ICT's first 20 years were an almost continuous upward trajectory under a number of very successful managers, so it's rather curious to see that none of them are currently managers, at any decent level anyway.

The only one working as a manager is the legendary Steve Paterson at junior side Dufftown. (He most recently made the news for posting drunken messages on Whats App saying he was going to blow up the houses of fans who criticised him.)

Brewster is doing ok as Assistant at Plymouth, but has to work under Derek Adams.

Baltacha does youth coaching for Charlton, whilst Christie does youth development and lottery work for ICT.

As far as I can see John Robertson isn't doing anything in football, and strangest of all, our most successful and high profile managers, Butcher and Hughes, are both long term unemployed as managers.

Omissions

To be fair, there's been a bit on the Celtic game on the "Let's just do it" thread.  Not much today, I grant you, but there's really not a lot more to add before the game.  I'm sure there'll be plenty of comment after the game when there is something concrete to comment on, be it good or bad.

Whether JH had been manager here or not, his rant yesterday would have been worth a post or two.

 They've been without a keeper on the bench for the last 3 games and he's done nothing about it.    Then suddenly with their one fit keeper getting injured on Saturday (but not needing to leave the field) they seek a postponement the day before the next match.  One wonders what they would have done in any of those 3 matches had the keeper had to go off injured?  Presumably, by not having a keeper on the bench they accepted they would have to put an outfield player in goal.  Having a go at the SPFL rather deflects from the real issue here which is that Raith lost because they failed to score a goal against a side which had not won in their last 15 games.

Sounded to me like instead of being in talks with a number of keepers, they put all their eggs in the Logan Bailey basket.  He's a bit above their station I'd have thought.

How odd indeed that in a thread titled 'Our Former Managers' there should be a discussion about our most recent former manager.

Much as I have criticised Hughes in the past we could have done with Hughes tonight.  He'd have put Draper in goals.

There is a big difference between leavening out players and ostracising them. All managers have to leave out players it's part of the game from amateur level up. The latter is poor man management and an bullying pure and simple. The fact that we are still discussing JH in these terms is evidence of just what a divisive figure he was notwithstanding his undeniable successes with us.

Ignoring and ostracising someone returning from injury not just someone unhappy at being left out. 

As Kingsmills says some on here alpear to excuse Yogi anything. 

Football is a job like any other at the end of the day and normal workplace rules apply regardless of managers like Fergie etc....
