My piece for STV on ICT's transfer window
Excellent points Ross. The only thing I'd say is that I dont think we can afford to put any of our youngsters out on loan We have a very small squad so really need them available for cover, especially when games start to come two a week as is usually the case around feb and march.

Caledonian Stadium will look second best
Naw.... twenty foot's high enough to stop the dingwall skanks from getting a free look from the bridge

Celtic in the north stand?
I think tree is right. This game may well sell over 6000 but in general interest in cup games has died all over. I just wonder if this is a sign of things to come if improvements are not made to make the matchday experience worthwhile. Many ST holders of many clubs will not shell out extra to go to cup games because they feel they are giving enough within the ST price. The game is pricing itself out of existance and the fans are saying enough is enough. But will the powers that be do anything?

A twenty foot high hoarding running the length of the pitch on the west side with a full stand mural painted on it would give aa better effect than a new empty stand

Replay is live! Switched to Wednesday 18th.
Not sure how some folk arrive at the figures they do. First off, is the £83k quoted per team or shared between both? Second, lets assume we can fill 6000 seats. Many of those will be children and concessions. Assume half. Even assuming prices are £10 and £20 then thats a £15 average price x 6000 = £90,000 in gate reciepts. There is unlikely to be any further sponsorship monies. Deduct the costs associated with policing and stewarding, stadium power, staff etc which wont be short of £20k and your left with £70k which the other team get half of. There is a bit of prize monie for getting this far but I would not think we'd even make a profit of much more than £120k for getting this far. Assuming we beat DAFC of course.

St J are a little bit different to us. They never use their end stands at any other time

Celtic in the north stand?
Would never work and from a policing point of view it would never be allowed. Besides there will be a good crowd at it if it happens.

The next penalty
Our last penalty was indeed taken, and scored, by Adam Rooney 20th Nov 2010 v Hibs. ICT win 4-2

Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Dunfermline
Not according to BBC report The game sparked to life on 29 minutes when Gillet was shown a straight red card following a mix-up with Tuffey. Caley Thistle's goalkeeper failed to clear a long ball and Barrowman nipped in before being brought down by Gillet on the edge of the box. Referee Euan Norris gave the Frenchman his marching orders and Hardie's low free-kick was parried by Tuffey for Barrowman to nod home from close range. Yet looking at highlights it clearly is the No 10

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
I dont think anyone is dismissing the opposition here. I believe we will beat them but thats only my belief. As for Dunfermline needing the cash and the win...........I see that going both ways. We also need the cash and the win. We all know what we have to do first but that shouldn't stop us from dreaming of a possible repeat of 2000

The Kiltwalk - a challenge to ICT supporters
Terry wont manage the Speyside one. He'll be too hung over after securing third spot in the league the day before

Gambler Jock's Scotch Cup 5th Round Draw.
The only way that any team will win the SC is to win against any and all teams in their path. If we have the desire and motivation to win this cup then we have to beat anyone. So lets get up and at em. I predict us beating Dunfermline then getting a draw v Celtic at TCS. Going down to Glasgow and winning the replay on FEB 8th 2012 Full draw: Hibernian v Dundee/Kilmarnock Motherwell v Morton St Mirren/Hamilton v Ross County Inverness/Dunfermline v Celtic Ayr v Falkirk Rangers v Dundee Utd Hearts v St Johnstone Aberdeen v Queen of the South

Correct title now up- Matchday Thread: ICT -V- Dunfermline
Damned if they do and damned if they dont. Its not so long ago that Golobart was being slated for being too fancy and trying to play his way out of situations. Now he's slated for clearing the ball as quick as possible. Same with Gillet. Not so long ago since Butcher was being slated for trying to stick with the same players. Now he's slated for trying to slot a very minimul squad together. As for comments about 'loanee mania'. Thats no fault of Butchers. Thats entirely down to budgets. I'm quite sure Terry would love to have the sort of budget where he can bring in the right players on decent deals. Alas! thats not likely to happen at TCS in the near future. Especially with such a dismall crowd for a saturday afternoon home game against a fellow SPL team.- GTWB Productions Present

Very petty and immature Alex I wish the boy well now no matter what happens tomorrow in the cup He is a class act and he probably realises that he will be in the spotlight more if he gets loaned out to a club in England I very much doubt anyone from Wolves would have watched him up here but I stand corrected if I'm wrong We all knew he was a loan signing and that he would probably be leaving this month therefor there is no point greeting about it now I will definitely be keeping an eye on him as his career progresses Dougal The only one that is petty and immature is the person who thinks that is how I intended my post to be understood. Nobody else found it so. As far as I'm concerned David Davis was still an ICT player until sunday. I believed he would feature in the cup game and I had no intention of saying goodbye to the lad until he had actually finished his job for us. Now that David is away I wish him all the best and sincerely hope he is successful wherever he goes and that maybe one day we'll see him in an England shirt. And thanks for all you have done for our club in the short spell you were here.- GTWB Productions Present

Dougal should maybe stop and think before he spouts. The first thing to say is that our end stands are not temporary, contrary to the opinion of some. They are permanent stands of a design, used in many stadia, that could, if so desired, be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere. There is nothing temporary about the tens of thousands of tonnes of concrete thay sit on. The misconception that the structures were temporary came about when we applied for permission to erect temporary scaffolding type stands to allow us to start playing at TCS from the beginning of the promotion season. Secondly, we dont need a fourth stand. Even St Johnstone are going to a three stand stadium. All that County are doing is building the same type of stand as we have, at one ends and extending the other stands to accomodate a few more seats. Superiority is what is displayed on the field of play. Not what the stadia looks like. Perhaps, dougal, if you feel they will be the more superior club with the more superior stadium then you should feck off over the bridge and stop spouting your crap on these forums. They rest of us will take pride in what we have achieved, what we will achieve, where we are and what we have.- David Davis
Some are glad he's gone. Some think he's a big head. Some still favour him and wish him well. Who will think what if he's the one who scores the goal that will keep us in the Scottish cup. Davis has been good for our club and we've been good for his career. Neither owes the other anything. He is being noticed by, and is rated by, Mick McCarthy so has made the decision to put himself somewhere he'll get more exposure. Lets face it the lower leagues doxn south get more tv and newspaper exposure time in a month than the SPL gets in a season. The guys not bigheaded. He's ambitious and sees opportunity for success. I hope he scores for us at the weekend and goes out in a blaze of glory.- Kerrea Gilbert
Then there was yon other that thought he was bigger than ICT.......Tom Aldred hasn't played a competitive match since he chose to walk out on us.......currently on loan at Torquay he has never played all season.- David Davis
I'll save my good luck wishes till after saturday...............I'm sure he'll feature against Dunfermline- Game OFF
What I cant understand is someone at the club informed St Johnstone that the pitch was playable at nine in the morning yet it was unplayable at eleven. What happened with the weather in that couple of hours?- Matchday Thread - Hibernian -V- ICT
