As a side note to all of this, I have it from a very reliable source that Chalmers was quite ill on the day of the game and had to be given an injection to prevent "all out two exits no waiting" scenario.  This would explain why he was out on his feet for the second half.  You can look at it two ways - should he have been played?  BUT for me, it shows that despite what some think on here, we genuinely do have players who are prepared to play through injury and illness for the cause and maybe if the club made fans aware of this (post match so as not to give the opposition any intel), would the fans show a bit more respect?  Thinking of the other week where Poly and a number of others had the flu.

As for White, as Gregor's stats so clearly show, had he not scored in some of our games, draws would have been losses and we would be royally friar tucked by now.

    Onwards....

No doubt we have a good team ethic within the squad.

Thank you for taking the stats as they were meant to be taken.

They point out that despite the criticism White has been integral in getting us into play off position as without his goals we wouldn’t be there.

But TJ obviously sees another side of it ?

It was a leading question which I already knew the answer to and while correctly it's not about one game this thread is.

My point is that I genuinely believe from your answer or part of, you're firmly stuck in the past and for the sake of your enjoyment of watching ICT and posters on this forum you need to get realistic about where we are right now and what this squad of players can achieve. We can all bleat on about the past, winning the Scottish Cup, getting to the League Cup Final, finishing 3rd in the League and getting to Europe but we shouldn't get stuck with it to the point it distorts views of this current squad.

It's like Aberdeen comparing to the Fergie years or Celtic the Jock Stein years or Dundee Utd and the Jim McLean years but it gets them nowhere. Yes nice to reminisce but that's where it should end.

Whether we had of seen the game out or not that was more than a decent performance and for the majority our players individually and collectively played really well. This is what the focus should be on, the good points of the game, how we contained County in the first half, how we moved the ball about, our attacking play and I see nothing from your posts that suggests this.

It's too easy to pick on certain players and by now we all know your thoughts on White, change the record before it gets stuck.

Would I like to see youth given a chance? Yes. Do I think we have enough quality in our youth to sustain it? Honestly no. Do I think throwing them in will be to the detriment of their development? Yes. Why? As we don't have the desired quality around them to help them flourish and progress as players and take the pressure off them

At our level you don't throw youth at a problem and expect them to fix it unless they are outstanding, you give youth the experience of progressing with better players around them who can lead and teach. You like to look back so it should have started at times like when we had Draper, Tansey, Warren and the likes who could lead. Currently I'd only put Tremarco in that bracket which isn't enough.

We can all have a moan and a gripe but seriously, be more realistic and you might just suddenly be surprised for the better.

    Thank you

Replied to our fellow fan Alan Simpson so far better than I have ever done in the past.

However you have put into this post all my  thoughts and frustrations with Alan.

     Very eloquent post

  3. Whatever happens it’s never nice when a player can’t play because of injury.

Feel for the young guy as it would appear he won’t be featuring for us given that his squad number has been given to McCauley.

If we're playing with a similar budget and standard of player than Morton or QoS, then our past achievements don't give us any advantage. They might even be a disadvantage if fans fail to accept the new reality.

    Spot on

In fact there could be an argument that we may even be overachieving considering our playing budget

one thing for sure is the players are giving 109% effort as did the away fans last night too as always

lets hope the same level of vocal support Is heard next Tuesday.

Oh my, we're getting awful hard to please.

We are Caley Thistle, not Barcelona. Some of these guys might be *****, but they are our *****. Instead of the constant negativity, how about we just support the team.

100 % agree with you on this

love the quote they are our ***** ?

Would just love just love it if our ***** could knock County ***** out of the cup

    It's called an opinion Gregor.

I have no problem with opinions although an opinion is not always correct.

Can’t believe you didn’t see any other qualities about  White last night, he battled with their defence last night creating space for the other players around him , laid the ball off well and worked his sock off for the team defending as well as attacking, also got himself into great goal scoring positions to receive a pass which never came .

Well my opinion is I thought he was a warrior last night and had an excellent game.

But maybe we both got it wrong ?

Little point in me saying it, but I thought White's inability to hold the ball up meant it kept coming back at us sooner rather than later.

I thought we should have won the game and fail to see all this doom and gloom that everyone is proclaiming. That should all have been left at the Partick game where we were shocking.

I'm not disappointed, more frustrated at another late concession, but once Coll went off we were up against it.

Great performance from Tommy Tremarco, if we had more with his guts we would be in the next round. Still all to play for and the incentive of going to Tannadice in the next round.

    Lighten up folks, ffs.

There is another one Buster ?

We have squandered more leads this season and gone on to lose or draw more often than any other senior team in the United Kingdom.

We are, more often than not, good enough to take the lead against almost anyone. However, until we become astute enough to hold onto those leads we will make no progress whatsoever..

Every single fan can see where we are going wrong. Time to get it sorted while we still have a chance of promotion and making progress in the cup.

Been saying this for week KM the defence needs to be tighter.

With the exception of Mr Muscle (and even that was only once), there's been nothing negative about White on this thread.  It seems that you are so keen to defend your brother/son/client that you are starting to see stuff that's not there.

If you don’t think White receives a lot criticism on here compared to other players then maybe a wee visit to spec savers is in order ?

So don’t think I’m seeing stuff that’s not there mate.

Cannot believe we continue to play one way the long ball in the general direction of Jordan White. Every time we pumped it forward we just gave them possession to come at us again. We need some mobility up front that can stretch a defence we are so predictable. How JR thought offloading Oakley was good business beats me.

    There you go Buster

  11. Have to say thought White was excellent last night and creates space for Doran and  Walsh.

However These two players need to play the bigman in at least a couple of times last night,  as while at game was listening to radio Scotland coverage Willie Miller said that Walsh lacked composure when he lashed ball over bar ,if he had looked up and squared it to White it was a tap in. He said White as at back post screaming for it. Also commentator said he had very little service all night.

The bigman puts in some shift and is constantly helping going back to help out the defence every corner and free kick. Something that seems overlooked by some fans.

Really can’t understand the constant negativity he gets from some on here and on social media.

Thought Ridgers Tremarco were excellent all night but in all honesty probably cost us the game by being worried about the potential offside decision instead of being professional and playing to the whistle.

Last night was a battle and we as a team gave as much as we got but probably a draw was Adair result overall but was totally gutted when that late goal went in.

Listened to Michael Stewart when returned home and agree with his summing up , Inverness are very good in attacking sense but leave themselves wide open in defence.

On to next Tuesday now and hopefully our first win over County for a while.

Seemed to me that having the extra man in midfield was a masterstroke by Robbo because County were not getting service to Gardyne or McKay. Is that something new or does he do that in all games because, if not, then he certainly should because it worked at least for 45 minutes.

For me, Tremarco was man of the match because he was excellent tonight, Ridgers handling was great plus he made a great save just before half time.

I just wish we could hold on to a bloody lead because it's becoming ridiculous now!

    Couldn’t agree more.

On Saturday, Ridgers indicated he was almost fit when I saw him in the shop before the game. Tremarco should be fine as McHattie was there as cover. Hopefully Coll is match fit.

I'm in London on Monday night, so relying on the BBC text commentary to make me enjoy the evening!

  14. Whatever anyone thinks about Caleyaway fans they definitely get behind the team so much better than the home fans.

100 % agree what Robbo was saying , not that he just blamed the home fans but said it was different to what the team gets on the road .

I have no problem with shouts of frustration , it’s mainly the quietness and lack of any atmosphere that’s the problem.

As for the team being rubbish , then why are we top of the away league but 8th in the home league that’s the point Robbo was trying to get across , of course it’s not all down to the fans at home , he is just looking for answers and lack of home support contrasted to loud vocal support may be part of the answer.

Well done to George on his two goals with Hamilton

Stats are great for him at Hamilton

A bit harsh don't you think?   You obviously dont like him or his views -  but I dont think that gives you the right to tell him to leave the forum.

Im sure this is what a  forum is  all about - a salad bowl of mixed opinions , enriched with debates, arguments and even agreements- so why would you want Alan to leave the forum or anybody else for that matter just because you dont agree with them. Im sure he has his own opinion of your stats but I havent seen him ask you to leave the forum yet.

If you read all the posts on here I think you will be fully aware that many dont attend games but does that mean they cannot contribute.

Anyway  back on topic we've brought in what we could with the resources we have at our disposal and  its probably not enough offer a serious challenge to the title  but the playoffs are well within our reach.

So it’s all ok for him to be so critical to our players without going to games, but a couple of wee digs back to him is seen as harsh

    nah don’t think so

Decent player, very patchy injury record...I don't care if the stats say otherwise but the plastic at NDP will not do him any favours in that respect.

Plastic pitches have no place on our top league and maybe should be banned in championship too so I totally ageee with you.
