Can any one remind me who our opponents were the last time we were in the 1st division and how did the league table finish.

Would you deem the other teams to be strong opposition? having the top two teams from div 1 join the SPL the year before our promotion did this help our promotion quest too.

Who were the main contenders for promotion that year and why ? did any teams have wealthy financial backing at the time.

Excluding our last year in div 3, when we had a support of around 3000, have we ever been way out in front in the league table since.

I remember thinking we were a wee bit lucky that big clubs like P*r*ick, Pars and Dees were not in our league.

I also thought when we came down this season that the standard was poor but maybe that's just natural after 5 years in the SPL.

Sadly Mantis, the standard IS poor, Dundee are considered by far the best in the section and their midfield consists of Ritchie Hart and Brian Kerr... Give me a break!

We should be wiping the floor with this division, we have too many players that are better than the best the rest can throw at us. Why isnt it happening? Who knows... I actually have faith in Butcher mind.

The first division was at its weakest for years when we got up, even then it was by the skin of our teeth, much stronger now despite how weak it actually is.

The telling factor is defence ! the season we won the league we lost 1 game at home, ever since we lost Dods we have had a poor defensive record.

Look at Butchers signings for this season - only one player is looking the business - Hayes, the rest - forget it and that includes Bulvitus.

The gudgie gypo from over the bridge nailed it by saying we cant beat anyone in the top five! and that is a fact.

I've tranferred meself from optimist to a leaning pessimist, and i cant see us getting a result next week either. :( :(

Richie Hart is far better than anything we have in centre midfield .

Yes, but he wouldnt get into our team with the formation we play. We have 3 players that count as CM'. Two of which are played as Defensive Midfielders, something that Hart is not, the 3rd is played in Harts Attacking Midfeilder, and i woudnt play Hart infront of Sanchez. Between himself and Hayes, they create nearly every chance we get at goal.
