  2. Not this time mate
  3. My understanding is that the planning has been going on for some time now and would have come in for start of next season but that they now believe it could be in place for this one.
  4. You mean you don't believe all these stories that have been attributed to "a Sky insider" or "a Sky source"? No, simply because it wouldnt make business sense. Sky are reported to have around a million subscribers in Scotland. They also have indirect customers who subscribe through cable and freeview. So they rake in up to £100 million a month. They dont want to lose custom.
  5. Apparantly the SFA are becoming so P'd off with the current situation at Copeland Road that they are hreatening to bring forward plans for a total restructuring of the league system. The plan is to have three leagues controlled by SFA and disband the current set up. There is talk that they could have this set up by the start of season. Was discussed on Sportsound this afternoon but I missed the beginning of the programme.
  6. Not from Sky...........invented by the Daily Rubbish
  7. Did Andrew Shinnie not come from something like that??? I thought he came through the Rangers youth system
  8. Would have maybe helped if some detail had been posted. i.e time, venue etc.
  9. There was me thinking there were two teams in Coventry................Coventry City and Coventry Nil. Did they go through an extremely messy merger perchance?
  10. I see County are playing Coventry City at Grant Street on Wed 18th July. Wonder if they are the team we are negotiating with.
  11. As I've stated in other threads I will be turning my back on football therefore I wont be watching any. My view is that if cheating and law breaking are seen to go pretty much unpunished, and if football clubs are prepared to support the lack of punishment, then this game is not worth my support. It is written that the game in Scotland is finished without Rangers. If thats the case then so be it. The founder members of the SPL let it happen. They all tried to buy some form of success and they all have been close to liquidation. If they've now allowed themselves to have to be dependant on TV alone then they have sat back and allowed the game in Scotland to die. As an aside maybe the SPL leaders should be out drumming up business from other TV companies. BBC, ITV, Virgin, ESPN, BT, Eurosport etc. Sky is not the only crowd out there.
  12. Lets put something in perspective here. Rangers Oldco own one share in the SPL. Rangers Oldco want to transfer that share to Newco. The SPL will debate and decide if that share can be transferred. The administrators of Oldco have a right, as the holders of the share, to attend and vote at any meeting of SPL chairmen. Its not about a vacancy. There is no vacancy at present. Its about the transferral of a share.

  18. DUFF AND PHELPS, the administrators of Rangers Football Club, issued the following statement today. Paul Clark, joint administrator, said: "A meeting of creditors was held at Ibrox Stadium today at which creditors voted on a proposal for a Company Voluntary Arrangement issued on May 29, 2012. "Due to a vote against the proposal by the principal creditor, HM Revenue and Customs, the proposal was rejected. "The decision was relayed to shareholders of the company at a subsequent meeting at the stadium. "As a result of that decision, which was known in advance of today's meeting, the consortium led by Charles Green is obliged to buy the club's business and assets and that transaction will be completed imminently. "As announced previously, a liquidator will undertake the liquidation of The Rangers Football Club plc but this process will not begin until the period of administration is brought to an end formally in due course. "The decision of the creditors' meeting has been a major disappointment for Rangers supporters and this was not our preferred outcome as administrators.
  19. The first point I'd make here is this: I do not see myself punishing the club I support by not supporting them if Rangers Newco stay in the SPL. I will not only be walking away from the club I will be walking away from football in Scotland simply because my conscience will not allow me to have any part in supporting a crooked regime. To do otherwise would, in my mind, be aiding and abetting the cheats and taxdodgers of the game. Everyone is talking about loss of revenue and clubs will struggle in a league without Rangers. Wheres the facts and figures. Its all supposition. Sky have never said they'll pull out, nor have they said they'd invoke any clause in contract. Why should they. With over a million customers in Scotland Sky make a lot of money here. They pull out of football and many, many customers will pull the plug on them. No Scottish football on the box and I wont be paying for their package. Loss of gate reciepts? Next season we will likely have one home game against Rangers so we could lose some 3500 ticket sales. A potential maximum loss of 88,000 except it wont be because many of those tickets will be children and concessions. Next season we have two local derbies to look forward to. Ticket sales for them will more than offset the loss from a Rangers visit. A level playing field for everyone with league monies being distributed in a much fairer way would offset the losses to clubs like us. A more realistic chance of finishing a season on top of the league would offset the losses. But how much the loss if people with the same principals as myself decide to forsake football. For every 100 that stay away thats a potential loss of income of £22,000 or more. Having watched and read as things unfold I believe many more than that will stay away if Newco are permitted into the SPL
