Results and Points update for this game is expected to be on this message board no later than: 0800 Sun 05. 3. I thought it was a good game as pre-season friendlies go. I was please to see ICT playing good passing football. The big hoof wasn't there and this made for a better game. I'd agree that we rode our luck in the early stages and were let off with the pen'. Our first strike at goal was our pen'. Having scored that we seemed to take charge but I'd say Coventry had the better of the first half. Scored an early second seemed to kill off Coventry but their tails went up for a short while when they pulled one back. An enjoyable game but a shame about the Coventry One!!
  4. Aye, chatted to Chris myself. What a nice lad he is. He won't make the start and, as CC says above, he's almost there and looking forward to putting on the ICT shirt again.
  5. I think this whole racism business has got way out of hand. Most of it is just 'playground' stuff and in many cases a 'non event'.
  6. What an excellent web site. Well done to our boys anyway.
  7. I think its a lovely name :love02: but it will always be Victoria Park to me. Hope they don't get themseleves into a 'Livingston' situation wereby they change the name every five minutes.
  8. 9. Hi gang...there are no significant changes to the rules for the 2012/13 season. Rules and Instructions for playing the Nutters Prediction League (NPL) for the 2012/13 Season How to Play - General Information To take part in the NPL all you have to do is simply predict the following for all First Team Inverness Caledonian Thistle (ICT) matches:- The Half Time (HT) score. The Full Time (FT) score. The scorer of the First goal for ICT. The scorer of the first goal for the opposition and Guess the number in the crowd for the game. There is no need to register for this game. Just enter your prediction on the Gringo’s NPL Board on the forum before the match kicks off. Each game will be posted on the board approx’ two weeks before the match kicks off (if I remember!). ‘ Post your prediction in the following format:- HT: FT: 1st Scorer ICT: 1st Scorer Opp: Crowd: (Just copy and paste the above format onto the board and add your predictions) For Example:- Gringo HT: 0-0 FT: 2-1 1st Scorer ICT: Anybody 1st Scorer Opp: Bonehead Crowd: 2232 Important To avoid losing points, please use the same 'username' throughout the contest. The Rules / Scoring system All predictions should be posted before kick off, it is up to you to check k.o. times and post accordingly No excuses! ALL entries posted after k.o. (even 1 sec over) will NOT be accepted. Very often the match thread will be automatically locked at the scheduled kick off time regardless of whether the match has physically kicked off or not so please post early to avoid disappointment. Each game will be advertised on the Gringo's NPL board approx' two weeks or so before the game. These games will remain on the board throughout the season and, where possible, will be locked after kick off or some other time convenient to me. H-T and F-T Correct Scores You will be awarded 1 pt for each correct score (1-0) and result (h, a or d) + a bonus of 2pts for an all correct prediction. I.E If you predict a 1-0 score and the actual score is 2-0 you will be awarded 1 pt for the 'home' result and 1pt for the '0' score. If the score was 1-0 you would get 1pt for the '1', 1pt for the '0' and 1pt for the 'home' result plus a bonus of 2pts for an all correct answer giving you a max 5pts. (Sounds complicated but it will become as clear as mud as the game progresses). So, basically, a correct score+result is worth 5 points. Please note that, unless you state otherwise in your prediction, the first score you give will always be regarded as the 'home' team. First Scorer ICT/ Opposition /Use of Surnames You will be awarded 2pts for a correct answer. OG's do count but only if you state this at the time and for the correct team. Please be aware of teams who have the same players surname in the line up so please state clearly which player you have selected by using their first name(s). Failure to clarify this WILL result in a loss of points. Crowd You will be awarded 10 pts if you are bang on and 5pts if you are no more than 100 out over or under. The crowd figure will be determined by those displayed on CeeFax. If for some reason CeeFax fail to post their updates in reasonable time, the BBC Football web site will be used or any other alternative recognized web site. If there are no correct predictions (10 pointers) for the crowd then the nearest entrant to the actual figure will be awarded TWO bonus points. If there is a tie for this honor all involved will receive the two points. The JOKER For 2012/13 please refer to the separate thread regarding your JOKER entitlement. Using a Joker will DOUBLE your points tally for that game. Only one joker per game can be used. Use them wisely on games you are very confident on getting loads of points. The Joker CAN be used on any Bonus Point games but any Bonus Points won (including the Crowd bonus) will NOT be doubled. To use your Joker simply add **JOKER** at the end of your prediction. The winner of the 2012/13 NPL will be able to use three jokers the following season. Those finishing in the next nine positions will qualify for two Jokers and all others will only get one. Cup Matches Cup matches will be based on 90 mins only. Extra time does not count. There will be no extra points awarded for extra-time scores / pens etc. Any games played on a neutral ground the home team will be notified on the appropriate game thread. Bonus points From time to time I will select a match where bonus points will be available. All bonus point matches and details of how to win these points will be advertised on the specific thread. Please look out for them as they could appear at any time. Abandoned / Postponed Matches Abandoned and Postponed matches will be VOID and all entries will be cancelled. They will NOT be carried over for the re-arranged fixture. They will also be deleted from the message board. Notes on 1st scorer A point was raised about naming a first scorer after predicting a '0' scoreline. It was suggested that the entrant should put 'None' or No Scorer in the first scorer section and be awarded the 2pts. As far as I am concerned if there isn’t a goal there cannot be a 'first scorer'. I have no problem with entrants naming a 'first scorer' and predicting a '0' scoreline. It will be accepted. (Affectionately known as Gringo’s Law) Posting for other players / Multiple Postings You can post a prediction on behalf of another entrant (with their permission!) but please specify clearly who the prediction is for. Posting a series of predictions is also permitted but please make sure all the entrants names are on the respective entries. Notes on Correcting your Prediction Corrections to your prediction(s) can me made prior to kick-off by either using the edit facility on the original post or, alternatively, just re-post the whole prediction. The later prediction is always used when the NPL spreadsheet is compiled. Scores and Updates Results and Tables from completed Games will be posted as soon as possible after each game. As I am the only person running the NPL, delays to updates can be expected due to holidays and going to watch ICT etc. As a general rule I will attempt to get the update on the NPL Board no later than two hours after the match. An expected update time will be advised on the respective Game Thread. Championship Tie In the event of a tie for first place, positions will be decided by the amount of correct scores (HT/FT 5 pointers) you have got, if there is still a tie after that the amount of correct scorers will be used. If it is still tied after that then I will use the average points system. This system will also be used to determine the 'Euro' positions for the benefit of the Joker quota for the following season. Prize The winner will receive (eventually) a small-engraved trophy, which can gather the dust whilst sat on top of the telly. As the winner of the NPL you are also entitled to bragging rights throughout the close season. The top ten positions will be regarded as qualifying for Europe and will be inscribed on the NPL Honors list.
  10. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otland-18915151 That's it folks. No more going out in the evenings to enjoy yourselves. Best stick to the lemonade during evening matches too. Goodness knows how you're going to get home over the Christmas period too. We have it drummed into us throughout the year not to drink and drive (quite rightly) and to use public transport...can't even do that now. I suspect the drink / drive rate will now increase.
  11. Only three goals in the second half??? shocking. Butcher out. Thanks for updates....you're a star.
  12. We'll have three Cov fans in the car but I propose we chuck them out at the border...
  13. I'm up for running this little competition again this season and, as defending champion, have everything to lose I also propose that where we have a situation of having lots of mid-week fixtures after postponements etc we should run the contest. I know some of you only check in to this competition towards to end of the week and don't want anyone to be deducted 10 points if they didn't know the competition was being run. So, take this as a heads up and check the Betting Forum when there are mid-week fixtures about. So, who's up the battle of wits again? I was thinking about restricting you all on how many times you can 'bet' on Rangers Same rules apply, which were like this:- No changes from last season but posted again here to refresh the old grey matter. - Everybody starts with 200 points - Everybody must select one team to place their 10 point wager on from the SFL each week using the posted coupon, with all bets being settled as they would be in the bookies (ie. lose -10 points win +whatever your profit would've been) - All bets must be posted before the advertised k.o time. - Failure to pick a team would result in a loss of 10 points. However you may pick your side before the odds are posted if you know in advance you wont be able to get on the website. - During the winter, postponed selections would result in a return of your 10 point stake, however you are allowed to change your selection as long as you do so pre the deadline. - In the event of there being less than 6 games going ahead in a single round of games, all bets would be void and points refunded. 17/08/12 We have been offered a prize for this years competition by the Club. The winner of the 2012/13 NAPS Competition will receive TWO Boardroom Hospitality tickets:- "....it would be good to offer our own fans the chance to be entertained in our Board Room...It may add a bit of spice to the competition also, not that I am sure that is required as there are also the bragging rights which will no doubt be priceless on their own...The day out would be our last home game (may be difficult if won by the Marchers but we could sort that nearer the time) 2 for the Board Room with food (soup sandwiches etc.) and drinks plus 2 seats in the Directors area"
  14. Wear it underneath yer pants and fart a lot
  15. The SPL will soon knock that idea out of them...

    Vale Game

Only 6-0!!! It was 10-2 last time we had a friendly there. Butcher out
  17. Hi Beduth We have a thread on this already. Check out The shop (porta cabin) should be open before and after the game. There were a limited number of supporters badges a few years ago but I'm not sure if they are available anymore. Check out the shop on the day. Gringo
  18. An icon of my youth...thanks for everything Jon. R.I.P
  19. Have the club every tried to tackle the tourist market? Maybe leaflets about the SPL club could be displayed at the Tourist Information centre and details of forthcoming matches could also be displayed in pubs and restaurants. B&B's could also be targeted. Not sure of publications costs mind but has ever been attempted?
  20. Not bought a home top for a while and was going to do so this season. The 'stripes', if you can call them that, look like the efforts of a malfunctioning sewing machine. I may reconsider when I see it up close, but, first impressions. Yak!
  21. The Rajha is probably the best Indian in the city. Don't be tempted by the one that overlooks the river though
  22. Johndo....you really don't really want a Coventry burd do you?? I'm sure he (or she!!) comes in peace, these Coventry lot arn't that bad you know
  23. Good shout that re fixtures. I did notice that when Club12 was entered and smelt a rat when there were no Club12 and Tic home games on the same day.
  24. My immediate though was....that's us safe for another season but I think its the right discission based upon 'the rules' as I understand them.
  25. I've met Kenny on a couple of occasions and in my opinion you'd have to go a long way to find a more dedicated supporter of ICT.
