  1. There is no doubt it is a great result, good luck them, it might take their mind off us for a while . But as I remember it, our result was a genuine shockwave at the time. Today may result in the end of Lennon, but it doesn't feel like the major trauma that Celtic received at our hands. Partly that is because the OF have had their share of defeats by 'lower' teams increased since then, it is no longer unthinkable, and also because Celtic were absolutely pitifully bad today (and County were very disciplned, well organised and took their chances). One enjoyable aspect of the commentary was the number of times they mentioned ICT and our famous victory - haha, even with their best result, they can't escape our shadow looming over them :025:
  2. QOS one up 0-1!
  3. Too right - stuff the contracting out to corporate profit makers, get in local pies, and support the Inverness economy! Better all round.
  4. Pressure and fatigue will no doubt play a vital role for all three teams challenging for the title. So, to keep it simple, expect the unexpected! There will be more twists and turns than yer granny on a bike going down Stephen's Brae. It will go to the last day, with a few nerves shredded along the way. On second thoughts I have a solution. Surely the new Doctor Who assistant is an ICT fan, it goes without saying - can she no borrow the sonic screwdriver for us, or do some timewarping when necessary?
  5. It would be extremely surprising if we don't drop points before the end of the season. But so might others. Personally I wouldn't be surprised at all if it comes down to the last game of the season. After last season, it just seems like a likely fate. We've done incredibly well to come back like this, but it's going to be a bumpy ride to the end. But isn't that part of the fun? Don't assume anything, but enjoy the ride.
  6. Terrific stuff. Huge kudos to Andy, I know how time-consuming this must be. I hope the club reward with his own bespoke shirt (director on the back). The wmv worked good, some momentary freezes but no big deal. Good quality too. The flash option doesn't work at all - just a page full of code.(on Mac OSX 10.5.8)
  7. The Calvinist streak in the Scottish psyche always prefers to dwell on the possibilities of failure, with, it has to be a said, a certain relish, a la Private Fraser. :025:
  8. Just because you post the same word over and over again, doesn't make what you want to happen, more likely to happen. Yes it does, because a positive state of mind, one which creates an atmosphere around the players and fans is more likely to produce good results, even if it doesn't go the whole way towards your goal, it certainly helps.
  9. Wow! Looking at the upcoming fixtures, we have Raith and Morton, both eminently winnable. while County have Dunfermline and QOS - so our challengers will all drop points against each other. We could build up a lead very difficult to overtake.... As for Dundee - what a feck up, from an (apparently) unassailable lead to car crash stuff. Getting rid of Jocky has only made them worse, as predicted here. Where are the doom merchants now, BTW?
  10. Lots of tantalising 'what if?s'. But what if County winning the league depended on us beating Dundee in the last game? How difficult a match would that be? Ha ha, it's going to be a seat of your pants run-in, with lots of twists and turns.
  11. It looks like it is down to a scrap between us and County, if you believe Dundee have lost the plot, which seems likely. Bring it on! The derby is now a massive match. Just what we need.
  12. Well done County. And if you believe, as I do, that Dundee have shot themselves in the foot and will continue losing points, then that means that it comes down to a straight fight between us and them for promotion! Exciting times, who would have thunk it?
  13. Extraordinary stuff. Seems ridiculous that you can poach the management of a rival for the title. Whilst I was fairly resigned to Dundee probably winning the title (a while back, not recently), now I think they should get what they deserve - and that would be not winning the title. Surely this represents a great chance for us now? I can't believe a new management team at this stage can possibly be a good thing. The knives will be out if it all goes wrong, as seems likely. Better than Corry and Eastenders combined! ICT - what can possibly go wrong now? (copyright Danny Baker)
  14. That's a heck of a decision to make at such a crucial time of the season. whoever gets it, and however good they are, it takes time for a new man to settle in and get to know the players. The players will be feeling the uncertainty too. I can't see it as anything else than pressing the panic button, with the likely result of spreading the feeling that they are imploding. We know how difficult it is to find any managers at this level, so how anybody is going to turn round a team with no time is anybody's guess. If Dundee don't go up, their board will have made a rod for their own backs, since no-one can blame the new boss. All the challengers will be greatly encouraged by this.
  15. Eh, I don't know. Like everybody else here, I was speculating as to whether the lawyers were encouraging one or other. It is all rather mystifying. :025: Why can't they just settle on a compromise out of court?
  16. Ok, so none of us really know what occurred, and we all have half-remembered stories and media speculation. ICT must have some legal advice which encourages them, so all we can do is wait and see what happens. I hope they win, though.
  17. Thanks Scotty, for summarising. It's a pity that both parties could not have come to a compromise which would have saved dragging it out with lawyers and courts involved.
  18. Well, I wish the club well in its appeal. There are obviously some contentions about what constitutes 'initiating' a transfer, where the actions are deemed to decide the case in absence of any written evidence. I have always felt Marius was here for an easy ride, as much dosh as he could extract, and use it as a stepping stone to getting back to a wealthy club. It may be that he thinks a little club can be bullied by his lawyers. I can understand the club feeling they were done over, and want to resist being rolled over by him. I don't get why so many seem more eager to use it as another excuse to bash their club, or it just a reflex which kicks in every time?
  19. Has Dunoon moved recently?
  20. Terry might not have built a league winning side, but he does seem to have built a good cup side - a good run would be great for morale as well as the accountants. Might lift our league form as well - a storming second half of the season would be just the tonic to blow the (dark) blues away.
  21. Surely a good chance against killie next?
  22. 'Best player on the park' Hayes is subbed for Imrie - recurrence of ankle injury according to robbo. Come on, lads, keep it up in the second half.
  23. A Monday night, after an away Sat fixture? Where is the sense in that, and what is wrong with tuesday or wed?
  24. The Hogmanay Party in the Northern Meeting Park has been cancelled on the advice of the Police: http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/news/fu...manay_bash.html Due to the conditions underfoot and on the roads. If this weather keeps up, the police could take a similar view for the game, let's hope not :(
