  1. With butcher rebuilding the team (again), where are ICT expected to finish this season. Is it anywhere as long as it's not 12th for those with the glass half empty? Is it 6th for those with the glass half full? Is it higher than 6th for the dreamers or is 8th or 9th which i think is where we shall finish for the realists?
  2. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18625293 Interesting read on the bbc website. Glad to see the 1st div clubs standing up for footbal integrity by expressing their disapproval for a newco rangers in the 1st div next season. Why cant the SPL/SFL just do the right thing for once and put rangers in the 3rd div and move one team up a league. This would have happened ages ago had it been any other non OF team in this same situation
  3. They will be bringing in the ground force team to finish the job - Cue the music!!!!
  4. I second that! Although i don't usually like to agree with the old man, i do on this. Well said! Interesting to see the report thats been posted on here. Goes to show how much the fans want to see the newco in the 3rd division and quite right too. The chairman of the SPL clubs need to take note of this and react to it. Hearts and Dundee UTD have already said they are voting no and i hope that KC comes forward soon with a similar statement.
  5. Does anyone know how our season ticket sales are going?
  6. This is what i am sending to Mr Cameron: Dear Mr Cameron I am a lifelong Inverness Caledonian Thistle supporter and have been since Inverness Thistle and Inverness Caledonian merged to form Caledonian Thistle in 1994. My first match was a home game at the old Telford Street and I have never looked back. Since then, my love for the club and love for the game in general has grown and is one of my favourite pastimes. I have also been a shareholder in the club for many years. As a lover of football I feel it’s the right thing to do too write to you today and express my personal feelings regarding the vote to allow a Newco Rangers into the SPL I feel this situation the SPL and the clubs in the SPL now find them self in is very dangerous territory. Whichever way ICT decide to vote could have serious repercussions for the club. Voting Yes, to allow a Newco Rangers into the SPL is just an unacceptable and unthinkable scenario. Rangers have acted recklessly, unprofessionally and selfishly and to reward this severe mismanagement with a place in the SPL for a Newco Rangers would be nothing short of an embarrassment for Scottish football. Many fans feel so strongly on this issue that they would lose faith with the game if a Newco Rangers were voted into the SPL and as a result, attend fewer games, purchase less merchandise and even not renew subscriptions with TV companies that broadcast SPL games, all of which would heavily impact on a club like Inverness. Voting No is the only way to ensure the integrity of Scottish Football. Rangers cannot go unpunished for their actions and justice must be done. If the situation involving Rangers was happening to another SPL club like Inverness, Kilmarnock or St Mirren for example then I strongly believe that there would not be all this media coverage as we would be chucked into the 3rd Division without a care. The only reason Rangers have not been placed at the bottom tier of the system is because of money. If a Newco Rangers are admitted into the SPL then it will be for financial reasons only and the integrity of Scottish football will be indefinitely tarnished. So Mr Cameron, I urge you to vote NO in allowing a Newco Rangers admission into the SPL. It’s the only way to vote and it is the right way to vote. Yours Sincerely Douglas Mutton
  7. It HAS to be a no vote to allow a Rangers newco to be admitted straight into the SPL. If this was happening to any other SPL side (besides Celtic) i cant help but feel that this whole speculatition about the admittance of a newco would be already sorted and it would be a no vote. If rangers are allowed to complete in the SPL next season it would be an embarrassment to Scottish football going to show that if your a big team with a big support and can supply the league with revenue then you can basically do what you want!
  8. If only all of this had happened and we would have a cracker of a stadium.
  9. I wish him well at ICT and hope he can fit in well to the team. I know nothing about him so will have to wait and see what he is like. Hopefully the demanding CB we have been craving. Realistically we have to look at payers in the lower league as that is what we can afford. I would love to see us bringing in playrs from league one and the championship but it is just not going to happen as we cant compete financially. There are some very good players in division 1 IMHO from Falkirk, Dundee so why not look there
  10. Once Victoria Park is complete i think i'd rather have that as a stadium than our own. Although i like our stadium, who ever designed the main stand with two open "wings" on it next to sea should be shot, its an appauling design. When they put the 2 new stands in at either end they should have been put 2/3 meters nearer the pitch, would have helped with the atmosphere i think and brought the fans closer to the action. Countys is much more enclosed and i am very very much looking forward to the 1st away game there this season, its going to be amazing.
  11. This thread was never meant as negative but as showing concern. I am forever the optimist ( if my predictions in the prediction league were correct we would finish 3rd every year i should think). I know there is a couple of months until the season starts so plenty of time to get in new players but this is kind of my point. Last season TB said he wanted to build a squad, which he did by bringing in Tade, Tansey Shinnie etc but now he;s not consolidating the team with a few new players to strengthen key areas, he is building a team from stratch again. I'm not blaming TB as some players have left for personal reasons or the lure of european competition. Its just frustrating to see the same "rebuilding" happening every season. TB has brought is amazing signings before and i am sure he will do it again, hopefully in time so the lads can get used to playing together before the season starts
  12. I believe Tokelys other half works in Aberdeen and he spends all his spare time there so the "settled in the area" theory doesn't really stack up....hence my slight surprise that the stories of him signing for C*unty, which have been going around since before the season ended, actually came to fruition. My biggest worry for next season is our own support....or a small but vocal section of them who are more present on these forums than they appear to be at games. Some seem unwilling/unable to get beyond Munro having being moved on and are caught in the mindset that the Tokely scenario is exactly the same. No appreciation for the fact that he WAS offered a contract and making assumption that it was a contract designed to make him leave. Those people seem so locked in to that negative mindset that you can be sure they will be practically wishing failure on the team (again) this season so they can deliver a stream of "told you so's"....as if their opinions being vindicated in such a manner is more important than the clubs success. I hope that people can achieve a bit of perspective, snap out of it and get fully behind the team before the start of the season. My mistake, i thought his other half lived in Inverness. I will always be behind the team 100% and get to as many games as i can (bit tricky as i live near leeds) I know that the clubs finances are tight and that we can't always offer the deal that players want and its frustration more than anything that gets to the supporters as we all want the best players to stay. I dont think the majority of fans are negative or waiting for the "i told you so" moment. Just frustrated at seeing the squad chopping and chaging so regularly
  13. Oh crap! would that be the same panic button that has been being pressed with such monotonous regularity all last season? I never paniced last season, was a horrific season for injuries and i dont think once we have the strongest 11 on the pitch. If we had limited injuries this season and kept the spaud together i would have been very hopeful for the coming season butover a 1/3 of the first 11 have now left the club. Should i not be worried?
  14. We have now lost Hayes, Tansey, Tade, Tokely etc, which in my mind are 4 of our best or most experience players. Before the end of last season when TB got rid of Munro and Duncan, he said he wanted to rebuild the squad with younger players to push on towards the top 6. Now at the end of this season, we are losing all our players again so yet again we are going to have a mismash team that have not fluidity, unity, dont know how to play together and wont have enought time to get used to each other before the start of the season. I really hope TB can prove everyone on here wrong and pull of some gems of signings but i have serious doubts. This season is make or break
  15. Once we all knew that the offer made to rossco was a poor one i for one knew that county would come straight in for him. He and his family are very settled in the area and county know this. He will be very badly missed at ICT and county's defence is looking good for the up coming season. The are not going to be easy to breeak down and i think the panic button has been well and truely pushed.
  16. He still had a lot to offer IMHO and i am very sad at the way the situation has been handled. Would not be at all surprised if county snap him up if they can offer him a better deal than what butcher did
  17. I would love to see the northstand renamed the ross tokely stand, he is a true ict legend and would be a fitting tribute to his 16yr service to the club
  18. You cant put all the blame on Butcher. Financial restraints are playing a huge part, hence why rossco, hayes, tansey etc have all left bacuase ICT cant afford the wages. Perhaps if we had larger crowds week in week out we could afford to pay players a bit more and keep the bestter players. I think the blame lays with many people. The SPL itself, the board, Butcher, the players and the not enough supporters. You simply can't blame one person, is madness!!!!
  19. Hopefully the first or many contract renewals
  20. Dunfermlines 2 goalkeeping gaffs that put us through to the next round of the cup! Classic
  21. I think the 2 most worrying stats are no one in double figures for goals and 7 red cars in the season. Both areas need sorting ASAP. Hope you reading this Terry and MO
  22. I would love to see rossco stay next season. He may not be the fastest defender in the world but his effort is second to none and i still feel he has a part to play. The reason they've offered a contract thats easy to turn down is because they wont have to telll him he's not wanted if that is the case. The club offer him a contract and say " here you are, do you want to stay". He says " the offers rubbish, no thanks". Therefore the club dont feel bad as the offered him the chance to stay
  23. I wouldnt mind going back to something similar to the shirt that the club had when we won the 3rd division. Red white and blue stipes. Been trying to find a picture but been unsuccessfully so if anyone can help out.
  24. Really hope he stays. He's be a fantastic player for the team in all the leagues and no one in the team is more passionate for the club and trys as hard as he does. It was a big mistake in losing munro last season and it would be an eqaul blow to loss rossco!
  25. I have never been so happy with a 0-0 draw. Massive weight of the teams shoulders. Lets hope we build for next season.
