Why havent we built on promotion to the top flight
What really went on between Savage and Sutherland most of us dont really know other than a bit of spin from both parties. I agree with most of what Harry says. By staying in this league we are progressing. There are 10 teams in it who will always be competing for places and none of these are more or less deserving than the others. There are a half dozen in div 1 who would also compete. The first priority must be to put together a team that can keep us in the top flight. After that league positions and cup runs are a bonus. That applies to every team bar the OF and always will. None of those teams are leaving us behind as has been suggested. I work alongside an Aberdeen fan whos held a season ticket since he was a lad. This season he is not renewing and doesn't intend to support his team any longer. Why? Because Aberdeen are going backwards according to him. St Mirren are spending this season from the windfall they got from a supermarket. Will they sustain that in future years? Who's Hamilton brought in that we couldn't compete against? Killie are still in a bad way financially. Motherwell have had one good season..........will they continue the same? I believe there isn't a team in the league that we should fear. That is progress.

Why havent we built on promotion to the top flight
There's been a lot of very interesting, and valid, comments made on this thread. How about those who made them put them to the Supporters Trust and formally request that questions be asked at board level.

Niculae
If I were chairman I'd be looking deeper than the money in the bank. I'd be basing my decision on: 1. What he can bring to the club if we keep him? 2. Does he want to stay and give his all for this club? i.e can I persuade him to extend? 3. Is our income base strong enough to maintain a higher than normal salary? 4. Does our Head Coach think he's a must to help progress the club? 5. Is the dressing room happy? 6. Will I win the board over on this? So, even at a million I sit on the fence cos I aint the chairman.

Fans V Players
What you need to do is put together a team and then approach the club with your suggestion. I'm sure they'd give it serious consideration for next and subsequent seasons.

Niculaes future to be decided today.....
Dinamo Bucharest and Karlhsrue are the one reported in P & J. Stevico, who's a good friend of Marius tells us these were not the teams who made offers. For reasons known to him he wont divulge who the correct ones are.

Sorry but if it was Fiona that wrote it then she is normally very fair and objective in her reporting.

Brewster looking for another 'keeper
I think Mike Fraser has come of age and is as good as any keeper in this league bar one. But yes he does need someone pushing him. Since Brew dropped him in favour of Zibi he has been on his toes and done well for us. Too many people think a goalie should stop anything and everything but the truth is he's only as good as his defence. And we've seen some bad defending. Christ, even Alan Rough and Jim Leighton made some howlers in their time.

According to THIS REPORT Barrowman had a good game, even though his finishing let him down

Niculaes future to be decided today.....
SMEE please refrain from name calling. The first fact is that the P & J have the wrong teams being turned down. Second, the free up wages bit is guesswork from a journo.

Those pesky neighbours!
Could I just point out to people that since 2005 Gypsy Travellers have been granted 'Race' status and as such people who use the terms Gypo, Tink, Pikey etc in a derogatory fashion could find themselves open to prosecution.

Niculaes future to be decided today.....
This is nothing to do with Graeme Bennett. he was the one, along with Alan Savage, who persuaded the board to take a chance on Niculae in the first place. Brewster wants Marius to stay, Bennett wants Marius to stay. Sadly those with the biggest clout, and I'm sure theres a bagpipe tune called Sutherlands Men, dont want to keep him. Rather strange also that the annual accounts haven't appeared yet.

The stands are not temporary. And I'd be very surprised if you'd find wood anywhere in them. As for the rest, like bucket say's, fill the seats every week and the rest will happen.

Clach roll call
Its for an episode of 'Worlds Most Dangerous Football Firms'. They've heard of the bitter and dangerous rivalry between the Sneck Ultra's and the Great Unwashed.

Tulloch
I'm sure your right in a lot you say CD but there could be effects for ICT if recession strikes. Those losing their jobs not being able to afford it. Those on lower incomes deciding food is more important. Its not just Tullochs that will be affected. Its all the knock ons.........contractors etc.

Those pesky neighbours!
Going to be quite a fight in div 1 this season. Super J's Dundee County Dunfermline and Livi all spending to win this season
-
Tulloch
He's a pretty shrewd guy. He sold of a lump to ROK in exchange for ROK shares so, in effect he sold nothing. ROK have just won a ?15 million contract to upgrade houses in the SE of England for a home rental company

Niculaes future to be decided today.....
I have reason to believe that Brewster is desperate to keep Marius and that the board and Marius support this. However they will look at any offers that come in and decisions on these will be made based on both the interests of the club and the interests of the player. I am also led to believe that contrary to what is written in the press there have been no serious or firm offers as yet. Marius was back in training yesterday and I'm quite sure he is happy to get on with the job he's being paid for.
