I have to say I believe this is the best chance we'll ever have to get one over on them. First game of the season. The desire to beat them even stronger. They have made mass changes to their squad and they've been really sh!te in pre-season. Whether or not I, or the rest of you, have confidence in our back four, at the minute, they have the advantage of having been together for a while now, as do our mid-field. The niggling concern may be the strike force. I hope those guys get it on right from the start.
  2. Someone somewhere along the way is an out and out liar
  3. STORY IN COURIER This sentence intrigues me: "Naturally I would be delighted to carry on if I can, but if someone else does come in then they will have my full backing. Is Grant perhaps hinting that someone could be signed to take on the role?
  4. I remember a season ago when the wee ginger minger had to concede in an after match interview that Rossco was the difference between the two teams. McGeady couldn't get past him.
  5. Seems to me that the reason we're in the situation, and the reason the club believe Niculae should not get what he claims is due him, is because the guy was, in effect, in breach of contract. He, allegedly, requested time of to attend to personal business in Romania. Whilst there he signed for another club without permission or agreement from his contracted club and apparently without the help of his agent. Mix that with the power struggle. Orion brought him to Inverness. Tullochs didn't like it. Orion got pushed to the side. Tulloch get rid of the player. Orion then represent the player and advise him to fight for the cash. I foresee a big court battle on the horizon.
  6. Just testing your powers of observation :001:
  7. Just as a practice for the season ahead, and to break away from the other goings on, I thought I'd start a team thread. So, because the opposition is decent and a good tester before the Aberdeen game, I'd like to see it being looked at as a proper game and not one with a dozen changes during it. And my team would be Fraser Rossco, Munro, Hastings, Zadi Cowie, Duncan, Black, Imrie Rory, Barrowman Bench: Esson, Kerr, McGuire, Wilson, McBain, Sutherland, Wood
  8. From reading, seeing and hearing from people this whole saga smacks of Orion v Tulloch with a football player and a club caught in the middle.
  9. What makes you think Holroyd. Surely if we're after another striker then it would be better to have someone with more experience. We've enough youngsters as it is in that role.
  10. Maybe it was the other way around. Cowie may have been offered longer but he chose the shorter terms.
  11. Not sure Alex. I definitely recognise the name Callaghan from somewhere involving ICT and he caused a problem with a transfer before. Or maybe it was Kevin Drinkells company I'm thinking about

Not sure if thier allowed to do that birdog. Selling the away tickets themselves should, I would have thought, be more benificial to clubs in that it allows them to build a database of fans and gives better control over who's buying tickets.
  13. I thought Rankin and Wyness were represented by Simon Stainrods company.
  14. This is the paragraph I'd like clarity on Dinamo Bucharest offered ?400,000 to Inverness to sign the Romanian internationalist but Inverness are refusing to sign his release until they have received the transfer fee from Bucharest.
  15. And the Highland News Slant is.....

From BBC Rangers defend away ticket plan Martin Bain defended the Old Firm's stance on away tickets Rangers have defended the Old Firm's plans to charge a 5% handling fee to sell tickets for away tickets. They were criticised after writing to the other 10 SPL clubs outlining their plans and accused of "stirring up a hornet's nest". But Rangers chief executive Martin Bain said he was surprised at the reaction. "It's incredulous that, despite our attempts to explain this rationally to other clubs, some of them refuse to accept our approach," he said. BBC Sport has learned that some clubs are now set to bypass the previous arrangement and sell the tickets for games against Celtic and Rangers themselves. And Falkirk managing director George Craig told the BBC the club would sell away tickets for the home game against Rangers on 9 August - rather than send them to the Ibrox club to allocate. Bain said he was disappointed at the reaction, adding: "The actions we've taken are in the best interests of our fans and the club. "We hope this is recognised by our travelling support, despite the complicated and difficult route that may now exist to obtain tickets for fixtures that were once easy to obtain." The Rangers chief executive added: "At this stage Falkirk, Hibs, Hearts and Dundee United have indicated they will sell tickets to our fans themselves and we await confirmation of the official response from the clubs." Kilmarnock chairman Michael Johnston has described the Old Firm move as "stirring up a hornets' nest". Speaking earlier this month, he told BBC Sport: "It's causing a bit of consternation in certain quarters. It's an issue we could've done without." So four clubs out of ten have told them to stick it. :clapping03:
  17. Unless the manager knows in advance that the player is going to be an asset then shorter contracts are probably the better option. When the player has been assessed then get in with the longer contract, which is exactly what was hoped with Cowie. The way things are at the minute we could find ourselves up chit creek at the end of the season. All the youngsters who were given one year deals could turn out to be excellent and offski.
  18. I suppose thats Dons choice and Brewster needs to work on him now and try and get him to change his mind. The heartening thing for me is that the club wanted to start talks at the end of last season and have not, in fact, been sitting on thier hands as some would be led to believe.
  19. Personally I think this topic should never have been started.
  20. Seems to me ICT are in the right. Marius agrees to waive his share of the fee in exchange for being sold to Bucharest instead of the highest bidder and now appears to be reneging on the deal. Thats my interpretation from what the media are reporting. RiG is he going to his or ICT's prefered team
  21. According to BBC they haven't recieved the payment
  22. So, assuming your correct CD. ICT................Marius we've had an acceptable bid from Kiaserslautern so you can go there and get your windfall Marius...........Let me speak to Dinamo and see if they'll match the offer. Thats where I want to go Bucharest.....Sorry we can't pay that much ICT...............Sorry we cant let you go to Bucharest for their price unless you forego your windfall (Seems reasonable to me) Bucharest.....We're witholding the money till ICT and Niculae sort themselves out ICT...............Sorry but he's still our player and we are well within our rights to hold on to him Result..........STALEMATE
  23. Sorry AM but not being able to understand the language I cant figure out the 'obvious' links. One positive though. Thier away strip is Red and Black :blah01:
  24. When I was a little child I loved going to my grandads house. He had loads of old clocks that he'd let me wind up
  25. Sorry reedee but thats bad. Never mind come christmas the terracing will resonate to the tune from 'Knock Off Nigel' and the following words: He's tall and he's broad and he dresses in pink T-shirts with slogans when he goes for a drink On the field he dont move much but he gets in the hole Has a quick look and strikes and he gets us a goal He's our goal scoring Rory the Pride of the Sneck Our goal scoring Rory the Pride of the Sneck
