It’s a little complicated to explain, but works well ….
After each League and Cup game, we publish a poll where we invite users who were at the game to vote for the players who they thought gave the best performances. Users choose their top 3 players and vote accordingly. The top player is awarded 5 “match points”, the next player gets 3, and their third choice gets a single point.
PLAYER OF THE YEAR After a week (when the poll is closed) we count up the match points awarded to each player (ie. the total sum of all the 1, 3, and 5 point votes they received) and award “Player of the Year Points” to the top 3 performers. The player who got the most “match points” is awarded 5 Player of the Year Points, and the next highest players receive 3pts and 1pt respectively. Player of the year points are counted up over the season and the player with the highest POY points total at the end of the season receives the CaleyThistleOnline Player of The Year trophy at the supporters’ club end of season party.
PLAYER OF THE MONTH When the poll is closed we also count up the quantity of votes a player receives in each match irrespective of whether they are 5, 3, or 1 point votes. At the end of each month we name the player with the most individual votes over the space of that month as our “Player of the Month”. This allows ‘unsung’ players who may get loads of 1 or 3 point votes but not too many 5 pointers to be in with a shout at being Player of the Month. Rangers 0-1 Inverness CT - SPL- fan report

Recently, we challenged our users to volunteer as match reporters so that we could relaunch the 'fan report' section. Div1309 was the first to take up the challenge and reports from today's match at Ibrox.

14th October 2006  Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow  RANGERS  0 Team: Letizi, Bardsley, Rodriguez (Novo 73), Papac, Smith, Hemdani, Ferguson, Adam, Buffel, Prso (Boyd 59), Sebo
Subs – N'Diaye, Rae, Hutton, Svensson & McGregor
INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE FC  1 (Bayne 71)  Team: Brown, Tokely, Dods, Munro, Hastings, Wilson (Hart 87), Black, Rankin, McBain, Dargo (Duncan 83), Bayne
Subs – McCaffrey, Duncan, Wyness, Sutherland & Fraser
Referee  Ian Brines  Attendance    Man of the Match   UNOFFICIAL REPORT - Supplied by DIV1309
Until October 14th 2006, Rangers were one of only two teams in the current SPL that ICT had not beaten in a competitive match (league or cup). [editors note: we have still to beat Aberdeen too !]
Leading up to the match Rangers were expected to win quite easily, but some amongst the away support suggested that an upset would be on the cards. What a result that would be on my first game of the season (I live in Glasgow so hard to get to games, plus some work commitments prevent me as well)
The starting line up was announced with only Richie Hart making way for Ian Black in an otherwise unchanged line up.
The match started out with Rangers content to knock ball the ball around putting the away defence under some pressure although never enough to trouble Brown. Sebo had a chance but lashed it across the front of goal.
The first piece of action at the other end saw Rankin's shot spilled by the fumbling Letizi and Mcbain unlucky to see his follow up effort go just over the bar.
Rangers were unable to make any inroads to the ICT defence and were reduced to Bardsley shooting from around 35 yards although Brown was behind it all the way. The best chance of the half then came when Adam played in Buffel who looked destined to score but once again Brown stood up and produced a brilliant save to stop them.
Rangers enjoyed some possession towards the end of the half but nothing came of it. The only downside to the half was Black picking up a yellow card that means a suspension for the youngster for a tackle on Smith, who twenty seconds prior to the incident was rolling around in agony on the ground (dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole, dig a hole).
Half Time Rangers 0-0 ICT
Second half started the same as the first with Rangers knocking the ball around, although ICT seemed more intent on getting the ball up the pitch this half, main target being Bayne with Dargo and the midfielders running off the knock down balls.
A chance came to Buffel but Hastings threw himself in the path to block it. Rangers had some more chances but they came to nothing. ICT came more into the game with Black having a chance after beating a player although his shot took a deflection and was cleaned up by Letizi.
Then the moment came that we took the lead. The ball was played into Dargo who turned in acres of space and struck a left foot shot - which Brown would have mopped up easily - that Letizi fumbled and Bayne, having continued on into the box, slid in to squeeze the ball into the net before running over to the corner to celebrate.
The away support tucked away in the corner went crazy, as the Rangers fans were in disbelief. Rangers started to pile on the pressure after this with Smith lashing a shot wide. ICT tried a couple of break away moves that lead to Bayne collecting the ball and looking for runners off him but came to no avail.
Christie changed things with less than 10mins to go taking Dargo off for Duncan to shore up the midfield and Wilson off for Hart, who had ran all day.
Rangers sub Novo had a chance late on that could have gone in but went past Brown's right hand post. A couple of penalty shouts for Rangers came and went and the last three mins seemed to take forever until we managed to keep the ball in the corner for a while until the referee blew the whistle to start the bedlam in the away support.
FULL TIME Rangers 0-1 ICT
Man of the Match – Graham Bayne- isolated at times but contested every high ball, chased lost causes, ran himself into the ground and scored that all important goal. No wonder he is a favourite amongst the ICT fans.
Ratings
Brown – 7 – never really had much to do although when called upon produced the goods. Tokely – 7 – Solid as usual, never under any pressure from who ever Rangers put on the left. Munro – 8 – solid as ever, cleaned up any long balls that came his way. Good to hear CC thinks he is progressing to Scotland squad material. Dods – 7 – never let the Rangers strikers have a chance. Hastings – 8 – solid again and brilliant last ditch tackle after his mistake nearly lead to a goal. Wilson – 8 – ran all day for the team. Excellent performance. Black – 8 – brilliant today. Proving he is a match for the best in the league. Battled for everything and never let Ferguson control for a minute. Rankin – 7 – good performance. Decent effort in the first half. McBain – 7 – good effort, had a chance to run onto a Bayne through ball in the 2nd half but stopped. Apart from that good distribution and tried to support Bayne whenever possible. Dargo – 7 – one of his quieter days, although did hit the shot that led to the goal. Bayne – 9 – brilliant. Challenged everything, fought for every ball, ran after everything and scored. Highlights of the Day – Rangers fans booing Letizi when he touched the ball after the goal, one ICT fan holding up his bookie form to the home support and kissing it (obviously had 1-0 win or Bayne to score or both) and the way the away support never stopped singing all day and went absolutely nuts when we scored.

Rangers 0-1 Inverness CT - SPL

RANGERS 0-1 ICT
A Graham Bayne goal in the 71st minute was enough to earn Caley Thistle all three points against Rangers.  This was Caley Thistle's first win against the Glasgow side in eight attempts. Caley Thistle Historian Ian Broadfoot supplies the official report from Ibrox.

14th October 2006  Ibrox Stadium, Glasgow  RANGERS  0 Team: Letizi, Bardsley, Rodriguez (Novo 73), Papac, Smith, Hemdani, Ferguson, Adam, Buffel, Prso (Boyd 59), Sebo
Subs – Rae, Svensson, Hutton, N'Diaye & McGregor
INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE FC  1 (Bayne 71)  Team: Brown, Tokely, Dods, Munro, Hastings, Wilson (Hart 87), Black, McBain, Rankin, Dargo (Duncan 83), Bayne
Subs – McCaffrey, Wyness, Sutherland, McAllister & Fraser
Referee  Ian Brines  Attendance  49494  Man of the Match  Grant Munro (ICT)
A dramatic first ever win over Rangers for Caley Thistle after a tremendous defensive performance and a Graham Bayne goal on the counter attack.
The Scottish Cup victories over Celtic and Hearts may be the pick of the club’s history but this is right up there with the best – most certainly the club’s best SPL result. The final whistle was greeted with loud cheers from the small away support and boos from those Rangers’ fans who had not left early.
Rangers’ stand-in goalkeeper Allan McGregor was the SPL ‘Player of the Month’ for September but he was still dropped in favour of fit-again Lionel Letizi. The media criticised this change in advance and Rangers’ manager Paul Le Guen must have regretted the decision when Letizi gave away the goal that cost them the points. For Caley Thistle Ian Black came back into the side at the expense of Richie Hart and Liam Keogh missed out through suspension. With Dennis Wyness now fully recovered from his shoulder injury he took a bench spot.
Rangers started at pace and in the first five minutes they had three corners. They rarely found the route to Mark Brown thanks mainly to sterling defending by the back four. Grant Munro in particular was praised by all the media for his fine performance.
Caley Thistle did press towards the Rangers’ goal but mainly on the break. On the half hour mark Caley Thistle were awarded a free kick when Dado Prso fouled Barry Wilson on the right. Wilson played it short to John Rankin and he forced a punch save from Letizi – it fell to Roy McBain’s ‘wrong’ foot and he hit over the bar.
With three minutes of the first half remaining Rangers finally found a way through to Brown but he kept the Inverness side in the game when Thomas Buffel turned, shot on target and Brown saved it with his legs on the six yard line.
A minute later Ian Black was shown a rather soft yellow card which means he has earned a one game suspension.
Half Time: 0-0
The second half was much like the first with the Caley Thistle defence repelling all that Rangers could throw at them. In 58 minutes Buffel nearly managed a shot from a Prso pass but Richard Hastings managed to block it.
Buffel hit over the bar in 62 minutes then in 71 minutes came the defining moment of the game. A break from defence led to Craig Dargo racing through the middle and shooting from 20 yards. It looked a safe catch for Letizi but the reinstated ‘keeper spilled it and Graham Bayne was there to knock it in.
Rangers were shocked but continued to press. Steven Smith hit wide in 79 minutes then captain Barry Ferguson shot over. The home crowd started to leave as they saw no way back for their side. Rangers had a strong penalty claim when Nacho Novo was seemingly fouled with a minute of normal time left – he regained his balance, shot wide and nothing came out of it.
Full Time: 0-1
The final whistle went and Caley Thistle had once more ‘Gone Ballistic’. The fantastic result led to a three-place climb to fifth in the league. A day to savour and another chapter in the remarkable history of the club.

FIXTURES Saturday 14th October: Dundee Utd v Celtic (12.30pm, Setanta) Falkirk v St Mirren Kilmarnock v Aberdeen Motherwell v Dunfermline Rangers v Inverness CT Sunday 15th October: Hibernian v Hearts (2pm, Setanta) SPL ROUND-UP After Scotland playing last weekend it has been two weeks since the last SPL round of matches. It was 3 games on Saturday and 3 games on the Sunday 1st of October. On the Saturday, St Mirren shocked Hibernian in Edinburgh with a 1-0 win thanks to a wonder goal by Van Zanten. Motherwell also produced a massive shock as they recorded their first home win by a comprehensive 5-0 victory against Kilmarnock. McDonald 2, Kerr, Reynolds and Foran all supplied the goals. Also, Inverness CT overcame their home hoodoo with their first home win of the season against Dunfermline. It wasn’t pretty at times but this is a results business and Ross Tokelys 90th minute winner was a sigh of relief for all of the Inverness CT fans. On Sunday, Celtic scrapped a 1-0 at the Falkirk Stadium thanks to a McGeady goal with 6 mins to go. However, Falkirk showed they were no pushovers playing some good football. Rangers eventually overcame Aberdeen at Ibrox with a Sebo winner with 2 mins to go. Hearts convincingly beat Dundee Utd 4-0 to heap more pressure on Brewster. Makela, Hartley, Mole and an own goal was enough for the Jambos to get three points. After 9 games, Celtic top with 22pts (3pt lead) and Motherwell still sit bottom of the table with 7pts (1pt behind). RECENT SPL FORM Inverness CT: WDDWL Rangers: WLLWD PAST MEETINGS The teams have played a total of 7 times (6 League, 1 Cup) with 16 goals (5 Inverness CT, 11 Rangers) between them. Inverness CT: 0 wins (0 League, 0 Cup) Draws: 3 (3 League, 0 Cup) Rangers: 4 wins (3 League, 1 Cup) A GAME TO REMEMBER For this weeks game to remember we take you back to one of the three SPL encounters that have taken place at Ibrox. It was the most recent of meetings at this venue that took place on the 29th October 2005. Inverness CT had already lost 1-0 and drawn 1-1 before at Ibrox so were looking for more points of Glasgow Rangers. Rangers started the better with Ricksen hitting the crossbar but it was a surprised Inverness CT that took the lead thanks to a wonder goal. Craig Dargo ran onto a Mark Brown goal kick and he hit a spectacular dipping shot that beat Waterreus. They could have been 2 up had Morgan’s shot from the edge of the area gone on target. Inverness were 1-0 up at half time and the Highlanders loved every minute of it, especially the fans who sang right through the interval. Rangers immediately bombarded the Caley goal and got the equaliser through Steve Thompson on the 54th minute. However, the Inverness defence held firm throughout the rest of the match even though being reduced to 10 men due to Bayne getting sent off. Even though giving away the lead, Inverness CT were still delighted with a point at Ibrox and heaped more pressure on McLeish. The attendance was 47687. The teams were as follows: INVERNESS CT: Brown, Tokely, Dods, Munro, Hastings, Duncan, Black, Proctor, Morgan, Bayne, Dargo. Subs- Wyness (for Dargo), Fraser, McCaffrey, Parratt, Hart, Juanjo. RANGERS: Waterreus, Hutton, Malcolm, Andrews, Bernard, Ferguson, Ricksen, Hemdani, Burke, Prso, Lovenkrands. Subs- Thompson (for Burke), Klos, Rae, Murray, Namouchi, Smith, McCormack. The referee was Iain Brines and there were 7 bookings and 1 sending off on the day. Hemdani, Malcolm and Ricksen all got cautioned for Rangers and Bayne, Black, Tokely and Dargo all got cautioned for Inverness with Bayne later getting sent off. Only one of the Inverness players who started the match has left the club, David Proctor going to Dundee Utd. FACTS BETWEEN THE TEAMS • All League meetings between the teams have taken place in the SPL. • Inverness CT have never won against Rangers. • This will be Paul Le Guen’s first taste of playing the Highlanders. • Charlie Christie’s first official game since taking over the managers job permanently was at home to Rangers. • The last time these two came face to face Rangers came out on top in a close 3-2 win in Inverness. Dargo and Wyness scored for the Highlanders. PLAYERS TO WATCH Graham Bayne (Inverness CT): Bayne has taken the place of the injured Wyness in recent weeks and has always given 100%. His aerial presence could be a key against a Rangers defence with weak heading. Whether he starts or comes on as a sub with 15 minutes to go, he is a big problem for any defence to deal with. Bayne is the sort of player that will run himself into the ground no matter who the opposition is and fully deserves more goals for his play. Gary McSwegan (Inverness CT): I wonder what sort of odds their would have been a year ago for McSwegan making his Inverness debut at Ibrox? It just may happen on Saturday as McSwegan got 2 goals for the reserves midweek. He is approaching full fitness and could make his debut by coming off the bench. Are we dreaming of his debut goal being a 90th minute winner? Goalkeeper (Rangers): It will be very interesting which player plays in goals for Rangers on Saturday. Allan McGregor has been on top form for the Gers since Lionel Letizi was injured 2 months ago. However Letizi played his first game back during the week in a reserves match against Celtic which they lost 3-2. Letizi has now been declared fit and is in contention for the big game. Le Guen has a headache over who to choose for the game on Saturday with Europe in mind on Thursday night. In my opinion, I believe McGregor fully deserves the no1 jersey for his recent performances but I think Le Guen will opt for his fellow countryman. Whoever it is will have to put up a good performance to keep their place. FUTURE FIXTURES 27th Dec 2006 at Tulloch Caledonian Stadium (8pm) 31st Mar 2007 at Ibrox Stadium NOTE TO ALL FANS ATTENDING MATCH MAKE AS MUCH NOISE AS POSSIBLE TO DROWN OUT THE HOME FANS. Clydesdale Premier League ?

Teaser Paragraph:
It has been revealed in the media today that the Clydesdale Bank may replace the Bank of Scotland as the main sponsors of the Premier League when their rival's deal runs out at the end of this season.
The Bank of Scotland decided not to continue sponsorship of the SPL but instead hope to concentrate on 'grass roots' football, especially at school level.
{styleboxop}"talks of a done deal are premature" - SPL Spokesperson{/styleboxop}
The 'proposed' Clydesdale bank deal is reputed to be worth anything from £6.5 to £8 million over 4 or 5 years depending on which source is to be believed.
The news first broke in the Daily Record this morning (11th October) and according to 'sources' quoted in the newspaper article "It's a great deal for the SPL and the Clydesdale are delighted too. For the SPL to secure another national blue-chip backer is fantastic for the game in Scotland and the bank is equally happy, especially at a time when the game in Scotland is attracting so much attention and is coming back to a high. Everyone is talking about football right now and that's exactly what sponsors like."
Although the potential new sponsorship deal appears to be good news for the SPL and eases fears that they would be left floundering around looking for a new sponsor a spokesman would only go as far as to confirm to the BBC website that negotiations were taking place and that no deal has been finalised. "Clydesdale Bank has a strong record on investment in sport and in Scotland, however, talks of a done deal are premature."
The spokesman also refused to confirm or deny whether the details of the reputed deal highlighted in the Record 's report were correct  "We have had strong interest, but until a deal is finalised and approved by our member clubs, these discussions remain commercially confidential."
sources indicate that the SPL are due to meet on the 19th October to discuss this deal.

Inverness CT 1-0 Dunfermline - SPL

Inverness CT 1-0 Dunfermline  Caley Thistle have never lost to Dunfermline in the SPL and thanks to Ross Tokely that record remains intact. In a game that looked destined to finish as a no-score draw the big man popped up in the last minute to grab all three points.

30th September 2006  Tulloch Caledonian Stadium Inverness Caledonian Thistle  1 (Tokely 90) Team: Brown, Tokely, Dods, Munro, Hastings, Wilson, Rankin, McBain (Keogh 81), Hart (Sutherland 75), Dargo (McAllister 70), Bayne.
Subs: McCaffrey, Black, Duncan & Fraser.
Dunfermline (Jim Leishman)  0 Team: De Vries, Shields, S. Wilson, Young, Mason, Morrison (Muirhead 58), Hamilton (Tod 73), Woods, Ross (Daquin 65), Bamba, Crawford
Subs: McCunnie, Labonte, C.Wilson, & McKenzie
Referee  Calum Murray  Attendance  3517  Man of the Match  Barry Wilson (ICT)
Caley Thistle’s fine SPL record against Dunfermline continued with this 1-0 victory but it took a 90th minute Ross Tokely goal to secure the points.
Tokely has a remarkable talent for popping up with goals at vital moments and this 28th career goal was as well timed as it gets.
It may have been late September but nobody told the weather gods and the Moray Firth could have easily passed for the French Riviera. The football was not quite as good as the weather. Charlie Christie made one well-publicised change from last week’s side with the relegation of Ian Black to the bench. Richie Hart came in and had a fine game. Dennis Wyness was not quite fit so Graham Bayne and Craig Dargo continued up front.
Dunfermline manager Jim Leishman was almost unrecognisable without his trademark moustache – he was happy with the £2000 raised for charity by shaving it off, but he was clearly disappointed that his side did not go back south with a point. Caley Thistle had the best of the match but the Pars held out until they were finally broken down by intense late pressure.
Dunfermline had a fast start and in just 15 seconds Greg Ross sent over a dangerous cross from the right and Darren Dods had to head it for a corner. Roy McBain was the architect of a good move in six minutes when he broke down the right and into the Dunfermline box. His shot was blocked, as was Craig Dargo’s follow-up, then a Richie Hart effort was sent for a corner.
Steve Crawford hit an angled ball over the bar at the other end then Darus De Vries held a Dargo low shot. Chances were rare until just before the break when Bayne latched onto a Hart cross and headed just past.
Half Time: 0-0
Mark Brown held a Jim Hamilton header just into the second half then Crawford once more hit over the bar. As time wore on it looked like a stalemate but the fresh legs of ICT substitutes Zander Sutherland, Rory McAllister and Liam Keogh helped to up the tempo and the home side pressed hard
They were all over the Dunfermline defence for the last 15 minutes but the best chances came in the final five minutes. First a McAllister flick and a Bayne lob set John Rankin on a race for goal with a defender at his shoulder and De Vries advancing – in the end his shot disappointingly trundled past for a goal kick.
With two minutes left Bayne shot on the turn from 12 yards but De Vries produced the save of the match to touch the ball for a corner. Then came the final drama with Caley Thistle once more attacking in numbers and the Dunfermline box crowded. The ball broke to Tokely just outside the area and, after a neat turn, he hit a low ball goalwards and it ended up in the corner of the net. De Vries was deceived by a slight deflection but it was most definitely Tokely’s goal.
There was still time for a final fast run down the left by the impressive Sutherland but he was brought down by Freddy Daquin – his yellow card allowed time to run out and the points were secure.
Full Time: 1-0
Despite wins by Motherwell (am amazing 5-0 against Kilmarnock) and St Mirren, ICT moved up to joint seventh but eighth on goal difference.

ICT V Dunfermline - Preview

Teaser Paragraph:
Caley Thistle have never lost an SPL game with Dunfermline but with the team's current form at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium, many Pars fans will be hoping that streak ends on Saturday. Last week Caley Thistle drew with Kilmarnock while Dunfermline beat St Mirren . Andrew Fraser previews this week's game DETAILS Inverness CT v Dunfermline Tulloch Caledonian Stadium Saturday 30th September at 3pm Referee: Calum Murray Others: Brian McGarry, John Gilmour (Assistants), Mike Ritchie (4th official).
Tickets: This match is a pay at the gate match. TV-info: Live commentary from BBC Sportsound radio. Highlights available on ITV1 Scotsport SPL on Monday evening at 11pm. FIXTURES Saturday 30th September: Inverness CT v Dunfermline Motherwell v Kilmarnock St Mirren v Hibernian (all 3pm) Sunday 1st October: Falkirk v Celtic (Setanta, 2pm) Hearts v Dundee Utd (3pm) Rangers v Aberdeen (3pm) SPL ROUND-UP The first old firm derby took place last Saturday at Celtic Park and there were no surprises. Celtic had already built up a 4 point lead over their rivals and were keen to increase it to a 7 point lead over Le Guen’s men. Gravesen scored his first goal for the club with a header from 1 yard after McGeady’s header wasn’t saved probably by McGregor. It was destiny that Kenny Miller also had to score his first, against his old side, slipping it through the legs of McGregor. Celtic deservedly won 2-0. Motherwell took the lead at Tannadice through Calum Elliot but Noel Hunt equalised for Brewsters men 4 minutes later. Brewster is still looking for a home league win I believe! Dunfermline beat St Mirren 2-1 with goals from Crawford and Young. Sutton scored for the Saints. In a tempestuous encounter at Easter Road Falkirk narrowly escaped with a 1-0 victory. Their were 4 sending offs with one player not even playing at the time. Inverness CT deservedly drew at Rugby Park. Kilmarnock went infront through Nish but Dargo equalised 12 minutes later. Inverness had many chances in the second half but failed to take any of them but they were happy with a point against Kilmarnock. On Sunday, Hearts beat Aberdeen in Aberdeen 3-1. Berra, Pinilla and Mikoliunas scored for Hearts and Daal scored for the Dons. After 8 games, Celtic lead by 3pts and Motherwell are bottom by 4pts. RECENT SPL FORM Inverness CT: DDWLD Dunfermline: WLWLD PAST MEETINGS The teams have played a total of 15 times (12 League, 3 Cup) with 34 goals (17 Inverness CT, 17 Dunfermline) between them. Inverness CT: 5 wins (5 League, 0 Cup) Draws: 6 (4 League, 2 Cup) Dunfermline: 4 wins (3 League, 1 Cup) PREVIOUS MATCHES TO REMEMBER 07/08/1999 (1st Division) Dunfermline 4-0 INVERNESS CT: In the first meetings between these sides nothing went to plan for the Caley Jags. A 4-0 drubbing which Petrie scored a last minute goal for the Pars. 10/04/2004 (Scottish Cup Semi-Final) INVERNESS CT 1-1 Dunfermline: Inverness appeared in only their 2nd Scottish Cup Semi-Final in history although they were the only team to still be in at this stage last year as well as 2004. Paul Ritchie had put a glancing header in just before half time but Craig Brewster cancelled it out later. 20/04/2004 (Scottish Cup Semi-Final Replay) Dunfermline 3-2 INVERNESS CT (Pittodrie): Inverness left Pittodrie with a sense of what could have been. Paul Ritchie scored a spectacular goal of which the build up and the lovely floated pass by Bingham was unbelievable. Darren Young, Craig Brewster and Barry Nicholson all scored to make it 3-1 to the Pars but David Bingham got a goal of his own with a penalty late on. Inverness would be seeing a lot more of Pittodrie the next season. And little did Brewster know he just knocked out the team that he would be playing for and managing a year later!! 15/08/2004 (SPL) INVERNESS CT 2-0 Dunfermline (Pittodrie): A first SPL win for the Caley Jags on their first “home” game of the season. Stuart Golabek had scored Inverness CT’s first ever SPL goal in 12 minutes then Juanjo opened his account with his first for the club. It was a great day in a game dominated by the home side. FACTS BETWEEN THE TEAMS • Inverness CT have never lost a SPL game to Dunfermline. • Dunfermline have never lost a 1st division game to Inverness CT. • Craig Brewster has played for both teams al be it for two short spells. • The last meeting was on 6/5/2006. Inverness CT won the bottom six SPL match 1-0 at East End park thanks to an Alan Morgan goal after 53 mins. The attendance was 5354 PLAYERS TO WATCH Richie Hart (Inverness CT): The forgotten midfielder is starting to come alive this season after a very quiet start to the season. Some people even wondered if he was still at the club because he never featured on the bench. Although he has featured in the last few matches and may take Ian Blacks place in the starting eleven this week to shake up the midfield as promised by Christie. Signed from Brora Rangers, Hart can cause defences problems with his pace, skill and crosses. Has scored a few crackers in his ICT days and I am sure there will be more to come. Showed last week when he came on in the second half against Kilmarnock that he has the ability to fight Ian Black and John Rankin for a place in the team. Stephen Crawford (Dunfermline): Currently in his second spell with the Fifers. Previously with Raith, Millwall, Hibernian, Dunfermline, Plymouth, Dundee Utd, Aberdeen and now back with Dunfermline. With Hamilton, McIntyre and Crawford all signed for Dunfermline during the summer, there is a strong competition for places like the midfield of Inverness CT.
