  1. Maybe you should get off yer feckin high horse. It's boring. You want to blame the board for everything Brewster did, yet magically it is not to their credit that they acted, signed 7 players and got a better manager in. It was all down to you, apparently. Well done.
  2. How great to have a manager with some communication skills for a change. Humour and analysis. Now if he can carry that attitude into work, it can only benefit the team. Good to hear him sound positive. If we could get some points early in his new job, then I think we have a good fighting chance.
  3. too right. i see the moaners have already started up, before the guy's in the job.
  4. This is 100% correct, except it is Sutton and Knox. From a member of the Heathmount Mafia in exile. Which is nice. What's nice? being in exile from the Heathmount, or having Suttnknox, which sounds like it could be itchy.
  5. One of the question marks over Robbo is his management of Livingstone - didn't he do rather badly there, and if he was such a great option, shouldn't he have been able to do better? I don't know about it in detail, but I don't remember it as a glowing success.
  6. Ossie is a circus stunt. He was a terrible manager for Spurs, and has gone downhill ever since. He knows nothing about ICT or the SPL. If he didn't manage to keep us up, which I doubt he would, he would be off quick as a flash. It's just not a serious option, but a nice little media stunt for him. don't touch him with a bargepole.
  7. Ha, one in the eye for the serial moaners!
  8. Good post Stevie, broadly agree - no, it doesn't mean posters have to 'shut up and be happy'. I can't be bothered contributing here because of the constant bitter rancour re Brewster and the team, the hardcore almost welcoming failure so they can say, "I told you so". All footy fans love to moan, but there used to more good banter here. The perspective on what we are trying to do is being lost. Despite all the setbacks I am enjoying the current team, and think we have good reasons to be optimistic. Really hoping for a good display tonight.
  9. With the new boys up front, and some changes in tactics, I thought after the Hibs game it might take a while for the players and Brew to find the best combinations. You can't knock Brew for trying out most of the options available over the last few games. And he doesn't seem afraid of hooking players not performing early and switching things around. So he's on a learning curve too. Which I think he deserves some credit for. Let's hope the learning curve goes upwards as we find the best combination of the talent we have. Grounds for optimism, especially after the equivalent time last season.
  10. Pimple: great idea. Like the 3 for 2 offers in many shops it is a good way of getting people in who might buy the odd game, but could be tempted by a good deal for more (excluding OF games of course). The argument against is the amount of admin involved, but couldn't they use the internet to get a scheme like this going? By having a log-in of members whose accounts showed what games they bought tickets for, then issuing the bargains after a few consecutive matches. Come to think of it, why not offer the discount for as long as you keep going consecutively, thus tempting people to keep going on a regular basis, and not missing matches, because they don't want to lose their discount? Kind of like a live season ticket which keeps going as long as you do. Even if you can't make a match, you still might buy a ticket just to keep the discount going.
  11. I wasn't suggesting one person took it on themselves, and I do appreciate the amount of work involved. That was why I said if there was a central place for them, users could add links as they find them eg for the Herald or whatever. Many newspapers keep their archives online, so links can stay active for quite a while. I don't know if the people posting match reports on Pie and Bovril use this site, but if they do, an email to them asking them to copy them over here might get them going perhaps, so they get into the habit of posting theme here as well.
  12. The feeds are useful but they can disappear quickly, and as you say, don't include the nationals as far as I understand. I was thinking of maybe a more (semi?) permanent place where good articles, not just news feeds are collected together, so we don't miss a good interview or whatever. Somewhere, as people spot them, they can add them to the pile, and maybe let people know in the forum. Just a thought.
  13. It would be great to have a section which gave links to all online articles about ICT, from the Courier and P&J to the nationals. Otherwise we would miss good pieces like this: http://football.guardian.co.uk/Match_Repor...2228551,00.html
  14. blood....stone......gurn.....grudge......etc :001:
  15. Bejaysus, there's no pleasing some peeps :029: Don't forget, Brew has been on a massive learning curve since he first came and all that has happened since. What matters is whether he is learning from all the stuff he's had chucked at him. On the evidence of the last few weeks he definitely is. His attitude, man management and tactics seem to have come on in leaps and bounds. So let's quit judging him by his past and give him the credit where it's due. Football management is a tough job by any standards, and new managers are bound to take time to find their feet. Brew has been chucked in the deep end 3 times now, and this time it would seem he is benefiting from the experiences he has been through. It's still early days, but if he can keep this momentum going, nobody will care about the past. I don't already.
  16. Incredible! We're back to our famous best. The radio boys were effusive in their praise for us. Even the eejit Traynor was forced to praise us, instead of banging on about Celtic's deficiencies. :rotflmao: Update: Cowie interviewed, said Brew was positive at half time they could go for the win. Good on him. :021: :021:
  17. Yer getting yer knickers in a twist over nothing. whatever the club do will be the subject of conspiracy and criticism here, most fans have better things to do than get in such a fankle over press releases and such like.
  18. Rankin and Cowie have been two great signings. Rankin had some great performances last year and who could forget the goal of the year against the Gers? His form may have been inconsistent, but I believe he still has a lot to offer. If Brew has underestimated him, I hope he will think again now. Let's hope Brew is starting to see a settled and consistent side, after all the chopping and changing, though things never seem to run predictably with us. :029:
  19. "A hand blown glass acorn" no wonder Grasser looks so pleased.
  20. Quite clearly the giant lizards who are behind all this. I believe they had a secret meeting in a remote chateau in the Alps recently, where one of the plans for world domination required ICT to be demoted. If you look at the pictures of Craig you can see the black holes in his eyes. The shoulder thing is just a ruse, he is adjusting to his human body. :sillywave:
