  1. Murray may not have one a 'slam' but he's gotten further than any other Brit in recent years. Dont see him winning this time either. He has to come up against, possibly, the best tennis player ever in Nadal to reach the final.
  2. The current situation is not of Butchers making. This club has no money. We cant afford to be in this league. When we came into the SPL it was reported that we'd need an average gate of 4500 to break even. Gates have dropped and costs have gone up since then. The dream that full stadiums would happen on a regular basis did not come to fruition so we are skint.
  3. What is a good offer by ICT standards. Press reported during the week that £2000 a week was the Aberdire offer.
  4. Johndo you need a holiday. All I read into starchiefs post is all the various comments made by many posters on here since Butcher took over.
  5. Isn't it rather strange that Celtic and Rangers are going to be sheduled to play at home on that date. Must be the first time in the history of the SPL that the police have allowed such a thing.
  6. How would you suggest subsidising that gamble? Overdraft? Dont pay the taxman? Chuck the bills in the bottom drawer? Administration? CVA? Liquidation? Newco?
  7. While I would also like to see longer contracts being handed out I think we have to accept that with the current financial state of Scottish football coupled with the wider economic situation that we will not be seeing any players (unless they have a proven track record) being offered longer deals. Having said that I cannot see us being able to afford any players with a proven track record, so I recon it will be one year deals for the time being. On the topic of new faces and having no money, I think that Rangers should be made to give us one of their young players in place of the £40,000 they owe us... seems fair. No thanks..........some of us still remember the one they gave us a few years ago.
  8. Suppose I'll need to think about changing my signature
  9. story here: http://ictfc.com/new...are-on-the-way- This season really is a make or break season for us IMO and we really need to assemble a squad capable of firstly remaining in the SPL but also hopefully challenging for mid-table. Talking to players under contract?? Think league of Ireland is coming into mid season transfer window. Window opens tomorrow in Kenya and I think France season finishes soon. I suppose also that some players may be contracted in UK till end August.
  10. Gavin comes back at end June so why leave him out?
  11. Butcher has stated that he has players in mind but is giving those being offered deals at the club the chance to respond. If that is the case then I expect we will see things happening from now on in.
  12. For me worrying doesnt start till the first game of the season. Close season is normally for bitching and banter. Sadly this close season seems to be for negativity.
  13. The one for tougher rules that will mean rangers will be deducted a third of the points they earned this season next season? Only if they are still in administration at the start of next season. That wont happen though because they will not still be in admin. There's more liklihood of them being a Newco allowed into SPL without penalty.
  14. What we all have to remember, when blaming Butcher for anything and evrything, is that its the youth coaches who recommend any promotions. They are the people who see, not only the players ability but his attitude. An example......Ian Vigurs.....Excellent player with delusions of granduer. Trust me I know how he has portraid himself and all he has said about where he should be playing. Same guy, if w believed all that he spouts, has one again signed for County. quote..."my Ian is so good he has asked me if I could live abroad". Please dont question the source......suffice to say his bideein is from Perth. That attitude is probably why Vigurs was let go. That attitude is unhealthy if you are a youth trying to make the big time. I'll say to anyone who wants to make it. You are never bigger than the club. You are never bigger than the managers but if you keep your nose clean and you have the ability then you can have greatness. Remember that the coaches are trying to help you.........not the other way around.
  15. Theres also a wee Irish bar up a lane on Market street that does a cracking pint of the black stuff
  16. Maybe, while on holiday Hayes has decided to stay but agent, looking for a decent fee for himself, has negotiated anyway.
  17. Perhaps the reason is that many are on holiday at the moment. Players can be signed in three minutes. We still have over three weeks to pre-season.
  18. Sorry Luke but this clubs chairman was one of the eleven who passed the new regulations today.
  19. atos??? Atos S.A. are not sponsors of the Paralympics. They are Partners, they will make money as opposed to donate it, who are providing all the IT support. Atos Healthcare UK, who have the same parent company, are the ones responsible for the Work Capability Assessment farce that occurred recently and are run a a totally seperate company. People should also bare in mind that Atos Healthcare UK are a consultancy company and were hired and advised by the UK government. Though they of their staff had no experience in working with disability they were still hired as assessors. Most of the blame for that should lie at the door of No.10.
  20. In the past I've never had a season ticket because I worked offshore and didn't get to too many games. I had intended buying two this season seeing as I've retired now but the farce that is the SPL is making my mind up against that.
  21. Who said we were only keeping one of our U-19's?
  22. Yes but its a couple of games that will give them a bit extra cash
  23. On the point of 20,000 seater stadium. Jonny is unlikely to be at Aberdeen by the time thats in use. AFC have put back the start of the stadium build because they have been unable to secure a deal that gives them all the land they require. Somebody is holding out for more cash methinks. AFC. stated last week that it will be at least a further year before building can commence and they expect it to take a year to build. I cant see Jonny staying at the Pitt for more than two years if he goes there at all.
