it in Europe, doesn't mean we have to copy them in Scotland. One thing I'd like to see come in from Europe is the introduction of safe standing areas. Something that would both add to the atmosphere and not infringe on others.
  7. Setting of a flare is regarded as being "passionate" now is It? Maybe the bright sparks who throw coins are just showing passion. I'm not that old. I enjoy having a sing, jumping up and down, shouting, chanting. Like the drums etc. And true maybe you can move away from someone wielding a flare. - All well and good until he decides to throw it. Or panics because the stewards pick him out and launch it. Oh what's that, he's not the quarter back he imagines himself to be and has a pathetic attempt. It scones you in the eye. (no worries specsavers sponsor the refs so they'll do you a deal on glass replacements). Of course it's no bother because the lads were just having a laugh and enhancing the fan "culture" with their passion. Because them in Europe do it, so we have to copy them! Jeez.
  8. Usually there's a new thread detailing any new signings. Just thought I'd give a little bio seeing as I knew little about him. Had a little look. Though as soon as I saw the results I didn't bother reading the match reports and who'd played. It was only when I saw he'd been injured that I realised we had a new boy as there wasn't really much of an an announcement elsewhere. I think you'll find that my post also had up to date information of his injury status at the time.
  9. A new signing from Torquay. (The weather will be a shock to the system) standing at 6'3 and 25 years old from Westminster, England. Scored 7 in 22 for them last season. He's got plenty of experience around Europe in Belgium and Spains lower leagues. Has 70 goals in 164 senior appearances over the course of his career so far. So has goals in him but this is the highest level he's ever been at. Will wear the number 18 shirt. Signed till end of season with option for another year. Picked up an injury to his ankle tonight. Hopefully not too serious. https://youtu.be/P0R5TSToL18
  10. As far as I'm concerned anyone caught with flares at a football game should be convicted with arson, discharge and in possession of a dangerous weapon in a public place and intent to cause harm. Ruin their lives like they could so easily ruin someone else's. The temperature of flares can reach thousands of degrees Celsius. If that hits your face it could easily scar you for life. Blind and cause other severe disfigurement or in the worst case death. A banning order goes no where near far enough. If your fans are so sh*t they can't create atmosphere without pyrotechnics then perhaps it's time that you just stopped bothering. As for smoke bombs, they can probably be used safely. But are they really needed?
  11. Even Fergie questioned players out injured a lot with no obvious injury. Vidic his captain and Hargreaves being 2 off the top off my head. If the player is genuinely injured then fine, but it's the line between carrying a niggle and being able to play or opting out. It's rare that a player is going to be 100%. They all carry knocks and strains, aches and pains. Sometimes it's about the mental barrier as much as anything. When a team is winning and doing well no one wants to miss out as a week out because they might not get back in the side. Yet if it's a bit of a tricky year it's easier to hide behind a niggle.
  12. There's no new information on Meekings. He'll be out until the start of February based on previous information. But I do have information on new signing Alex Fisher. He's off to hospital for an x-ray...
  13. We signed Alex Fisher from Torquay on the 9th. 6'3 striker. I only know this because it says in the match report he went off injured and Hughes says he's off for an x-ray.
  14. Yeah a lot of smaller media outlets get their info from the Beeb and sky. And Beeb get it from opta. It wasn't a dig at the BBC as such. Just that a major main media outlet has only Draper as having been booked yet it's the booking Devine has accrued that see him banned. There is the possibility that one of Drapers 6 bookings is for a lesser point offence such as obstruction of a free kick or a sporting conduct offence which would mean he's only on 17 points despite having 6 yellows. The whole points system is nonsense as far as I'm concerned. A yellow is a yellow. It should count as the same. The only difference being with reds by where the offence has went over and beyond a standard ban. Anyway. Draper is not suspended. I don't know why, but he's not. Once that changes I'll include it if needs be on the next game team news.
  15. I'd be very happy with Stokes. On paper he is a goal getter. Of course he's had his controversy. That's pretty much part n parcel of being a striker who plays for both hibs and Celtic. And being out of the team means he might be initially rusty. But if Yogi can get his head screwed on right he could bang in those dozen goals that get us in a European spot and a long cup run. We've often been a good club (and area) for players who have maybe lost their way to regroup and refocus and get their form back. If Stokes can get his form back here then it puts him in the shop window and helps us score goals. Mutually beneficial.
  16. Don't imagine Mutumbo will ever be the sort to "stick it in the net" at least not on a regular basis. However with his running power he may create a few more. I only think a development fee is required should Swindon offer a new deal of equal or greater to his current and Storey declines it. Given the fact he's been continuously loaned out and never really used by Swindon its unlikely that any such fee would be very high.
  17. Stirling Albion v Inverness CT. Team news 8/1/16 Tremarco serves his ban following his red card in last season's final, while manager John Hughes believes he could struggle to name five substitutes as he has concerns over Jordan Roberts (knock) and Josh Meekings (knee) as well as other unnamed players. Long-term absentees Aaron Doran, Richie Foran and Dean Brill remain out with knee injuries while Tobi Sho-Silva has returned to Charlton following his loan spell. Inverness (from): OF Williams, Raven, Warren, Devine, Wedderburn, Tansey, D Williams, Draper, Horner, Polworth, Storey, Vincent, Mbuyi-Mutombo, Brown, Vigurs, Sutherland, Ferguson, Roberts, Meekings, Macrae, Lopez, Esson. Note: Devine is available though his league suspension is active from tomorrow. (9/1/16). There is no new suspensions listed on the new suspensions PDF from the SFA. Therefore Draper hasn't reached the threshold. His booking listed against Aberdeen on BBC must have solely been for Devine and the Beeb have it wrong. I presume.
  18. Getting a bit off topic guys. Trying to keep this free for info on injuries and suspensions. (availability) Preferably I'll be able to keep it free from injuries and suspensions as well.
  19. Partick fans essentially asking if they can pay with Irn Bru bottles as they've tons of ginger glass kicking about now that there's no 20p refund...
  20. I'm hoping that we can retain a nucleus. Despite in recent years always seeming to have most of the team out of contract we have done fairly well in keeping players. Unfortunately stars will always move on if they have bigger or richer clubs sniffing around. Getting the likes of Polworth on a 2 year extension needs to be prioritised.
  21. He shouldn't be. Not according to the last SFA suspension list even though according to every recent match report he's been booked in 2 (Aberdeen and Hamilton) But I'm trying to work out where Devines has come from that was listed. Because he's not been booked since before the celtic game seemingly. According to match reports. So any he had coming should surely have been served already if at all. Yet he's due a suspension from the 9th. A cup suspension perhaps? Ooh the suspense!
  22. Might be Draper at the back with Warren for the Killie game and then Devine will come back in when Draper sits out his suspension. If Meekings is still unavailable.
  23. Never see where Tansey shoots from?!
  24. Bit harsh listing Vigurs and Wedderburn amongst the list of underachievers. Wedderburn has been in and out the team. He's still adjusting to the level as well. Jury is out. Vigurs hasn't been fully fit but he signed for us late on. He's not been on the top of his game but has still played his part in getting a few results. I feel that he'll be an important player in the 2nd half of the season and earn a new deal. Silva has done nothing aside from simulation against Hearts. End the loan. Mutumbo looks good when he's got the ball and running full pelt but his final ball, be it pass, cross or shot is at times diabolical. It's not surprising that he has such a poor career goal record. He might improve. Worth keeping until the end of the season maybe. Lopez can leave. Sooner the better. Not cut out for the SPL. What's Dani Sanchez up to these days? Roberts... Well he looked good in pre season. But he's no use sitting in the treatment room. Hopefully he can get fit and show us all what earned him a deal in the summer. Keeping Storey in some capacity should be top priority. If we can get rid of Lopez and Silva. Even Mutumbo. Then a new front man would be the priority. I'd be wary about signing a winger permanently with both Doran and Roberts to return. Might find ourselves overloaded.
