Would love to know where those figures came from. The UK population is around 63 million. Of that 2.5 million are unemployed, 11.5 million are over pension age and a further 11.5 million are under 16 years old. As the population of Scotland stands at 5.3 million and a large number of those are migrants where does he get the 6 million Scots from?

We dont just have Dundee. We also have the three teams immediately below us to contend with. There's just not enough gap between us and bottom six at the moment so every point will be needed.

The one thing Tynecastle will never be is a supermarket. The infrastructure and city centre planning wont allow it. Make some very nice condiminiums though.

Courtesy of DFC DUNDEE PUT TO SWORD BY HIGHLANDERS Interim boss John Brown and assistant Ray Farningham were at Links Park, Montrose on Tuesday afternoon to cast an eye over the young Dees as they took on Inverness Caledonian Thistle in a Clydesdale Bank Under 20 league match. Dundee’s two recent signings, David Morgan and Don Cowan were both in the ‘home’ line-up in this game switched from Dens. The Highlanders were first to threaten when Craig Smith brought down Matthew Cooper on the edge of the penalty area and Dundee keeper Alex Baird had to look lively to hold on to Liam Polworth’s free kick effort. Baird had to be alert again five minutes later, this time saving at the feet of Cooper. Don Cowan was making an impressive debut for Dundee. The striker was proving a handful for the Inverness defence with his power and pace and he opened the scoring in the 19th minute. A long ball out of defence looked to be the Caley centre half’s ball all the way, but Cowan brushed his man aside before racing into the box and sending an unstoppable shot high into the net. Five minutes later, though, Caley were back on level terms courtesy of a soft penalty award, the ball appearing to strike Matty Allan’s arm as he lay on the ground and Polworth sent Baird the wrong way with his spot kick. Dundee went back up the other end and Rori Bews sent a dangerous free kick into the box which unfortunately found no takers. Inverness almost took the lead on the half hour mark when Kyle White rattled the Dens Parkers’ crossbar. Just before half time the impressive Cowan saw his shot go narrowly past the upright. HT: Dundee 1 Inverness CT 1 Another Polworth free kick in the opening minutes of the second period saw Baird again having to save low to his right. Craig Wallace then made a terrific lung-bursting run up the left wing but when his ball was cut out and played back down the park, Kevin Buchan picked up a booking as he covered for the left back. On the hour mark the visitors took the lead. A diagonal ball into the Dundee box found Ryan Watson at the back post and he drove the ball past Baird. Dundee then sent on Lee Cameron for Gary Duggan, Kyle Clark for Bews and Calum McHardy for Cowan in an attempt to get the equaliser. A spectacular Kevin Buchan effort from 25 yards had the visiting keeper struggling and he was just able to turn it round the post for a corner. Buchan was then just off target with a 30-yard effort that cleared the bar by inches. In the final minute Caley wrapped things up with a third goal, this one coming from White from close range. The only way we can be relegated is to lose every game from now on in and Dundee win every game. Is that a possibility?

Having had another think about it what would be the point in letting Hogg go if thats him just getting back to full fitness. That would have been a waste of a years wage. After playing in the U20s match i would like to see him get some more match fitness before the end of the season, and if he is injury free then i'd give him a 6 month deal to run him over until January and see what he has in him. Personally I think that the club, possibly with input from Butcher, kept Hogg on the books because he was injured in the services of the club and to give his family some security during his rehabilitation. Whether or not he's kept on will depend on whether he fits into Butchers current plans and whether he is fully recovered from his injury. It would be a very callous club that would let him, or any other player, go under similar circumstances. In the new setup its envisaged that there will be more mid week games so the more defenders we can afford the better the chances we have. If Both Hogg and King prove to be back to full fitness then I'd like to see them stay along with fit ones we have.

No, I would not say that interpretation is accurate. So why, when we are disbanding the current SPL to form a league structure involving an amalgamation of SPL and SFL, does this group go by the name SPL Fans United? And why target the SFA? The body whose only real role is to police the laws of the game in Scotland. Ah wait now!!! The SFA policed the laws of the game and their detective work unearthed breaches of those laws so they tried and convicted the perpetrators.

At the end of the day, rightly or wrongly, the referee decided it was not a deliberate handball. My view is that he was turning away from the ball so could not have any control over which part of his body it hit.

I could have sworn that the SPL had its own rules and constitution. Is it true that the criteria for membership of SPL Fans United involves supporting a Govan based team?

All we need to do is equal or better those below us. Simples. I believe we will take three from Dundee. I believe County will lose to Celtic. Those results should set us up for a decent derby match on a decent surface with, hopefully, a decent referee. And an ICT win.

Regardless of what the law says or what the true definition of 'legal tender' is can I point out that the Bank of England no longer 'promise to pay the bearer on demand in X pounds sterling' but all the Scottish banks do. As for his wifes experience was it a Clydesdale note by any chance? I've travelled all over England and Wales over the years, including Ormskirk, and have only ever had a problem once. That was in Norwich with a Clydesdale 20. When independance comes we need to refuse BOE notes because they are not legal tender up here.
