  1. Dont forget there's a game tomorrow against Clach Grant St 3pm And for the Aberdeenshire based fans there's also one at Inverurie. Same time
  2. Not sure how anyone sounds french unless they were actually talking the language. Maybe he was actually sounding Greek and on the phone to his Ionikos mates about some loan deals.
  3. I wish him well but cant help feeling he's probably found his level in the game.
  4. I expect we will stay up. I also expect that, with a pre-season and a full season ahead of him, Brewster will get better results this season. Possibly even better cup runs than we've had previous seasons. And finally, I expect us to have three points after the first game of the season and that we'll build on that before we meet any of the OF.
  5. Tokely Munro Hastings Zadi ? ? ?
  6. To put Zibi in perspective he still has a year of his contract to go at Hibs. He was offered a contract at ICT, which would likely have meant compensation of some sorts to Hibs, but because we couldn't give him a guarantee of regular first team starts he chose not to accept. This was well publicised a couple of months ago in the local press. The club wanted him to stay, he chose to leave. Simple as.
  7. Those youths I mention are 20 year olds. Hibs and Motherwell found themselves in a position where thay had no choice but to play youngsters and found success. Our guys have played a few seasons in the reserves against a lot of the players they'd come up against in the first team and done very well. Give them the chance I say
  8. Being someone who always likes to think positive it could also be that the board, in consideration of the cost to keep the guy, want to discuss what he would like to do. I'm sure when he was signed first there would have been some agreement on, if or, when he would move on and it may be, because he did indicate that he.d prefer to play in Romania or Italy, that offers have come from elsewhere but the board need to consider Niculae's preferences before making a decision. It may also be that the guy fancies staying for another season and the board want him to stay but would like to sort a contract extension so they are protecting their investment. Ever the optimist me.
  9. This whole thread, full of very valuable comment and discussion, is based on an article from the Daily Ranger and regurgitated by Skysports. And they report a meeting is to be held with the board today (wed) yet we know Marius isn't coming back till tomorrow.
  10. He said in todays P&J that he wants to sign another 'keeper so either he is contradicting himself or he is being misquoted. Dont you think, perhaps, he's distinguishing between defender and keeper. He did also say in last weeks paper he wants to go with three keepers this season hence the reason for promoting McNulty. As well as the defenders listed above we have Duff and Kerr. Why does nobody see our home grown as being a part of our team.
  11. To be fair I think Brew was just answering a question fairly and honestly. He hadn't even thought about it. At no point in THIS ARTICLE does he say it wont be Grant and its the paper, not Brew, who are suggesting the other names.
  12. These are not temporary stands. A few thousand tonnes of concrete should testify to that. What they are are stands that can be taken down again. Originally the club wanted temporary stands to allow time for development whilst playing at home but this was disallowed.
  13. I'm quite sure Brew's waiting to see what transpires during pre-season before deciding though I dont see why Granty wouldn't be in the running. He done ok in the second half of last season
  14. Why does TinCanFan ask so many questions that others cant be bothered answering?
  15. To be fair, we have, since the beginning of last season, taken in five new players and secured the services of seven from the youths. There will likely be another couple before the season starts. Wholesale changes just dont work. There has to be an element of continuity from season to season. A mix of youth and experience and the coaching staff are now of the opinion that our youth players are ready to take up the challenge whilst retaining some of those who have the experience and ability to help those youths and new players fit in and adapt to the rigours of first team SPL football as an ICT player. jaml23, I think your being a bit unfair in writing of the team we have this season before they have even kicked a ball in earnest. None of us know how we will perform but I dont believe we are relegation fodder just yet.
  16. What, if anything, is the effect on the Highland Academy
  17. Of 30 non SPL teams only Stenhousemuir meet the SFA criteria to compete in the top youth league. So are the SFA right and 29 teams wrong? I think the SFA are being very stupid in this. Highlight the problem and give the teams time to comply. Dont go straight to sanctions. The teams can fold their youth initiatives but what about the youngsters. Whats the effect on them and the future of the game? And why should Lex Gould have a say in this kangaroo court?
  18. Sorry SMEE but that is uncalled for. The exact same thing could easilly happen to ICT and any other team. County and the others have complied with the law of the land in regards to the employment of those working with youngsters. Unfortunately, and for no good reason, the SFA have made their own law in this regard and require clubs, at their own expense, to renew 'Disclosure Scotland' investigations every three years. For a club this is a very big expense as everyone involved with youngsters, be they coaches, escorts for matches, the coach driver, families who volunteer to board youths, even players who want to impart their skills to the youngsters, must have a valid disclosure. the law requests a five year review so why do the SFA think three years is better. After all, if anyone is convicted of an offense within the guidelines their position would be made public knowledge by the courts.
  19. I believe Newcastle have launched a system whereby you by your first season ticket and at the same time set up a payment plan and start paying for next seasons one and so on.
  20. How's about we steal the strips from Kingussie Shinty Club
  21. Well spoken claretfan. Clacher the 'Liverpool cringe-fest', as you so eloquently put it, is not a pre-season. The season starts the week before.
  22. At least we're casting our net further than Wick.
  23. Just like Errea, Adidas bring out a number of new designs each year and the clubs choose the design and incorporate their own colours. Every chance the next Liverpool home top could look like the County away one.
  24. One player maketh not a team
  25. From what I've seen of other teams signings so far there's nothing to indicate we dont have the squad to compete with everyone except the OF. Killie have signed nobody, Falkirk have signed a few has beens. Be positive guys
