I am using REal Player but it still won't work. Does this game have an international ban?

    Link not found - do'h

I can't get the Sportsound link to work - is anyoe else having difficulty or am I just too pissed?
  4. Who would get promoted if.... Accies win Div 1 and New Douglas Park only holds 5300. Given that ground sharing has been a debacle for Gretna would Dundee be promoted if the came second in Div 1. The old rules of Gretna staying in the SPL because Accies ground is unsuitable won't apply because of their financial meltdown. Answers on the back of a postcard please.
  5. I would in a second Caley100, it just isn't practical at the moment. I will just have to hold out for a 4 week holiday there in September instead
  6. I would relocate them to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane - make a home game easier to get to.
  7. Proctor had his hand up for offside before the ball cleared his head. I hate seeing defenders raise their hands for offside. It isn't cricket so there is no need to appeal for a decision. Let the Ref's Assistant make his decision and defenders should concerntrate on defending.
  8. I agree with most of it IHE. Proctor was badly impersonating a central defender - looked very suspect under the high ball. Not sure how Roscoe got MOM - on the rare occassion he did get forward his distribution (see missed opportunity in 90m) was awful and he looked slow at times. Munro was fantastic and Fraser looked sharp as well - even though he didn't have much to do. Black was lively but didn't have enough people running off him. He was forced into holding the ball longer than he wanted to. Didn't know what to make of Patti, he seemed more interested in performing step overs rather than doing anything productive with the ball - Tip - If you do a step over every time you get the ball, defenders will take it from you every time! Niculae just didn't get enough of the ball and when he did 3 Rangers players swamped him Deserved 0-0.
  9. Clearly a penalty. Pressley was leaning into Niculae and then when he fell he further pushed Niculae off the ball. Very lucky not to be red carded, or Proctor was very unlucky - either way both players commited the same crime and received very different sentences.
  10. I subscribed to Setenta for last night's game (costs about 7 pounds/ month here) (the coverage was awful - only one camera which wasn't set up correctly and the effects mikes weren't turned on until the 2nd half) Anyhoo - about the game. I think it is fair to say that some of the defending bordered on catastrophic - the first goal was a basic defensive error. But apart form that there are 2 things that occured throughout the match that worried me: 1) The regularity the defenders commited to tackles by sliding or leaving their feet and coming up with no result. If you don't get a result from a sliding tackle it places enormous pressure and other defenders to fill gaps while the first defender lays prone on the ground. 2) The amount of time that defenders spent with their arms in the air claiming offside or the ball was out. This game the opposition plenty of time and space while defenders stood still with their hands in the air staring at a linesperson. On the upside I thought Fraser looked better the longer the game went. I thought Tokely had a good game especially as he was defending a player that was much faster and more agile than him.
  11. It may well have had a happy ending but surely this could have been sorted out well before the media became involved. Fair dinkum I just don't understand why they treat fans so badly time after time. Is this the same disbaled kiddie that was treated so badly a few years ago? It seems the health and safety of the sponsor's advertising is more important than the fans... or am I over-reacting?
  12. Ah, I think I see the problem with our defending
  13. If I follow these bread crumbs I should be able to find my way back to TCS. or left, right, left, right. Hang on..I left, was that right?
  14. I want to say well done to CC. It must have been a tremendously difficult decision and the fact that he obviously took every result personally shows his commitment and loyalty to ICT and his family. It is a shame that this loyalty to ICT has had a negative effect on his family. He has made the right decision for him and his family and I respect that decision. Good luck in the future and I hope that future continues to inlcude ICT in some capacity
  15. Well said Charles and I do agree. As an ex-Journalist myself I understand that sometimes you have to "manufacture" or attempt to illicit comments from talent and CB was in a position that he could not win. Even a "no comment" would have been read as "Brewster wants to leave" Brewster left because of an offer that he could not refuse and I challenge anyone that is offered a considerable wage increase to join a competitor that would not take that offer. His insiting on a generous compensation for ICT appears to be indiciative of his character and I am more than comfortable with him returning. I wish CB all success with ICT and I look forward to him proving the doubters wrong.
  16. Maybe we should consider playing him as a wide midfielder - he seems comfortable working beside a white line.
  17. Maybe someone said to him "Do you want to participate in a line.........." and he was already on his way before he heard the final word in the sentence ".......up."
  18. The Lennon/Juanjo alleged headbut would have been a good place to start.

I cannot believe that Neksor's post was edited by the moderator. I think there has been a near hysterical response by some moderators/posters to edit or indeed say that this issue cannot be discussed. Not one post on this thread has come even close to causing a problem. At no time did he say player a is taking drug b. However it is perfectly legitimate to ask what should be the club's reaction be IF a player was found to be in possession of a specified, illegal substance. 4th stand says that we shouldn't speculate without the facts - fine. This doesn't mean we can't have a responsible discussion about how the club should respond IF a player was found in possession of an illegal substance.

My point exactly Vinnie!!! This is not an "Official Site" As long as we stay within the Libel/Defamation laws we are fine. There is no problem in discussing what we think should happen IF a player was to be caught by the police to be in possession of illegal drugs. It is no different to discussing what the club should do with a player that is not performing. On the other issue 4th Stand I am very happy with Sir Beefy being knighted. He is considered an honourary Aussie (He did play Sheffield Shield for Queensland) He played the game like an Aussie and was loved for it!

I will say it again - I have made no direct reference to the current incident. I am asking for opinions on what ICT's action should be IF a player was to be found to be in possession of an illegal drug. Does the club have a duty of care to support a player in this situation? Is this a breach of their player contract? Does the SPL/SFA or the various other alphabets in charge of Scottish Football have a policy in dealing with this issue.

Thank you Flower, Roscoe. some opinions - at last!!

I have made no reference to newspaper stories. That is your inference - and I cannot be held responsible for this. All I have read is the BBC report alleging an ICT player was found in possession of an illict drug. I am not commenting on the specific incident. I only bring this up because in Australia we have 4 different football codes with 4 very different drug testing/drug policies. Thge only thing they have in common is the higher profile the player the more likely they are to avoid consequences for their actions. If the allegation is upheld is this not an opportunity for the club to be a community leader? What do the fans believe to be reasonable action for the club to take if the allegation is upheld?

Rubbish! All I am asking is, hypothetically, what should the club do if a player was to be caught by police with an illegal drug? There has been no specific reference to a player or incident. I don't see how my question could be broader? None of my posts have directly or indirectly quoted or mentioned yourself or Scotty. If you don't want to address the question, fine.
  25. Gabby replied to Gabby's topic in Caley Thistle
In my opinion drug policies should reflect community standards. Do we accepte "out of sight, out of mind" in the general community? Why should professional footballers be any different from other members of the community? If the allegations are upheld is this not an opportunity to assist the player and draw attention to a nationwide issue. ICT is potentially presented with an opportunity to be a community leader and address this problem. Sure drugs are seen as an issue with professional footballers, why can't ICT be a leader in addressing this issue?
