  1. But he persuaded them to sign for ICT....and seems to be getting the best out of them both, compared to their previous clubs. Counts as a success to me ...
  2. Jim Spence described the Championship next season as a 'Bear Pit', which sums it up perfectly! Only one part time club (Alloa), I think this season (not sure about Ayr), both will be stronger than Brechin & , possibly, Dumbarton. I think we'd have been screwed if it had been this season we went down! I could see Partick & County struggling at 1st - how many of their players, financial considerations aside, would actually fancy playing in the Championship? More County I'm thinking of here...can see various teams kicking them about on the park....
  3. Think last season there was more of a need to put together some sort of a squad quickly....bound to get a few lumps of coal, along with a diamond! Robbo also unearthed Coll Donaldson & Nathan Austin....also, Eldson, Cooper & Zschusschen are no longer there...not tied up on long contracts (like Scott Boden was!).

It's not just me that liked the Vanilla top then ...!

Will go down and have a look...just hope it isn't a red, white & blue home top again - would be nice to get a home top, for once!

How about 'Dirty Cream'? Or 'Ripe Brie'....??
  7. Players who have something to prove after coming back from injury (particularly those who have been released by their clubs) can be a great asset, as they feel that they have something to prove...Craig Dargo fell into this category, as did Mr Vigurs (this time around)...arguably, you could include Aaron Doran too (I'm sure he would have had a move away by now, if he hadn't been injured). Give the guy a chance - it's potentially a way of signing players that we may not otherwise be able to afford.

I'm probably in minority of 1 here, but I liked the Vanilla away top we had in season 16/17... Definetly agree that the black away top from 08/09 was superb - the anniversary one with the fans names on it (mine included) is my 'lucky cup top'!
  9. Reminds me of when we signed Craig Dargo, when Killie let him go after prolonged injury issues.
  10. Sounds like exactly the type of player we need - someone who is young & motivated.

My prediction for next season? That Vigurs will be man of the match at the next derby game in Dinge-Wall...no matter how he plays. I can only imagine the abuse he will get as well...!
  12. In the spirit of looking backwards....let's give Boden another chance....?

We should focus on welcoming Tom Walsh & Angus Beith - 2 young midfielders - to the club & not get ourselves worked up about Vigurs leaving.. Vigurs is gone - all the best, Iain & hope we're back in the top flight before you are...

Couldn't agree more - those who have spent the last couple of seasons hurling abuse at Vigurs must be feeling proud now...who could blame him for not staying! Yes, I'm hacked off that he's going over the bridge...but I don't blame him for doing so. He is getting a 3yr deal, on (probably) more cash & he doesn't have to move away - it's a no brainer for him! Vigurs is the beneficiary of Uncle Roy's endless desire to get one over on us!!

When wearing our 1st premier league top in Aberdeen once, I was asked if I was a Rangers fan! Luckily it was a friendly old boy, but could have been nasty..... In fairness, I was wearing a jacket over the top which obscured the red sleeves...
  16. I get where Robbo is coming from, in terms of foootball in the Highlands, but get where you're coming from too...
  17. Billy McKay now relegated 4 seasons in a row too...
  18. It's a double edged sword, that one...I totally agree that it's bad for Highland football for us not to have representation in the Premier League...a lot of Central Belt pundits seem to think Inverness & Dingwall is somewhere North of the Artic Circle! It made me laugh when various managers moaned about the 'long trip North'...I understand Robbo wanting County to stay up (even if I don't entirely agree). Good point also about not wanting Inverness kids aspiring to play 'across the bridge' too. However....it will be good to have the Highland Derbies back & it's karma for the slagging we had to put up withblast season! Never mind, sure Uncle Roy will open his seemingly limitless cheque book to win promotion... Ideal scenario next season...we win the league & County make the play offs...!

We've had several! Stripes do help, though...

I quite like the home Palace top - it would be ideal, just swap the yellow for black!

If there is a new kit, lets NOT have red, white & blue on the home strip, please!! Too reminiscent of a certain dysfynctional club from Govan for my liking... The stripes are good though...just have black, instead of white (like our home top from a few seasons ago, looked good with red, blue & black stripes). By all means, have white on the away top....just not the home one! By the way, having bought a Macron Scotland Rugby top, their sizing is on a par with Errea.....think Italians must be the skinniest people on Earth!
  22. Can't say whether binning McIntyre was right (it was, according to a County fan at work), but they definetly shouldn't have appointed Coyle....
  23. Was this not Brian Rice's last season on his contract? Would think DP provably is retiring, but BR actually seems to be a decent & well respected coach. We (myself included) gave him plenty flack when he was RFs assistant as to what he actually did, unfairly, it would seem. Here's a thought....Esson moving into that role? Not sure, personally, but he's certainly been in charge of the Youth team (the players, that is ).... Just to be clear, I'm not saying this is necessarily a good (or even likely) idea, just thinking out loud!
  24. Finances aside, at least Robbo will have a full close season to add to the squad, as opposed to the farcical situation last summer....and a much more settled squad to boot. Not sure he needs to add too much - more important to try & retain the decent players we have already, also pruning the squad of bit part players. A good start has been made already with this...
  25. Not sure how practical an idea this is, but it's worth throwing it in there...CRC Evans, anyone? Worth asking the question - the only daft question is the one that doesn't get asked....
