  6. I see a few comments here about integrating with the community and promoting to the kids. Truth is, that is already happening. Thats what TeamICT is all about. The players do take the time to get around the schools etc. It takes years to alter the mindset of a lot of people though. What we need to do is to bring folk into the stadium in the short term. Make the day a day of entertainment with a good football match thrown in. American Football must be one of the most boring spectator sports but the game is made into a spectacle by fitting in other entertainments, cheerleaders etc. during the many breaks they have in the game. British football needs to get into the 21st century and provide value for money and if the Highland News really wants to get involved then lets see them get away from the editing table and out to the stadium. Sponsor something. Penalty shootout, kids seven a side at half time, (short pitch, five mins each half). Once upon a time a car dealership in Falkirk put up a prize of a vehicle to the person who could hit a particular target, positioned in the goalmouth, from the centrespot. Dont remember anyone actually achieving this but I did know loads of people who would go to the game just to have the chance of trying. People who wouldn't normally go to a match became hooked. Theres lots of things that can be done but someone needs to take the lead. Come on Highland News, lets see action and not just words.

  11. Three games this month: Away to Rangers --- I believe the boys will be well up for this, based on previous form at Castle Greyskull. and will, at the very least, come away with a point. Though the Huns are there for the taking so three points is a possibility. Home to Falkirk --- This is a definite must win game. We've got to get two home wins on a run to give the boys a boost. To show there is no curse on TCS. And to show the home fans we can do it. Besides the three points are needed. Away to St Mirren--- This is revenge for the hiding we got first game of the season. Got to show them the real ICT. And another three points of course. So, all in all, I will be expecting at least seven points in October. Sadly I'm going to be in sunny Cyprus for the home game but I'll defo be at the two away matches. And before all the negative posters get in just remember, we've only lost two out of nine games so far this season. Only Celtic can better that. And Hearts can equal it. And we're in eighth place with two games, from the first round, to go. Mon the Caley Jaggies
  12. Did a number of the players on Scotties list not sign two year extentions before Brew left, whilst still having a year of their then contract to run.
  13. What a stupid statement! I have never been a BF fan, especially since he came back north, but I would like to think that, when all those available to play are being scrutinised on the training ground, Walter Smith will pick the best team to face the French on the day. Remember, just cos he's in the squad, he may not even play.
  14. Thats cos Sky has the Scotland game.
  15. Point 1. Marvin would not have been good for us regardless of race, colour or creed. He has a totally f***ed knee and refuses to have it operated on. He would never manage another season in SPL. Point 2. God, obviously, never told him to approach ICT. Point 3. It is reported that he has signed a three year £1000 a year deal being paid for partly by the club and partly by other parties. And, as for players of other races, there will be such a player at ICT in the not too distant future. More and more good players are coming over to Britian from African and Carribean countries, where they see the wages, even those paid paid by clubs such as ours, conditions and future prospects as being a great deal better than they could ever achieve in their home nations.

  18. Look at the accident stats for the two-way sections and compare them with the stats for the duelled sections and you'll see why the whole road needs upgrading. Incidently, the majority of fatalities on this road have occurred at badly designed junctions, such as Ballinluig, Bruar, GlenTruim, Aviemore, Carrbridge, and by folk pploughing into the back of parked vehicles in layby's not fit for purpose.

  22. Nobody, but me, thought we'd win in Lithuania. Real Scots are always optimistic. Remember Ally's Army and how we were going to win the World Cup. :003:
  23. My pre-match pint will cost £2.50ish. Yours £7.50ish :016:
  24. Lack of goalmouth action ---- could that have had anything to do with the nine dunfermline defenders.
  25. What is needed is for the wide midfielders to get to the corners when the wing backs go forward. We have to start playing the width of the pitch along its full length. No point having the widest pitch in the league if we dont use it all to our advantage. For me Rankin's a left of central midfielder.
