  1. Wish I had a dollar for every time I have seen the sentence "Cooper Sacked" on this forum!!!
  2. My question, without notice, would be: Mr Doncaster, why do you bother?
  3. Gabby replied to Libero's topic in Caley Thistle
Is it just me or does he look like a younger Gringo Jnr?
  4. Maybe someone should call him a waah-mbulance.
  5. Butcher is incapable of managing a team to play attacking footie. In fact, this is the reason he was sacked from his other managerial positions. I know this is why he was sacked from Sydney FC. they had a squad that was accustomed to playing attractive, attacking football and he tried to apply his defensive, play of the break style footy. It lead to Sydney laying well in the bottom half of the table. His managerial philosophy is not suited to "bigger clubs". Butcher's style is well suited to us and clubs like Motherwell - this is why he would never succees at a club like Rangers or promotion chasing clubs in England. As fans we need to recognise his strengths and accept his weaknesses and understand that he and ICT are a perfect match. Rant over
  6. Brew may be the only option Aberdeen can afford. They will probably get him for half a packet of crisps and a can of Fosters.
  7. Isn't it ironic that the Catholic Church call for the sacking of Dallas for forwarding an email, maybe I would be more comfortable with it if the Catholic Church considered taking the same action against their staff that are allegedly guilty of much more serious crimes.
  8. Great goal! 1-0
  9. Foran in the starting line up!
  10. A rare caley thistle game on TV. Fantastic

ESPN on sell to Setanta in Australia and it looks like we get our home game V Hearts on the tele live.
  12. Very sad news indeed, my heart goes out to Iain and the family. I had the pleasure of sitting beside to Coia's at a home game when we were playing at Aberdeen. Could someone PM to funeral details so I can send my regards.
  13. You can look extremely shaky when anyone runs at you... Your tackle's probably seen better days too. Most people run away from IHE, irespective of his tackle.
  14. Hayes is everywhere!
  15. No point using the online store. The page doesn't exist, so I sent an email to the club asking when the online store would be available. I got a very nice email back saying that they had no idea when the online store was available however I am welcome to make the trip from Brisbane to purchase one at the store. Give me a break - this is just crazy!
  16. I'm not big on names of shops but is this the wee place in the victorian market? Yes All my numbers were done at that shop in the Victorian Market. My wife was in Inverness in May and managed to get the numbers added to my shirt.
  17. Fair point Caley D and yes we have got off the point. Getting back to the point, football fans need to make a decision about what they prefer. The alternative is their club could go the way of Third Lanark. I seem to remember Hearts fans rejoicing when Romnov saved them from oblivion. It has proven to be a bad move. Would the fans of Portsmouth, Gretna, Leeds for example have been willing to chose oblivion over the reputation of their new owners. Imagine the uproar if ICT was in that position and the SPL/SFA/SFL (insert meaningless acronym here) ruled that a potential ICT saviour was deemed not to be a suitable person. Would you be happy to accept that decision?
  18. Quote: Report is written from the angle of how the money that clubs avoid paying in taxes etc through non-transparent set-ups could impact on world poverty etc. But even if you're the kind of person who views that as someone else's problem, the report still makes for a good read. The Catholic Church engages is the exact same behaviour. My point was that they should perhaps heed their own advice and lead by example. The BA strike is a good example. This is an organisation that is struggling to find its place in the market and is bleeding financially. I agree that people should have the right to withdraw their labour. If they felt that strongly about withdrawing their labour they should do it properly and seek alternative employment if they feel the situation is that bad. The problem is that no other employers in the industry are offering the same conditions as BA, hence BA's current financial position. Why should BA be forced into a situation that precludes them from competing evenly with others in the market? Enjoying the debate.
  19. I understand your point Caley D, however the message is only as strong as the credibility of the messenger.
  20. There are 2 reasons for doing this. Firstly he doesn't really want the money back but he doesn't want it sitting as an obvious liabiltiy on the Chelsea books. Secondly, it makes Chelsea's financial situation look better than it is which achieves 2 things: 1. At some stage the Champions League may not,(as the UEFA keep saying, albeit not convincingly) allow teams that are technically insolvent to participate. 2. Increases the sale price if he ever wanted to sell. He would never get rid of it if someone had to pay him 700 odd million pounds just to clear the debt. The economics just don't work given how small stamford bridge is and also given that it has no scope to increase its capacity
  21. Couldn't disagree with the report more Caley D. Different nations have different tax laws. The link between owners of football clubs and world poverty is tenious at best but mostly a load of complete rubbish. The source of the report is the biggest clue. It is Christian Aid. In all honesty religous orgnisations (particulartly Christianity) get some of the best tax breaks in the world. I would be happy to agree with them if they lead by example, but the don't. They have amassed a significant amount of wealth that they choose not to spend on the poor. In fact if they were serious they would move beyound financial secrecy and start seriously dealing with members of their clergy that have allegedly sexually molested junior members of their own organisation. They have no right to take any moral high ground until they have seriously and comprehensively addressed their own dirty laundry. In the final part of the document Christian Aid talk about accountability, this organisation has no right to preach on accountability. Rant over
  22. They might just be football fans looking to take in a game. Here I am a Brisbane Roar fan. But while travelling for business I have attended games involving other teams because I like football. In fact I make a point of mingling with the home fans to take in the home atmosphere of other teams. One of my best football experiences was a night taking in a Melbourne Victory game with the home fans. (They have a fantastic pub near the stadium!) I am happy to take in any live football I can get. I even attended Grant Street for a Highland League match Clach V Cove (from memory.) Cheapest night of football entertainment I have ever had. Walked from Dalneigh to Grant St, ticket, food, drink, social club all for less the 25 quid - Bargain and I top night entertainment.
  23. Also congrats from Brisbane. What makes it worse is my wife arrives in Inverness today to see her family. This is the first time I have not made the trip. But I gave her 300 pounds to spend at the ICT shop so at least I may be able to pick up a champions t shirt. Great effort from the players, staff and fans! I will have to renew my Setanta subsciption again next year.
  24. You've been on TV representing ICT supporters... Didn't you have any say regarding the caption that went with your name? As an ex-Journo, I can confirm it is their job to confirm the name and and the title they want to be referred. However it would be highly unusual for talent to refer to themselves as an Ex Manager.
