Roll call for Partick
Sadly, though I'll be at Hampden on saturday I can't make Maryhill on sunday. Though I'll be in Fort William my heart will be with the boys.

Managerial Stats
That's nice for you. I thought it was interesting to look at how our different managers have fared over the years, the fact that the data I sourced was incomplete and/or erroneous is obviously misleading but I enjoyed it very much. In fact I think I'll do some in depth research now that you suggested it, thanks CaleyD. :biggrin01: Please dont rely on Wiki or Soccerbase for your research. Both are populated with information from people who think they know everything and what they dont know they make up.

Anything positive to write ?
There are 32 more league games to play. Thats a possible 96 points that we could win. Our team has not been together long. Most of them have no experience of Div 1 or the way the games played in that league. They will gel and they will be successful. And they will win the Alba Cup, make the semi of the Co-opie Cup and the final of the Scottish. There is that positive enough for you?

Adam Rooney
Its not lack of goals from the strikers so much as lack of attempts from the midfield that annoys me. We try and walk the ball into the net instead of blasting the 25 yard screamers we used to.

Scotland squad vs Macedonia
Apologies. He was meant to be in the striker list in place of Kyle.

Managerial Stats
By my calculations, and I've only used league games, Charlie was in charge for 58 games and gained 73 points making 1.26 points per game.

Managerial Stats
Statistics can be turned to mean anything and if the figures taken from soccerbase are those used by absent friend then they are seriously flawed. Charlie was not in charge for 157 games.

Queen of the South - 5th Dec
CD, you need to add n/a buttons to the second and third questions. If anyone votes no they still need to answer the other two which makes the results look silly. ;)

Scotland squad vs Macedonia
I'll be at both games and how I wish we had a team like: Alan Rough, Danny McGrain, Willie Donachie, Tom Forsyth, Gordon McQueen, Bruce Rioch, Don Masson, Kenny Dalglish, Asa Hartford, Joe Jordan, Willie Johnston,

Train travel to Firhill
By Underground: Probably the easiest is to get off at St. Georges Cross and just head North up Maryhill Road until you see the stadium (in Firhill road just off Maryhill road). It should take around 10-15 minutes to walk. Another option is to get off at Kelvinbridge (this is slightly closer to Firhill than St. Georges Cross). Go up the stairs/escalators to Great Western Road, cross Great Western Road and turn to your right. Walk only a few metres until you come to North Woodside Road on your left. Walk down that road until you come to Maryhill Road. Turn left along Maryhill Road to get to the ground. Courtesy of www.scottishgrounds.co.uk

Dale Gillespie, Butchered
No they've never had an U-21 team. They did, however, retain a few of the U-19's from last season.

Drop zadi now!
None here or anywhere else but he scored one of the penalties against Montrose and that back flip overhead scissor kick is not far away. He has on more than one occassion been on target though not scored.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
Thats the problem though Alex , your harping back to the good old days but those days are long gone as are Stuarts better footballing days . Its because of those good old days of continuing success that so many fans now see a defeat as a disaster.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
Its Daniel Park ^_^ I can remember him always being on the bench in the SPL, iv also got his signature aswell. I may be wrong but I dont think Daniel was ever on the bench for ICT first team. Maybe reserves.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
And how good is that player? Your obviously far too young to remember the Stuart Golabek who helped this team to SPL and led it in our first couple of very successful seasons

Drop zadi now!
Jay and AF. Could you take your arguement to PM. Its becoming tedious for the rest of us. I will however put my tuppence worth in here. When Zadi is on form, and the rest of the team are playing to an expected standard, he is exciting to watch. you never know what he's going to do next. He can play well and he can create openings. He can even score the odd goal. And he can make the odd mistake. But so can every other member of our squad. Zadi is a confidence player. He needs everything around him to be going well for him to perform well. When the team run onto the pitch displaying the sort of nervousness that can be felt around the ground Zadi plays bad. When they come out brimming with confidence and the singing gets going Zadi plays well. I dont think its time to drop him but then, what do I know. I've only been interested in this game for forty odd years.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
Could people please go back on topic. This thread is about Hastings and Gollie. Not Lionel. If you want to continue debating him could you use the thread already in place.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
How many strikers do we have to keep signing before everyone is happy. Ten strikers in a team wont win matches. We have 8 listed strikers in our squad already. None of us know what Gollie can do for this team. He wasn't a favourite of Adams but that doesn't mean he's finished. We dont know the reasons for him falling out of favour but I suspect its more to do with style of play than anything else. Stuart can bring a calming influence to the team when under pressure and he can shepherd the younger players. He was a bloody good captain and I'm sure he hasn't lost any of that side of his game.

Drop zadi now!
Jay, I think you may be wrong in your last post. Having looked at the team for thread for the last two games I see that 100% of those who posted a line-up had Lionel starting. I cant be bothered trawling through for the other games but I think I'd find similar posts.

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
You missed Ross Tokely. I believe, for all his faults, he is the linkpin that has kept our defense together for most of the time and his return will see us do better. I also believe Gollie could be the best thing to happen this season. He may be getting on a bit but he can still control a game. A past skipper he has the knowledge and experience to coach and control those around him and he's not short of a few expletives when others aren't doing the business. Tokely, Munro and Gollie.................all thats missing there is Blobby

Unattached Players?
At the moment there's not enough pies to go around at half time. There'd be even less if Bobby Mann came back.

Scotland squad vs Macedonia
Not sure where the squad list above came from but the official list is: Goalkeepers Neil Alexander Rangers Craig Gordon Sunderland David Marshall Cardiff City Defenders Darren Barr Falkirk Stephen McManus Celtic Christophe Berra Wolverhampton Wanderers Gary Caldwell Celtic Steven Caldwell Burnley Callum Davidson Preston North End Alan Hutton Tottenham Hotspur Jamie McAllister Bristol City Steven Whittaker Rangers David Weir Rangers Midfielders Garry O'Connor Birmingham Graham Alexander Burnley Scott Brown Celtic Kris Commons Derby County Darren Fletcher Manchester United Paul Hartley Bristol City James McFadden Birmingham City Shaun Maloney Celtic Forwards David Clarkson Bristol City Steven Fletcher Burnley Kenny Miller Rangers Steven Naismith Rangers 3 Keepers, 10 defenders, 8 Midfield and 4 Forward

Hastings Gone & Golly Back
How much of this has more to do with Dickies international status. He's far less noticed in Div 1 than he would be in SPL. Butcher wont gaurantee him a starting place. Maybe Hamilton will.

ZERO Defeats?
Some people seem to have very short memories. I can recollect gutless displays against many a team in the past and under almost every manager we've had. I dont know why it happens but there are times when the team just dont turn up. The old 'play for each other' ethos doesn't seem to be there and the heads go down too early in a game. I'm sure we'll encounter more displays like that over the years but I hope they are very few and far between.

League cup draw
Record against Motherwell since 04/05 season: Played 17, Won 6, Drawn 2, Lost 9. Four of those losses were in Brewsters second stint with us. Bearing that in mind I wouldn't say our record was that bad against Motherwell. I think any of the teams in the draw would be hard for us and that we have to go out with a win mentality and do the business like we could in days gone by.
