  1. Ten facts about an independant Scotland: Being independent means that the people of Scotland will be in charge of Scotland’s future. Together, we care most about our nation, so nobody else is going to do as good a job of making Scotland a success. If Scotland votes yes, the first independent parliament will be elected in 2016 – we will get the government we vote for, unlike today, with a government in London the majority of voters in Scotland did not support. Scotland more than pays her way in the UK. We get 9.3% of UK spending, but contribute 9.6% of UK taxes. We are in a stronger financial position than the rest of the UK, to the tune of £500 per person last year - that's over £1000 for each Scottish household. As an independent country, this money would stay in Scotland. Scotland already pays for all the government services we need as an independent country - we don't have to start from scratch. However, the money will be spent in Scotland, rather than London, creating thousands of Scottish jobs. With independence we'll save on some UK spending - so the initial start up costs will be met by the £250 million annual saving from the UK's existing nuclear weapons and the £50 million annual saving by no longer paying for politicians at Westminster. Scotland would remain part of the EU. EU law doesn't allow for Scotland to be unilaterally kicked out on independence. And, EU law also makes clear that Scotland can't be forced to join the euro. We will continue to use the pound, just as we do today. Scotland has 25% of the EU's offshore wind and tidal energy potential. By 2020 our renewable energy could be generating £2 billion a year of exports and by 2050 the value of electricity from offshore renewables could be £14 billion. Scotland doesn't need oil to become independent, but our oil and gas resource is worth over £1 trillion and gives us a safety net for the future. Last year saw record investment in the North Sea and in October, BP said they expected North Sea oil and gas to flow for at least another 40 years. The UK government doesn't include oil and gas when it talks about Scotland's finances. But, if you do include oil and gas in our national accounts, we would be the 6th wealthiest nation per capita in developed world. Scotland has a wealth of talent - for our size we have more world-class universities than any other nation and our research tops world league tables. Source: YesScotland website
  2. Fashion police out in force!! Its not what they wear that makes a good manager!!
  3. Ask any Welshman and he'll tell you OTJ was gash in that position for Wales.
  4. One fatal mistake in that story. There is no such entity as the UK NHS.
  5. Dougal, if you dont like it stay away. Who are the people laughing at us anyway? The only person ever to moan about our stadium is you. Did folk laugh at Hibs prior to 2010 when they only had three stands?
  6. I would think Raven is out. Reguero Meekings, Hogg, Devine, G. Shinnie Doran, OTJ, A. Shinnie, Ross Foran, MacKay Bench: Mathieson, Taylor, Sutherland, Pepper, Polworth, Gibbons
  7. For those interested read here http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/competitions/Regulations/01/80/06/31/1800631_DOWNLOAD.pdf and here http://www.fai.ie/PDF/UEFAStadiumInfrastructureRegulations2010.PDF If we were to reach the group stages we'd require a category 4 stadium. 8000 seats
  8. Looking at Raven he walked without arguement when the red came out. However, I do think that, so early in the game, it was a tad harsh. From so far out I couldn't see how it was a goal scoring opportunity so IMO a yellow and free kick would have been enough.
  9. Were we without Rangers? Cant say I noticed!!
  10. At the end of the day we have achieved far more this season that ever before so even it we dont retain third we will have been more successful than before.
  11. By your reckoning we only need three points. If Celtic and Motherwell both take the points from County and St J then three points from three games is enough for us.
  12. Sparta or Dukla Prague
  13. Think I'll stick to bootcut and guiness
  14. Lennons arguement is how well they've done in cups and Europe as well as league. What he forgets is that this award is voted for by SPL players, including Celtic ones, who generally only see each other in SPL competition.
  15. Didn't Roberts get injured and go back south for treatment?
  16. It never ceases to amaze me how far down the bootom of the barrel the anti's will scrape to try and find reason for their arguements.
  17. I remember another young lower league player who was making headlines for his scoring ability. Where is he now? Awaiting redundancy notice?
  18. According to some Welsh friends Owain was usually played out of position as afull back because of his size.
  19. Or he may just realise that playing for us is what got him back into the squad and choose to stay.
  20. I wouldnt call Snodgrass inexperienced. I think there is a need to start building for next Euro's and hopefully we'll see some of the younger players coming onto form but we do need to retain some of the experienced like Maloney to help the others along. The big problem is we just dont have players with the required quality at the moment.
  21. If the boy from Norwich City had kept his cool Scotland would have won that game, although Wales passed them off the park. I like Miller he has done yeoman service for club and country in the past, but it was as you say a great opportunity to give Rhodes a go. After all he is scoring every week more or less for lacklustre Blackburn Rovers team. If we have ( I say we because I feel for Scotland although I am a sassenach, but I do have a highlander grandaughter ) a plan for the future it should be for the rest of this campaign, to give all the young lads a go. Nothing to lose I also think Chris Coleman seems to have more about him tactics wise than Gordon Strachan, time will tell on that front England seem to have an abundance of riches , leaving out their Captain Steven Gerrard and still winning , Anyway I have my fingers crossd for Wales now pity Ramsay will be banned he is one hell of a talent. against a nation with a population of 30,000 and a national team that was only formed in 1986
  22. Think even God would struggle with that one.
  23. I once read in the Sun that phone hacking was illegal and they didn't use such powers.
  24. I think PMF is trying to tell you that the only way County dont remain in top six is if we drop points against Hibs and St J and other results also go against them.
