  1. Danny Devine had a very impressive game today capped off by his nicely taken goal and potential goal-saving tackle early on. Even still, the standout performer today in my opinion was Max Anderson. He was constantly in and about the Dunfermline players robbing them of possession, frequently on the ball, never wasted a pass and drove us forward when he had the opportunity to do so. I thought it was an excellent all round performance from him and the partnership he has struck up with Charlie Gilmour has been instrumental in our possession based football in recent weeks which has been highly impressive, especially considering we could hardly string three passes together earlier this season. Losing a late goal was pretty gutting especially as I was looking forward to Big Dunc celebrating with the fans again but as others have said it's hard to argue that Dunfermline deserved at least a point today. I'm sure a lot of the fringe players will get a run out next week against Cowdenbeath and rightly so given we have been more or less reliant on the same starting 11 week after week so let's hope they have a well earned rest and are ready to go again against Raith in a couple of weeks.
  2. From my counting they actually hit the woodwork 6(!!) times! One shot hit one post before rolling along the line and then hit the other. Another shot hit the post , hit off one of our players and then hit back off the same post. And they hit the post on two other occasions before we went up the park and scored πŸ™ˆπŸ€£..... Talk about daylight robbery .....
  3. Sounds like it's absolutely crucial for the long-term future of the club in current form.....
  4. 🎡 🎡 Duh-Duh---Duh-Duh-Duh-Duh----- Duncan Ferguson!!!πŸ•ΊπŸ’ƒ 🎡🎡 Once again not a vintage performance by any means but we scored the goals at a really good time and then saw out the second half without much trouble..... I could get used to this!! There were some spells of nice interchanges and keeping the ball well; not as much as at Dundee Utd last week but that has to be a secondary concern at the moment anyways given our situation. What is clear is that the players are giving everything and growing in confidence under Big Dunc's regime - Carson and Harper prime examples of this. My standouts today were Boyes, Gilmour and MOTM David Wotherspoon who has been an excellent addition. Goals aside, he has given us an outlet which we didn't have before, holds the ball up well and brings others into play. Prior to his arrival Billy McKay was spending his time isolated and chasing lost causes. Now he is spending more time in the areas we want and need him, i.e. in the penalty box. Max Anderson has also really came onto a game since the new manager came in. One of the stewards at last week's game (who was a Dundee fan) said that they want him back.... I hope we can keep him until at least the end of the season. Hoping he's not injured and instead was taken off at half time as he was our only player sitting on a yellow card. 3-points at Dunfermline next week would be a huge statement to the rest of the teams in the league (Dundee Utd apart) and hopefully have us striving for the play-off places. Looking forward to it already and hopefully we can take a sizeable away support to help cheer the boys to victory. Don't want to get too carried away at this stage, and I'm sure there will be ups and downs throughout the season, but also feel we should enjoy the honeymoon period for as long as it lasts!
  5. It's three at the back with Carson and Harper wing backs.... Hope they can still get forward in the second half 😬 Very positive showing first half but still missing clinical edge in final third. Shaw stayed up under in a challenge in penalty box - very honest - but had he gone down it was certain penalty I feel. United have missed a couple of sitters. Come on Caley!!!
  6. I saw Lewis Hyde in town with his ICT tracksuit on at around 1.40pm today which I thought was a bit strange. Thought the team would be at the stadium considerably before that πŸ€”. I didn't see him warming up but didn't take too much notice of who was at times to be honest.
  7. Great to get first home win of the season. I thought Cameron Harper, Max Anderson and Louis Longstaff were the standout performers today who deserve special mention. Harper in particular was absolutely tireless and always willing to take the ball even in difficult positions. Not a vintage performance (or particularly great match) by any means however given our position at the moment, I'm not really bothered about that! 7 points out of 9 for Big Dunc compared to the 1 from 18 we had before his arrival.... Bring on Utd!! 😝 One observation I would make is that even in recent games when we have looked pretty solid, as soon as we start making substitutions, it really seems to hinder us. And when we are winning could we please take all the balls away from the side of the pitch please so that the opposition don't have immediate access to them and we can 'kill' the game like more experienced sides seem to be able to do! 😬
  8. Just had a quick look on Morton website to see if there was any news on there re potential rearranged date. No update however I did have a look on the fixtures section and noticed that we apparently now play our home matches at 'Scalding Rock Stadium' πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ€”.....
  9. Never mind who was in the running now .... we have Big Dunc and we need to get fully behind him and the players. The supporters really played their part yesterday and hoping for more of the same at the first home league game where he'll be in charge against Partick on Saturday. Yesterday was great and whilst there were major celebrations at the end, I don't think people are under illusions that there is still a lot of hard work to be done even to avoid relegation never mind anything else. It was more a case of relief that we finally managed to win a game, combined with welcoming the new manager. Delighted to see him in amongst the fans at the end... the type of passion that has been sadly missing in recent times. Keeping feet well and truly on the ground but feeling much more positive than a couple of weeks ago after yesterday's performance.
  10. Somebody definitely mentioned a curve ball ......
  11. Just checked the Rothes website and it says the game is on Wednesday .... given the issues highlighted with communication right now , you really couldn't make it up πŸ™ˆ
  12. Going by the ICT official website Robert this game is tomorrow (Tuesday) night??!
  13. The team gave it everything today , I don't think they can be faulted in that department. We are just very much lacking quality in the final third.... gutted we lost the late goal once again πŸ™„
  14. Aside from one or two errors in the second half, I thought Ujdur had a very good debut - he looked comfortable on the ball, didn't panic even when under pressure and his distribution was excellent. Like others have said though , we just look so lightweight up front. I'm afraid we need two new starting strikers in January - hopefully it won't be too late by then ......
  15. Really enjoyed listening to the Wyness Shuffle podcast, well done to the guys. Some interesting names mentioned. Let's hope whoever is appointed on permanent basis can inject some passion and excitement back into the team. Bigger fundamental issues at the club still need to be addressed clearly - will be interesting to see what plan of action is proposed following Supporters Trust meeting on Saturday.
  16. Just continues week after week to let us know how to buy the next match ticket or latest product in the club shop. Business.
  17. I agree the lack of communication and engagement from the club is the biggest disappointment in this whole sorry saga .... And ironically the silence only amplifies the fans frustrations related to what is happening on the pitch right now. Hopefully the Supporters Trust board announce details of a meeting imminently .....
  18. I assume it means that rather than just the board meeting, anyone who is a member of the ST can attend and participate in the meeting ?!
  19. On the one hand I'm thinking surely there has to be a club statement this week ...... But on the other I'm assuming we just trundle on until next Saturday hearing that if we win that one we could go on a run..... We could realistically be sitting at the end of September with one point from twenty-one in the league and already knocked out of two cup competitions. The supporters who continue to travel to away games, particularly in this financial climate, deserve a medal. When is the last time they saw an away win against non-Highland league opposition? Unfortunately at the moment I'm afraid to say I'm not confident the club - never mind medals - would even reply to their email! Now is the time for change as far as I'm concerned as without it we are heading into league 1 imo.
  20. Raith Rovers and Dundee Utd now ......
  21. robbo1985 replied to tm4tj's topic in Caley Thistle
Yes it was the defender that played the ball into Brooks' path, goal should have stood πŸ™„
  22. Dunfermline at home Raith Rovers away Dundee United at home Arbroath away If offered six points from twelve right now I'd take them!
  23. The 'highlights' from yesterday now on Airdrie website .... https://www.airdriefc.com/dtv23-24/230826
  24. Unless I'm completely missing something, I'm sorry to say it is beyond comprehension for me that a week before the transfer window closes and with Billy Dodds advising the club are continuing to make real efforts to bring in players (Wyness Shuffle podcast), the club's Sporting Director is working for the radio summarising the Ross County match. I know it's been highlighted in previous threads but to me this is indicative of the state the club seems to be in at the moment - I just can't imagine a situation like it at any other club. Like others have said I'll continue to attend matches and support the players regardless of performances (that's what being a supporter is all about after all) but these are very worrying times and leaves me wondering what on earth is going on ....
  25. Improvement in the second half but thank goodness since we were playing the majority of it against 10 men. Losing the goal almost straight from kick-off no doubt further dented fragile confidence and belief at the moment. We look so edgy and uncomfortable at the back just now - I think we need a left sided (and left footed) centre half with an experienced head to help the younger guys who do have ability. The goals were callamatous to say the least. On the plus side, Bray and Shaw continued to take the ball, tried to get us forward and attempted to create chances. In my opinion Billy McKay has just looked completely isolated in the first half of every game this season. We seemed to do less of the punting the ball up to him and hope it sticks today (thankfully) but huge work still to do in order to have a threatening looking front pairing who link up well together. I think Brooks will come good in time and unless we unexpectedly bring in a proven goalscorer from somewhere in the next couple of days, I'd be inclined to try McKay and Lodvica from the start with Brooks in behind in the hope that we can actually take the lead in a match and then try to hold onto it rather than chase a deficit which we seem to be in the habit of doing right now. A (non-gloating) Airdrie fan said to me when I was leaving the stadium 'I'm afraid it looks like it's going to be a difficult season for you' and it was hard to disagree. Credit to Cameron Harper today - despite his own goal and the defeat and with some fans booing at the end, he still made his way over and showed his appreciation to the fans who had travelled for what must have been at least a minute πŸ‘.
