  1. Does athletics have any more drug cheats than any other sport or is it that they are just better at catching them?
  2. If Chambers gets in the team (and I'm still not convinced he should) he'd be doing very well to reach the final let alone win a medal
  3. Johndo, Tokely was at right back, Piermayr right mid, Morrison and Ross centre mid and Doran on the left. Also for the first time ever I find myself agreeing with Dougal! Most enjoyable game, both teams attempting to pass the ball rather than hoofing it up the park.
  4. I'll take one thanks
  5. of course a team like...say... Spurs would have turned a Sheikh with sackfuls of money away saying "we don't need it" wouldn't they?
  6. just change the badges on this:
  7. It wasn't that bad and a better performance than the Hibs game. United are a decent team, they took their chances, we never took ours. The ref and stand-side linesman (made one decision all night) were awful. We're not going down but highly unlikely to be top six either. Season is likely to fizzle out unless we can keep the cup run going.
  8. EGM this Thursday evening
  9. Disagree, tonight Foran may have misplaced a few passes but he and the other midfielders ran themselves into the ground. Just watch him when we lose the ball, his covering for other players when they're caught out of position, last ditch tackles and defensive duties at set pieces. With a bit of luck & composure he may have also got on the scoresheet. Plus I didn't notice any excessive criticism aimed at his team-mates.
  10. he was captain and virtually ever-present in our first season in the SPL - enough said!
  11. could you add one for artieziff too thanks
  12. Could you add one for Nogbad too thanks
  13. seconded, was nice to meet up with a few old faces, eat a few sandwiches and drink a beer or two
  14. It doesn't count as a goal though.
  15. 9.18 from Inverness, 11.33 in Perth, 11.38 to Dundee
  16. First half was only memorable for a great Esson save. Hayes looked dangerous but got no service as the defence were humping aimless hoofs as far as possible. Rooney was totally isolated & had no support. Eric looked like he had no business being on the pitch. Second half was a complete change (tactics from Butcher shock!). Eric played just behind Rooney & Foran was pressing up the left wing. We were still trying to pass the ball when a shot was needed but then the Raith keeper kindly allowed us to score (excellent chasing by Rooney) & the opposition slowly crumbled. Could easily have been 5 or 6 by the end.
  17. Today was my first ever Caley game and I had great craic. Cheers to the fellas who invited me to sit with them for second half. The Fire drill chants were great, but wasnt there another guy singing something not everyone knew. It was a leeds song. Marching on together We're gonna see you win Na na na na na We are so proud We shout it out loud I.......C.......T ! Was he a Yorkshire Pudding ? Yeah they were, certainly English anyway. He has a lot of Welsh blood in him but drinks John Smiths :)
  18. The_Sponge replied to dan_ict's topic in Caley Thistle
He was poor today (can't fault his effort though) & should have been subbed but one dodgy game doesn't make him a bad player.
  19. Dunne is too slow (hence his magnificent total of red cards) & will eventually get found out at Villa, Richards makes too many mistakes & relies on his pace to get out of trouble - still young so may yet learn the art of defending. Given is a great keeper and has bailed out his defence for both Newcastle & Man City on many occasions. Lescott & Toure have yet to convince but may gel in time. As far as Hughes is concerned I don't think he was the right man for the job to begin with but should have been given at least until March/April to prove he was.
  20. Aston Villa won the league in 1981 using just 14 players all season
  21. Me & Nogbad will take one each again thanks Guzz.
  22. Happy Belated Birthday
  23. Not really, her dad sold the tickets - I bought one of them.
  24. I agree with KB
  25. I'm looking forward to going to a home game rather than dreading it (for the first time in months). So plenty of anticipation this weekend, concern can wait for a week or two.
