Losing faith in Butcher
Agree with CD but am not in a position to comment on individuals who have been released in recent times. In general though, every team has some sort of youth system in place. They bring players through from primary school age to U-17 and in the case of SPL U-19. Very few of these youngsters break through into their first team though. Clubs get various grants to help with the youth systems but those grants stop at U-17. Most players are released at that point. SPL has U-19 league so, for that league, players are developed further. Sadly teams in the lower leagues cannot afford to develop further and we are one of those teams now. The SFA should be doing a hell of a lot more for those players but sadly it aint happening.

Losing faith in Butcher
Yes Butcher will bring in his own players and build his own team. Every manager does the same thing. They have a plan, a way of playing and they know who can or cant provide the required strengths. Thats the way of the game. What we have been used to at ICT is a team built by Pele and other managers coming in but not staying long enough to make wholesale changes. Tweeks here and there each transfer window but nothing major. Whether we'll be successful in our quest for promotion or not remains to be seen and Butchers future in management will be determined by that. He probably knows that as well. I sincerely hope he is successful and I give him the benifit of the doubt until such time as I see otherwise.

Drop zadi now!
Every season a player is chosen for ridicule by a certain faction of the ICT fanbase. This season its Lionel, last it was Andy B, before that there was Rory and there was Liam Fox. Will we ever have a season where no player is boo'd?

Butcher stay or go
So why are you not a football manager?

Butcher stay or go
What is the big gripe in all this? Is it that we've suffered our first defeat in this league or is it that County beat us? We've played 4 games out of 36. We've a very new team who, I believe, will come good soon. Prior to the season start all eyes were on Dundee. Are they wiping the board? No! ten teams in this league and all ten could win it. We are not superior to anyone else but we have a team that can do the business and a management that can get the results. The fans need to stop being so negative so early in the season and get behind the boys on the pitch. And well done County. It'll be a long time till you ever get one over us again so saviour it.

Had credit is it time for blame?
The supporters Trust is made up of supporters of this club. At the time when we were struggling under Brewster the chairman of the trust voiced the opinion of a large number of the supporters of the club. Blatant abuse of the Trust is blatant abuse of the supporters of this club. For that reason this thread is closed.

Bring Back Barry Wilson!
First of Mrs PB.......the team doesn't train at Fort G any more. Think its Culloden Secondly we couldn't afford the transfer fee for Baz. He's got a year at QoS. BUT I AGREE ALL THE SAME

Disappointed in Butcher?.
300 unemployed players..........that'll be 300 not good enough for even the juniors? Not so long ago our managers were being chastised for looking no further than the Scottish lower leagues for players. Those we let go went because they wanted more than we could pay them or because they didn't show the drive and commitment required. Dundee brought in a load of players and where are they? A point above us and not at the top. Our problem is not the players ability. Our problem is that too many times the team goes out and doesn't play. That is why Brewster went and there were all sorts of rumours about him losing the dressing room. When the team comes out of the tunnel its only they who can dictate the game. If they choose not to do the basics they get humped. There has to be some reason for this, and someone suggested the fans, and it has to be fixed. I dont know the reason nor how to fix it but considering the same often happened under Christie and Brewster its hard to blame Butcher.

Co-opie Cup Round 3
Draw to take place next tuesday at 2pm Teams in draw: Celtic, Rangers, Hearts, Falkirk, Motherwell, Aberdeen, Inverness, Ross County, Dundee U, Dundee, QoS, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Hibs, Dunfermline, Kilmarnock. Not an easy wish among that lot but I'd love a home tie against Falkirk for revenge

Sir David Murray to stand down
Not sure how it could be said that Murray made anything out of Rangers. He bought the club for ?6m. When they had ?74m of debt he launched a share offer that reduced the debt considerably and gave him a 90% stake in the club. The debt now stands at around ?20m which, if the money men wanted to foreclose now, would see him liable for ?18m of that. Whether he sells his stake or not remains to be seen but, as it is, he's doing exactly the same as what Mr Sutherland did. Take a back seat but still be in control. Of tha assets Rangers have I dont see Ibrox as being worth anything because there would be murder and rioting in Glasgow if anyone suggested selling it of. Murray made his vast wealth by selling steel to the oil industry and the building industry at a time when these industries were in ascendancy. He didn't need to make anything out of Rangers.

Youngest player senior appearance
Nick was born 11/11/91. His debut was against Montrose in cup at age 17 yrs and 256 days. League debut was as sub against Ayr at age 17 yrs 277 days. That is if my mental arithmetic stands true.

ICT Financial Accounts-YE 31/05/09
ICT Youth system is, I believe, self financing and is financed by grants from Scottish FA, Scottish league and sponsorship from Lifescan. My understanding of the disappearance of previous debt is that it was taken over by Caledonian Thistle Properties Ltd, a company that Inverness Thistle and Caledonian Ltd has a 50% stake in. Though the debt is not on the books of the club it is still there.

ICT Financial Accounts-YE 31/05/09
We've made losses for two years but we're not in the mire. Assets are valued at over ?900k and we have near ?350k in the bank. This season we have the chance to win the league and do well in three cups. Success will make money. The club has done well to get things back on track and, I'm sure, will continue to do so. We took the risk of bringing in a number of players in january to try and save our SPL status. That risk cost money and it failed. We reduced our losses by a considerable amount and we have no debt. Hopefully that will continue and we will go on to be the club in the black.

On one hand.......
We haven't conceded any goals in the league

Smoking area for half time
The footballing fraternity brought about a no smoking in stadiums ruling for a couple of reasons. The Bradford fire was believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette. Many stadiums are still of a flammable construction. The comfort of those around the smoker who dont smoke is also a consideration. At some area's of Pittodrie and Kilmarnock smoking is tolerated within the area between the stand and the perimeter fence. Those people are out of the stadium but are still deemed to be inside because they are still fenced in. The law of the land bans smoking in public enclosed spaces. It also bans smoking in the workplace. Within the TCS and the carpark areas it could be construed that those are workplaces. The clubs make the rulings and before we buy our tickets we know the ruling. Personally I find it hard to believe that someone cant go a couple of hours without a fag. I travel long distances, on public transport, to games and on work related business. I fly away on holiday, anything up to five or six hours. I drive long journeys and respect the non smoking passengers in my car. I can go to a restuarant and sit, in company, for a couple of hours enjoying a meal and a drink without the need for a smoke. Smokers are a minority nowadays so clubs are not going to accept our reasoning. Best just put it out of the mind for the duration. And before anyone makes rash conclusions I've smoked for close on 40 years and can, at times, get through 40 in a day.

Refreshments kiosks
Reading the apology on official site I think it was the caterers who were at fault and not the club.

12 Match Ban !
Why.....many a manager prefers to sit in the stand with a mobile or walkie talkie.

Livingston FC
By demoting Gretna to div 3 the SFL killed that club. The one buyer who could have saved the club, kept it full time in Div 1 and ensured the livelihoods of a lot of people, pulled out because of the demotion. So, seeing as that the SFL have not learned a thing from this, is it right to put another club in the same position when, given time, they may recover?
