  1. As mentioned by a few on the Rangers admin thread that they would stay away if things go as hinted I'd like to guage the level of support against such an action. Personally I am one of those who'll find another sport to support. Shinty's a good day out nowadays.
  2. Proctor, we only miss out if we actually go for someone and another team wins out. Think Elliott is being released because he's a high earner so unless he's likely to take a big drop then I'm sure he wont come to us. Blackie left us for three ttimes what he earned with us and he's now being released along with a few other high earners at Hearts.
  3. If Mr Doncaster wants to ignore the views of some 60,000 football fans in Scotland who have petitioned that they will walk away from football if such a thing does happen then on his head be it. Whats better? Save Rangers by changing the rules and bowing down to the contempt they hold for their creditors or lose that many fans of the game.
  4. Aaron is still listed in the squad http://www.fai.ie/international/under-21/102527.html
  5. There is a question mark over the ownership of Murray Park. Some suggestion that it is still owned by Murray Group. I'm sure I also read recently that the Murray Park grounds are on leasehold and that there is a clause in the lease to the effect that it can only ever be used for sporting facilities.
  6. I want to go back to Copenhagen
  7. Taken from Wiki Following the Olympics, the stadium became the home of FC Bayern Munichh. In 1979 the ground played host to the 1979 European Cup Finall in which Nottingham Forestt won the first of their consecutive European Cup's under Brian Cloughh. In the 1990's Bayern Munich's rivals TSV 1860 Munichh moved into the stadium. The two teams coexisted in the Olympiastadion until 2005, when both clubs moved to the purpose built Allianz Arenaa. Since 2005, it is the host of the yearly air and stylee snowboard event. On December 31, 2006, the stadium made history as being the first venue to host the Tour de Skii cross country skiingg competition. The individual sprint events, held at 1100 m, were won by Norwayy's Marit Bjørgn (women) and Switzerlandd's Christoph Eigenmannn (men). The snow was made in the stadium by combining the hot air with the cold refrigerated water that causes the snow to act like the icy type you would see in the Alps. It went unused in the 2006 FIFA World Cup due to the Allianz Arena being the host stadium in Munich. On June 23 to June 24, 2007, the stadium played host to the Spar European Cup 20077, a yearly athletics event featuring the top 8 countries from around Europe.
  8. How do they get the whales up through the ice holes?
  9. Looking like this could turn out to be a cracking final. Good build up atmosphere.
  10. Both Mannus and Enckleman are out of contract and there's been no local press mention of offers.
  11. If true then I'd imagine its as an apprentice. The lads just 16 though he's reported to be extremely talented.
  12. Yep it does......it says that Tade has indicated that after six years playing in Scotland he's thinking of going back home.
  13. You never know Charles......he's at a loose end tomorrow
  14. I predict a lot of homes in Lieth and Gorgie may have visits from not so nice people while the occupants are on their Weegie awayday. Of the game I see Hibs winning 5-4 on penalties
  15. Because its not a rumour. The discussion is based around an article in local paper
  16. Very long-winded but nevertheless worth a read http://wingsland.podgamer.com/why-scotland-doesnt-need-rangers/
  17. To be fair one of the best games of football I've ever gone to watch was Scottish League Cup Final at McDairmid between Inverness and Forfar Farmington. The bridie eaters won it that time. That was back in 2005 when the girls were ICTLFC. They have done very well over the years since to reach the Premier League. And what season was it they got promoted? 08/09 Ladies went up when ICT went down. Not sure why the affiliation with ICT broke down but I seem to remember it was something to do with a power struggle between coaches. Oddquine, there's very little jiggling busts in ladies football............in fact theres very little bust among many of the players, but many of the teams do play some really good football. Personally I dont see ladies football as an equality thing any more than I see it in any other sport. But then I went to a primary school with a total of 38 kids all ages. If we wanted to play football we had to rope in the girls. And that was way before the word equality ever became popular.
  18. Would that be a hat trick scoring leg end
  19. Pinned this one for you Richard. Do you want the first one deleted?
  20. The fecker made me a sh!te offer so I stuck the heid in him
  21. Exactly why we shopuld trim the whole operation down and invest in QUALITY not quantity. £1m investment a year - you are having a laugh - more spin - this club has NEVER invested anywhere near this amount but would like us to think so. The whole thing is financed by grants and sponsorship. The club's return on investment is EXCEPTIONAL! Seems to me its you doing the spin. I never said the club invested that amount. I said thats what it costs. The football club does however invest in youth. The club takes on a number of apprentices every year. That means wages and insurances have to be paid for players and coaches. Off course the club invests. The bottom line in all this though is that perhaps the product at the end just isnt good enough for top flight. Anyone can see a bit of talent at someones feet but it takes a deal more than that to be a professional footballer. We dont see the attitude off the pitch. We dont see the effort put into training. I'm sure all those things are considered when choosing who to give contracts to and who to let go. Many of the contributers on this thread can only see, and be affected by, those youths that are being let go.They fail to see that the club are also keeping some.
  22. So we dont invest in youth?? Hundreds of kids come through our system at a cost the I believe to be close on a million a year. Look at the investment and look at the end products. The most recent of those being Morrison, Sutherland, Ross and Shinnie. Prior to those I can only think of Munro and Ike Fraser and even going back to HL days of both clubs there are only a handful who have come through Inverness on their way to success. The highlands dont have the ability to produce a conveyor belt of talent but the odd one will come through. We do, however, make investment in the hope that something good will appear.
  23. Second most expensive city in UK after London
  24. One sad fecker..............thats for life not just a season.
  25. Your feelings are understandable Donjo but what would you suggest. I'm assuming that if some youths are being let go then some will be staying. We still need enough to have an U-20 squad for next season. There will always be youths who dont make the grade for whatever reason but no club can keep people on for the sake of it. Players have to be paid but the money isnt there to pay all of them.
